Sunday Thoughts

Food is quickly becoming a main issue around this pandemic.

From Farmers having to let their crops go….to food banks being stretched to their limits…..to the hunger that is approaching.

I wrote about the food bank crisis in an earlier post…..and here it is…..https://lobotero.com/2020/04/16/closing-thought-16apr20/

I had bitched about those people that are allowing the produce and dairy and eggs go to waste…..and now there is some good news on the food thing…..

Farmers around the country have been forced to dump milk and waste fresh produce as schools, restaurants and other institutions remain closed due to the coronavirus pandemic. In response, Supermarket chain Publix launched a new initiative Wednesday to help struggling farmers — and get the food to Americans who need it most.

The company’s press release said it will purchase fresh produce and milk from farmers impacted by the COVID-19 crisis and donate the goods directly to Feeding America food banks that are in its “operating area.” During the first week of the initiative alone, some 150,000 pounds of produce and 43,500 gallons of milk is expected to be donated, the company said.

“As a food retailer, we have the unique opportunity to bridge the gap between the needs of families and farmers impacted by the coronavirus pandemic,” said Todd Jones, Publix CEO. “In addition to providing much needed produce and milk to food banks, this initiative provides financial support to farmers during this challenging time.”

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/publix-buying-excess-milk-produce-from-farmers-donations-feeding-america-food-banks-2020-04-22/

Publix should be commended for their foresight.

And please stop blaming the farmers…..look instead to the USDA of the Trump admin…….

Tens of millions of pounds of American-grown produce is rotting in fields as food banks across the country scramble to meet a massive surge in demand, a two-pronged disaster that has deprived farmers of billions of dollars in revenue while millions of newly jobless Americans struggle to feed their families.

While other federal agencies quickly adapted their programs to the coronavirus crisis, the Agriculture Department took more than a month to make its first significant move to buy up surplus fruits and vegetables despite repeated entreaties.

Yet another incident where the Trump group did not do what was needed when  it was needed….

It is NO secret that I am not a fan of the state of Israel….I think they have pushed the guilt trip on the West as far as it can go….it is time for them to start acting like a civilized nation…..

All that aside there are things that give me pause…like when the IDF destroys crops that people depend on for the life…..and now after bombing Gaza unmercifully they have decided to stop virus testing in the Strip…..

Israeli soldiers conducting coronavirus tests in the Gaza Strip have been ordered to stop by Defence Minister Naftali Bennett due to coordination issues, an Israeli newspaper has reported. According to Maariv, the Israeli government cancelled the initiative and claimed that Bennett himself was not aware of the army initiative due to a “lack of communication”.

The initiative lasted for two days and only 100 samples were tested at one of the army’s bases on the fringe of the besieged Gaza Strip. Soldiers had announced last week that they would carry out 50 coronavirus tests per day on samples from the Gaza Strip at the army laboratory in Tzrifin. The lab is also conducting tests for soldiers suspected of having the deadly virus. As of 15 April, the total number of infections in Gaza stood at 13.

The UN should take this up…it is a crime against humanity in my book….they are acting like the brutes that decimated them in the 40s.

Bet you will not hear this on the MSM in the US….those d/bags protect Israel like they were its child…..well may it is.

Have a good day…..be well….be safe

A Really Bad Week

Donald the Orange has a truly terribly bad week last week…..his rambling nonsensical bullshit he calls a virus briefing finally caught up with his ass…..and the nail that was the last in the coffin of his immature rantings at the press conferences was the drink bleach silliness.

In case you missed it….the person that put this damn stupid idea in that small Trumpian head was one Mark Grenon…..

Dear Mr President, I am praying you read this letter and intervene.” That’s how Mark Grenon says he began a letter to President Trump proclaiming the alleged curative power of industrial bleach—right before Trump went on TV and supported disinfectant as a treatment for the coronavirus, the Guardian reports. Grenon, whose Genesis II Church of Health and Healing peddles bleach as a health cure, said Sunday on his radio show that he and 30 supporters had recently written Trump at the White House. They sought protection from the Food and Drug Administration, which has acquired a court order stopping the Florida-based group from selling a bleach product to treat the coronavirus.

“Despite a previous warning, the Genesis II Church of Healing has continued to actively place consumers at risk by peddling potentially dangerous and unapproved chlorine dioxide products,” said FDA Commissioner Stephen Hahn in a statement. “We will not stand for this.” The FDA said the Genesis product, called “Miracle Mineral Solution,” is “an unproven and potentially harmful treatment” that “has a chlorine dioxide equivalent to industrial bleach.” In Trump’s statement about the coronavirus, he surprised medical experts by saying disinfectant “knocks it out in a minute. One minute!” Grenon and the White House have not responded to requests for comment, the New York Times reports.

