Americans will soon be asked to make a choice of who they think will make the best president…….most of us will vote for the least objectionable candidate……we seldom find a candidate that fulfills all our expectations for a president….
Maybe, just maybe, we should look beyond personality and bravado to find our presidents……I know…..but it is just a thought…

America has enough problems of her own and Her own share of downtrodden, hungry and needy people as it is and I don’t think we should be sending foreign aid to overseas destinations unless and until we can be assured that the country is going to receive some kind of return for the investment. I know foreign is a relatively small amount of our national expenditure but I still think even that small amount ought to be cut back a lot more and allow the money to stay here at home to help those who need help. I don’t believe that many of the countries we send aid to really care a damned bit about anything except what they can suck out of us and once they get it I don’t think they have a bit more respect for us than they did before they got the aid.
You are right and another position is that NOT all situations need the military response….
We need to let Generals and Admirals run the military and get the inexperienced ideologues out of the command chairs.
If we had listened to the generals…we would not be ass deep in the Middle East or paying for the F-35…..a great idea but NO prez will listen to anyone but the ones that are pulling the strings….

The election process has changed; the president is chosen by computer from among the most qualified people, with the primary characteristic to be sought of ‘he doesn’t want the job’, and, to get them to do it at all, they had to be promised time off for doing a good job.
I always thought it was a good idea….It is a clear sign of sociopathy to desire that much power; why would any SANE person WANT it? They don’t; only the insane want to have that much control over others, to assuage their fears of inadequacy….
