Twenty-Five Years Later: A Look Back at ‘The Other Good War’ « Antiwar.com Blog

Time for a short recent history lesson…..I do this because Americans have a terribly short memory when it comes to history…….we need reminding from time to time…..and the time is now……..

Twenty five years ago this month was the first Gulf War……another conflict for the good of the region……take a look back and you decide what is good and what is not……

Keep in mind…..the same reason for our current “Good War” is being fought was used in the first one…….it only ended after the fiasco of the “Highway of death”….don’t know….LOOK IT UP!

If It Is NOT Negative, Do Not Report It!

I have explained in the past of my connection with the Palestinian people……for that reason I watch just about everything that is happening in the region that concerns the Palestinians……

I have also pointed out that the Western media seems to refuse to report on anything positive when it is done bout the Palestinians…..we here about the crazed Arab that slashes a knife into a crowd or the taxi driver that sped into a group of Israelis…..so forth and so on…….

Is there nothing positive coming out of the West bank?

To answer my own question….there is plenty of positive incidents but for some reason they are not important enough for the US MSM to bother with the reporting there of…….

I recently, about a year ago, wrote about the Palestinians villagers that step up to protect an Israeli family in  car that had gotten post and were being threatened with stoning…….the villagers got between the protesters and the family and protected them from harm…..NOTHING in the media about this……….

Now several other incidents have come to light…..

On 03August2016…….as reported ……….

Palestinians prevented fellow villagers from lynching 14 settler youths in Kusra on Tuesday afternoon and called in the IDF to rescue the Jewish group, who had been cornered in a construction site and beaten.

According to a security source, Palestinians held the settlers for more than 40 minutes before soldiers and border police arrived. The security personnel then spent more than 90 minutes negotiating their release.According to a security source, Palestinians held the settlers for more than 40 minutes before soldiers and border police arrived. Sadly, I do not think that most Israelis would be as courteous as these Palestinians….but I am not finished……..

This came across via Twitter……….

I ask the media why these acts of heroism by Palestinians are seldom reported?  Yet a lone knife wielder is covered ad nauseum……why?

Is it that the media and its controlling corporations are pro-Israel…….to the point of manipulating the news given?  I know the answer….do you?

I am a supporter of the BDS movement…..you should be also…..demand justice for a people that is getting NONE from the world around them……..

Obama: Calculating 2016?

Anyone with half a brain (and there are many) have watched the GOP circus and most find it disgusting…….but our present prez will be making a speech that should add sufficient fuel to the clown car primaries……..

To expand his legacy he will be making a major climate change statement…….and we know how the idiots think of climate change, huh?

But Obama will let loose the fodder for the reaction……

President Obama will impose even steeper cuts on greenhouse gas emissions from US power plants than previously expected, senior administration officials said today, in what the president called the most significant step the US has ever taken to fight global warming. A year after proposing unprecedented carbon dioxide limits, Obama was poised to finalize the rule at a White House event tomorrow. In a video posted to Facebook, Obama said the limits were backed up by decades of data showing that without tough action, the world will face more extreme weather and escalating health problems like asthma. “Climate change is not a problem for another generation,” Obama says. “Not anymore.”

Opponents vowed to sue immediately, and planned to ask the courts to put the rule on hold while legal challenges play out. Many states have threatened not to comply. In his initial proposal, Obama had mandated a 30% nationwide cut in carbon dioxide emissions by 2030, compared to 2005 levels. The final version will require a 32% cut instead, say the officials, who weren’t authorized to comment by name and requested anonymity. Environmental groups cheered the toughened rule, and Hillary Clinton vowed to defend it if she’s elected to replace him. The final rule also gives states extra time to submit plans and comply, but the administration will attempt to encourage states to take action earlier by offering credits to those that boost renewable sources like wind and solar.

Will the GOP loonies take the bait and go off to batcrap crazy land?

And if a Dem somehow wins in 2016 will these perimeters be upheld?  Is this just fodder for a campaign or is this something that will be realistic enough to work towards?

Far From The Babbling Crowd

AS the GOP debate approaches………

Yep there are 17 GOP candidates in search of the nomination in 2016……so far it has been a comedy of dunces….theater of the absurd……..but with this many candidates the craziness could go on for an extended amount of time…..right?

Not really……….

Having trouble keeping track of all the Republican candidates? Dreading a protracted fight that keeps generating headlines right through the GOP convention next July? Have no fear because things will be nicely wrapped up before then, writes David Avella at Real Clear Politics. On March 1, 2016, to be exact. “Mark it on your calendar as when we will know who the Republican nominee for president will be.” His logic: After the February contests in Iowa, New Hampshire, and South Carolina, the field will be narrowed to three, max. Then comes March 1, when more than a dozen states vote, and the winner will then be clear.

“After March 1, there will undoubtedly be candidates and their supporters who refuse to acknowledge that a final verdict has been handed down,” writes Avella. “It won’t matter.” The frontrunner after the March 1 contests will be unofficially “ratified” on March 15 when Ohio, Florida, and other states vote. Forget any talk you hear of a brokered convention. “The Republican penchant for order and clarity will evidence itself,” writes Avella, a GOP national strategist. “Republicans love an orderly process. That is who Republican voters are.” Click for the full post.

By March there should be a significant fewer candidates…..and hopefully they will be serious about governing and not about trying to be the most outrageous………we will have to see if this holds up……

Darker Horizons Ahead by Ramzy Baroud — Antiwar.com

Americans are starting to ask questions about the latest war that our government has so politely got the country into……..questions that should have been asked a year or more ago……the government gives no enlightenment on why…….they choose to ignore the conflict until they cannot and then they use the media to downplay an negativity and the media happily misinforms the public.

Americans need to stand up to the neocons that prefer endless war to appease their money givers, the M-IC,…………but before they demand answer they need to educate themselves on the Middle East situation to avoid being duped……..

So much has happened after what the media labelled, the Arab Spring, and much of it is violence and conflict……

Step forward and be the first on your block to understand the situation……