Now he has the bright idea of cutting the pressers in an attempt to avoid putting the small foot in that large mouth…..after all there is not much time before we mortals go to the polls and Trump’s mouth keeps losing him points…..it has NOTHING to do with safety.

A day after a virus press briefing in which President Trump set off a firestorm with his supposedly sarcastic disinfectant comments, buzz began that we soon may not see too many of these briefings. Axios reports that Trump is said to be mulling having the pressers decrease in both frequency and duration, the latter mainly because the president himself would cut his time at the podium. One source notes it appears to have hit Trump that the briefings may be hurting him, which some of his advisers apparently agree with, believing he’s appearing before the American people way too much in an often contentious environment—and that these appearances may be helping political rival and presumptive Democratic nominee Joe Biden.

“I told him it’s not helping him,” one adviser tells the outlet. “Seniors are scared. And the spectacle of him fighting with the press isn’t what people want to see.” Forbes notes that his Friday press conference, the day after the disinfectant hubbub, “ended abruptly,” and without the usual reporter Q&A. Per CNN, the presser, at 22 minutes, was the shortest of the pandemic (they sometimes stretch for more than two hours), with a source close to the coronavirus task force saying Trump had been bothered by all the “flak” he got over his disinfectant comments the previous day. The Hill reports neither Dr. Anthony Fauci nor Dr. Deborah Birx appeared at Friday’s briefing, noting the briefings “have proven to be minefields” for medical experts like them as they try to deliver accurate, science-based info to the American public without getting Trump riled up

Now he decides to do the right thing?

His ego has putting millions in jeopardy.

Hopefully there will be a price for that carelessness.

Mississippi And Covid-19

I realize that most people are more worried about their state and their city…but just to let my readers know what is happening where I live.

Cases of COVID-19 continue to be identified in U.S. states and in Mississippi. This is a rapidly changing situation that is continually being monitored by the CDC and MSDH as new cases are identified.

Mississippians are advised to take health precautions to prevent the transmission of disease, and stay in touch for the latest information on the situation in Mississippi.

Mississippi COVID-19 Case Map

This map and the following table show total cases in Mississippi as of 6 p.m. April 24, 2020, and include all reported cases since March 11, 2020.

  • New cases reported today: 284
  • New deaths reported today: 12

My county has 152  cases with 6 deaths and 2 in long term care facility…….

Pirates Of The Mediterranean

God NO! This is not some pathetic off-shoot of the wildly popular Caribbean theme…..besides I cannot afford the price of Johnny Depp……

This post is basically about the noble employment as a pirate in the days of yore (ancient times)…….

Mediterranean stretching from the time of the Egyptian pharaoh Akhenaten (r. 1353-1336 BCE) and throughout the Middle Ages (c. 476-1500 CE). Piracy in the Mediterranean remains a persistent threat in the present day only with different kinds of ships and more advanced technology.

Historians sometimes telescope the history of piracy for narrative convenience and wind up implying or even claiming that piracy in the Mediterranean began with the decline of the Seleucid Empire in the 2nd century BCE and ended when Pompey the Great (l. c. 106-48 BCE) defeated the Cilician pirates at the Battle of Coracesium in 67 BCE when, actually, Egyptian records substantiate piratical activities in the Mediterranean centuries earlier and Roman accounts report its continuance for centuries afterwards.

Piracy was engaged in by governments and was often considered a legitimate act of war. Pirates were not always the “outsiders” flying under their own flag but were frequently employed by governments and were encouraged in their piracy by the slave trade which continued throughout antiquity. Long after Pompey had defeated the Cilician pirates, Rome continued to rely on them for slaves for the empire and, after that empire fell, piracy and the slave trade continued for centuries.

https://www.ancient.eu/Piracy/

This brings us to the US of 1800….and the presidency of Thomas Jefferson…..

In 1800, Thomas Jefferson was elected president of the United States. As a Democratic-Republican, he was deeply suspicious of a regular military establishment. He worried that professional officers might turn into a new aristocracy (a privileged ruling class) and that professional soldiers could threaten or coerce the people, depriving of them of their inalienable human rights.

Jefferson initially cut back on the armed forces. For maritime security, he felt that America could be protected by a fleet of small coastal gunboats. He sold off or decommissioned most of the Navy’s conventional warships

Thomas Jefferson and the Mediterranean Pirates

Jefferson’s paranoia led to the rise of the Barbary pirates in American history…..

The Barbary pirates (or, more accurately, Barbary privateers) operated out of four North African bases–Algiers, Tunis, Tripoli and various ports in Morocco–between the 16th and 19th centuries. They terrorized seafaring traders in the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, “sometimes,” in the words of John Biddulph’s 1907 history of piracy, “venturing into the mouth of the [English} channel to make a capture.”

The privateers worked for North African Muslim deys, or rulers, themselves subjects of the Ottoman Empire, which encouraged privateering as long as the empire received its share of tributes. Privateering had two aims: to enslave captives, who were usually Christian, and to ransom hostages for tribute.

The Barbary pirates played a significant role in defining the foreign policy of the United States in its earliest days. The pirates provoked the United States’ first wars in the Middle East, compelled the United States to build a Navy, and set several precedents, including hostage crises involving the ransoming of American captives and military American military interventions in the Middle East that have been relatively frequent and bloody since.

https://www.thoughtco.com/who-were-the-barbary-pirates-2352842

Some historians like to push the narrative that the US brought the Barbary pirates to their knees….it is BS…..Jefferson decided to pay them their ransoms and agreed to a treaty with them.  But the propaganda of the day told it differently.

The mention of pirates brings up romantic illusions of swashbuckling situations and the romance that surrounded these men and women…..but that is what Hollywood sees….reality is far more hard than the fantasies of the movies.

Class Dismissed!

News Not Covid-19 News

I know that this virus thing is all consuming but take my word for it there is other news other than, Covid-19…..and I will pass a little on to you for your weekend reading….

There is always someone that has a idea about life on Mars and now this guy is NO exception……

Naysayers have been trying to claim that the recent flurry of UFO sightings can be attributed to people having a lot more time on their hands thanks to the self-isolation directives everyone has been following.

Others believe it’s because aliens have been checking up on various parts of the planet to see how humans have been dealing with the pandemic that they may or may not have unleashed on the planet.

Regardless of which camp people fall in, there is one thing they can all agree on: recent discoveries of alien pyramids, bases, a monolith, and a crashed aircraft spotted on the surface of Mars has nothing to do with what’s happening here on Earth.

UFO Expert Believes He Has Found Evidence Of Alien Life On Mars In Image ‘Deleted By NASA’

Maybe he just has too much idle time on his hands…..just a thought….

Ten years ago the Gulf was invaded by millions of barrels of crude….the Deepwater Horizon disaster…..and they say that we are more at risk today than 10 years ago…..

On the evening of April 20, 2010 ― 10 years ago today ― BP’s Deepwater Horizon oil rig exploded while the fossil fuel giant was drilling an exploratory well off the coast of Louisiana, nearly a mile below the ocean surface.

The catastrophic event killed 11 workers and, over 87 days, unleashed a torrent of more than 200 million gallons of crude into the Gulf of Mexico ― the largest oil spill in U.S. history. An estimated 1 million birds and countless marine animals perished. Oil washed up along more than 1,300 miles of coastline in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Florida, devastating local economies.

In the weeks after the blowout, President Barack Obama likened the spill to “an epidemic ― one that we will be fighting for months and even years.” He vowed to hold responsible parties accountable and implement whatever regulatory reforms were needed to prevent similar disasters.

Life has not returned to normal in ten years…the seafood is not safe to eat  and that was a major industry on the Gulf Coast.

Remember when you were in school and in history class you were asked about maps on tests and in classroom discussions….but this is a map that is seldom taught in American history…..

Why Isn’t This Map in the History Books?

By the age of 10, most children in the United States have been taught all 50 states that make up the country. But centuries ago, the land that is now the United States was a very different place. Over 20 million Native Americans dispersed across over 1,000 distinct tribes, bands, and ethnic groups populated the territory. Today, Native Americans account for just 1.5 percent of the population, and much of their history has been lost, particularly as today’s education system is sadly lacking when it comes to teaching the rich and complex history of the United States. Here we examine little-known facts about Native Americans, which should be included in every history book.

We always hear about those people that are defrauding Medicare but seldom see it in print….well in my area they just busting a doctor and a pharmacy that were in cahoots to defraud Medicare…..

A whistleblower lawsuit filed in federal court accuses now-closed The Gardens Pharmacy in Ocean Springs, along with a Biloxi doctor and his son, of defrauding Medicare and the military insurance program TRICARE.

The civil lawsuit alleges the pharmacy, through now-deceased Gardens pharmacist Clark Levi, submitted fraudulent bills to Medicare and TRICARE for costly compounded drugs covered under the insurance programs. Gardens’ insurance billings were fraudulent, the lawsuit says, because sales agents received sales commissions, which the lawsuit calls “kickbacks,” for referring doctors to the pharmacy for the prescriptions.

A final thought….sex in the virtual world…..I have been writing about this coming phenom…..https://lobotero.com/2018/08/19/those-sex-dolls/

It looks like the adult industry is one step ahead….again…..say Hi to Hybri……

Although the adult industry is usually first to embrace new technologies, it doesn’t take long for a more general use case to emerge. Take Hybri for example, a Florida-based startup that’s bringing its range of ‘Human AI Partner’ holograms to crowdfunding next month.

The mixed reality platform lets you design your perfect companion based on one of the generic templates offered on the site. Choose everything from hair color, dress and personality type, before letting them loose in your own environs, either through a smartphone, or a virtual reality or augmented reality headset.

You can even scan the face of a real person to be the face of your hologram… which doesn’t sound totally creepy at all. Nuh uh.

I guess I am just old fashion…I shall stick with the real thing.

Covid-19 Saturday Thoughts

It is the weekend and the virus is still killing Americans…..Thursday we got new orders from the mayor’s office…..

Image

I shall do as advised…..MoMo will be walked at 5 am….and I will stay as a hermit.

I must have been thinking out loud…..someone heard the word “walk”….

Image

Now the big thing around this virus is that we should wash our hands often……but are we washing them in a proper way to prevent the spread of Covid-19?

I can help…..

If you’re not washing your wrists, you could be doing it wrong. And forget hand sanitizer. A primary care doctor explains how to most effectively get germ-free hands.

Finally is your choice of news about this pandemic the right call…..are they truly giving out accurate information?

Should you wear a mask when you go out in public? Yes, according to revised guidelines issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. But at one of President Trump’s daily press briefings, he said that “It’s only a recommendation,” adding, “I don’t think I am going to be doing it.” What about taking hydroxychloroquine, an antimalarial drug, to fight COVID-19? The Food and Drug Administration hasn’t approved it, but that hasn’t stopped Trump from encouraging its use despite inconclusive scientific evidence regarding its effectiveness.

When the president contradicts agency officials and medical experts (oftentimes from behind the very same podium), it can be difficult for Americans to keep the facts straight. That is why the media’s role as a watchdog is vital to democracy — its job is to hold government officials accountable and investigate the veracity of the administration’s claims, especially when they are in response to rapidly evolving events.

Some Americans Are Misinformed About The Coronavirus. How Responsible Is The Media?

The president and those rabid idiots that follow him blindly keep trying to get the lockdown overturned…..is there a way to do this safely?

The COVID-19 pandemic has put the world to the test. Never before have we been so aware of the many ways we come into contact with innumerable others. We have been forced to reassess and retrain common habits, from the handshake to the simple act of opening a door.

This is because the virus spreads via physical proximity: direct contact between people (handshakes, kisses and hugs), coughs, or even touching objects with contaminated droplets. The sum of all of these contacts forms a large and dynamic network – just like Facebook maps out our social interactions online. Disconnecting or weakening this extensive network is the key purpose of social distancing measures, currently experienced across the world.

https://www.weforum.org/agenda/2020/04/green-zones-a-mathematical-proposal-for-how-to-exit-from-the-covid-19-lockdown-ec3ea698f2

But wait!  Donald the Orange has a new plan to fight this disease…..

President Trump is facing widespread backlash after musing during a Thursday news briefing that bleach or other disinfectants could be injected into coronavirus patients’ bodies to kill the virus. Bleach is a toxic chemical, and medical professionals immediately took to Twitter to urge people not to consume bleach or other household disinfectant.

Someone has called him Trapper Don, MD……he is batcrap crazy and a worthless lump….but where did this damn silly idea originate?

The leader of the most prominent group in the US peddling potentially lethal industrial bleach as a “miracle cure” for coronavirus wrote to Donald Trump at the White House this week.

In his letter, Mark Grenon told Trump that chlorine dioxide – a powerful bleach used in industrial processes such as textile manufacturing that can have fatal side-effects when drunk – is “a wonderful detox that can kill 99% of the pathogens in the body”. He added that it “can rid the body of Covid-19”.

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2020/apr/24/revealed-leader-group-peddling-bleach-cure-lobbied-trump-coronavirus

If you think that is one of the dumbest things you have ever heard…..then this report from Vietnam should impress you….

Animal rights activists say black cats are being boiled, skinned, cooked then turned into paste sold as coronavirus medicine in Vietnam. Charity No to Dog Meat say the practice is centred in the country’s capital Hanoi, but bottles of the ‘remedy’ are also being sold online. One photo purportedly shows the mixture being fed to a baby. Graphic footage taken by campaigners shows rows rows of dead cats drying in the sun after being slaughtered. Another video shows a live cat being placed in a cooking pot as boiling water is poured over it.

This is just damn sick…..

Why did I give up smoking?  (That was a rhetorical question…no need for an answer)

According to a major Paris hospital study, The Guardian reports, tobacco could be preventing smokers from catching COVID-19.

“Our cross-sectional study strongly suggests that those who smoke every day are much less likely to develop a symptomatic or severe infection with Sars-CoV-2 compared with the general population,” the study reads.

The researchers did have to state the obvious: Smoking is often-fatal, and almost certainly outweighs the negative effects of COVID-19 itself.

https://futurism.com/neoscope/smoking-cigarettes-lower-risk-coronavirus

This will be a damn sight safer than Donald’s suggestion of the use of bleach.

That is my FYI for a lockdown Saturday.

Be well, be safe

Closing Thought–24Apr20

Time for a break…….

The views and news have been all about the disease that is raging across the nation……so IST thinks that maybe my readers would like a diversion of sorts.

This time it is the worst inventions of all times…….

We begin with the Segway…..

Give inventor Dean Kamen this: he’s a master of buzz. A closely guarded secret that was supposed to change the world upon its release in 2001, the Segway never brought about its promised revolution in transportation. Though the technology is pretty cool — very expensive gyroscopes make the thing nearly impossible to tip over (though George W. Bush found a way) — the Segway’s sales far underperformed vs. Kamen’s predictions. It lives on as the vehicle of choice for mall cops and lazy tourists, but the Segway’s best contribution might be as the vehicle of choice for failed magician Gob Bluth in Arrested Development.

Great inventions like New Coke, Agent Orange among others…..

Let me know which one you think is the most outrageous.

Be well and be safe…..as we get ready for another weekend in lockdown.

Operation Eagle Claw

Time for one of the old professor’s infamous history lessons…..

40 years ago today a disastrous rescue attempt was launched to save the hostages in Iran…..and it went terribly wrong…..

A U.S. effort to rescue American hostages in the U.S. Embassy in Tehran, Iran ended in failure on April 24, 1980. The Army Special Forces unit tasked with the mission was to rescue 53 hostages being detained by Iran.

The secret mission was complicated, involving the movement of the ground force element – known as Delta Force – landing in three MC-130 fixed-wing aircraft at a location called Desert One. The rendezvous location was located southeast of Tehran. At this first location the ground force would link up with eight RH-53D Sea Stallion helicopters flown by Marine pilots that took off from a Navy carrier (Nimitz) in the Arabian Sea. Once the choppers refueled the ground force (Delta) would board the helicopters and fly to new locations closer to Tehran.

During the second night the rescue party would then enter Iran’s capital city, storm the embassy compound, free the hostages, and then move them to a nearby soccer stadium. From there the hostages would be transported to a seized airstrip outside Tehran where fixed-wing aircraft would evacuate them out of the country.

Two small teams had previously entered Iran to conduct a recon of the rendezvous site in the desert, the hide sites used for the second night, the embassy, and other locations. These teams also set up a network for the transport of men, equipment, and hostages in and around the city.

The primary assault force was Delta. A unit of the 75th Ranger Regiment would provide security at Desert One. An Army Special Forces team from Det A (Berlin) – specially trained in mountain operations – would assault the foreign ministry where three diplomats were being held. There was also a small Air Force combat control team to coordinate movements on the desert landing strip.

https://www.history.com/this-day-in-history/hostage-rescue-mission-ends-in-disaster

The sad part about this failed attempt is that if it had succeeded then Reagan would be just another also ran for Carter would have most assuredly won re-election.

This is part of out history that is seldom brought up in class only when they want to blame Carter for the failure….

Another Covid Fear

WE citizens worry about a lot during this pandemic….like will my family be safe and well…..or will the food supplies be stable….and one of the most important fears….the lack of toilet paper…..there is a lot to worry about.

Just the other day I wrote a piece about our rights during this pandemic on GSFP……https://gulfsouthfreepress.wordpress.com/2020/04/22/covid-19-and-civil-rights/

But it appears that a high percentage of American citizens are truly worried about losing their freedoms because of this pandemic….and a president they cannot trust….

More than 7 in 10 voters fear losing freedoms due to the coronavirus pandemic, though exposure to the virus topped concerns overall, according to a Hill-HarrisX poll released Monday.

Eighty-three percent of registered voters in the April 6-7 survey said they are worried about being exposed to the coronavirus, while 74 percent said they are concerned about losing freedoms.

Seventy-three percent said they fear having to go to the hospital and 48 percent of voters said they are concerned about losing their job.

Thirty-five percent said they are concerned about having to re-locate due to pandemic.

https://thehill.com/hilltv/what-americas-thinking/493773-poll-74-of-voters-concerned-about-losing-freedoms-due-to-covid

And Donald the Orange makes his response sound epic and the stuff for Homer to record….when in reality he is a fart in a hurricane…..this person is as worthless as tits on a boar.

And yet the babbling morons, who illustrate the old saying “can’t fix stupid” is a profound statement……will continue to do all they can to make us less safe during this pandemic.

Instead of listening to a moron who plays a president on TV…the nation, the entire nation should be listening to the pros on this pandemic…..

Dr. Anthony Fauci had a word of caution Monday for protesters around the US pushing to reopen states as quickly as possible. That word was “backfire.” In an appearance on Good Morning America, Fauci acknowledged that the coronavirus was doing real damage to the economy. “But unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery economically is not going to happen,” he said, reports the Hill. Fauci reiterated that states should follow guidelines laid out by the White House for phased reopenings, based on testing data. “So what you do if you jump the gun and go into a situation where you have a big spike, you’re going to set yourself back,” he said. “It’s going to backfire. That’s the problem.”

Instead this gutless person blames everybody but the person at the center of fault….himself……

The “Radical Left” and “Do Nothing Democrats” first “screamed” about ventilators,” he wrote. “Now they scream ….’Testing, Testing, Testing,’ again playing a very dangerous political game.”

The Anti-Lockdown Movement

Thanx to the rhetoric from Donald the Orange we have a new movement…..the anti-lockdown movement.

First it is not a movement.

If you’ve watched Fox News recently, you might think there’s a small revolution afoot in Red America.

A series of anti-social-distancing rallies have popped up across the country — in Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, and elsewhere. As my colleague Jane Coaston noted, it harks back to the Tea Party craze in 2009, “when well-funded right-leaning groups lit a fire under an already outraged Republican base and helped to ignite a political movement.”

Except it’s not really that at all.

The Tea Party was never representative of the country, but it was at least fairly representative of the Republican Party. That’s just not true of these anti-lockdown protests. Astonishingly, as Vox’s Laura McGann argued, Americans are mostly united in their willingness to social distance Republicans included. The impression you get watching some of the coverage on Fox News, however, suggests that we’re witnessing a popular revolt against draconian public health measures.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2020/4/22/21227928/coronavirus-social-distancing-lockdown-trump-tea-party

Why when some protesters show up at a pipeline sight so does the National Guard. armed police and all sorts of warfare vehicles and yet when morons show up with guns at a state capital these law enforcement goons are no where to be found?  Why is that?

The good news around this situation is that most Americans do not agree with these idiots.

Despite wall-to-wall corporate media coverage of anti-social distancing demonstrations in Michigan, Texas, and other parts of the U.S., new polling from CBS News shows that the vast majority of Americans oppose demands from the protesters who are demanding that U.S. businesses be reopened as soon as possible despite the coronavirus pandemic.

The survey, which has a margin of error of 2.5 points, found that 63% of the 2,112 respondents polled were concerned that the U.S. economy would reopen too quickly—not too slowly.

The poll results come as some Republican governors are pushing to reopen states in the coming days. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp said Monday he would allow some businesses to reopen on April 24, nearly a week before the state’s stay-at-home order officially ends. Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms, a Democrat, urged residents on Wednesday to “look at the science” and stay home despite Kemp’s order.

https://www.commondreams.org/news/2020/04/23/majority-americans-reject-astroturf-anti-lockdown-protests-say-social-distancing

Personally those pushing this issue should be held accountable when it goes all wrong and the virus takes more Americans.  Plus if the get sick and die then their families should be held for assisted suicide.

There should be a price for stupidity.
