It’s Those Damn Anarchists

College of Political Knowledge

Subject:  Government/Anarchism

Paper #36

Recently in the news I heard a couple of media types mention that protesters were anarchists….and I began thinking about the comment or slur, depending on your thought process……

So you think you know what an anarchist is, right?  Believe me, what you think you know is wrong……the very mention of the word conjures up images of crazy eyed, bomb throwing, hairy, smelly social dissenters…..am I right?  The idea that an anarchist is somehow a ‘terrorist’, to use a 21st century word, is just wrong and came to be associated with acts of terror in the late 19th century by the media…that is right!  The media is the source of the lie….go figure……

The word Anarchy and Anarchism are NOT the same!  Anarchy conjures up those images of chaos, confusion and disorder…….few Anarchist actually support this and if anything believe that the elimination of government will incite the very things that they are accused of committing….Anarchists believe that humans have out grown the need for government….if they ever needed it in the first place.  Because they believe in human self-government, then they believe it is a pure form of democracy…..an in so they reject any trend that demands that the people submit to a government on what is accepted behavior.  In a more generalized way, Anarchists want to maximize human liberty.  For that reason, anarchists view freedom as an absolute and freedom to them means an achievement of personal autonomy.  So their view of democracy is that it should be direct participation of the people and a radical decentralization.

All forms of authority are unnecessary.  It is exploitative, oppressive and destructive.  And any so-called ‘checks and balances’ are nothing more than a bogus concept at best.

The entity known as ‘the nation’, to anarchists, is a tainted entity because of its association with the entity known as the state and in so also is equated with oppression.  They see the nation as designed to teach and enforce obedience to the ruling class.  Thus the state, is coercive, and compulsory and works for the benefit of the propertied, powerful and  privileged of any given society and they are ALL a like.

In the economic sphere…anarchist believe that any form of economic control should be rejected out right….while those on the Left believe in common ownership or self-management and those on the Right look for completely unregulated market economy……

For the most part, anarchists are individuals that feel that man has moved past the days for the necessity of government, especially large encumbered government….so those screaming the loudest about a smaller government of less intrusion into personal lives,  are in essence ‘anarchists’….like it or not YOU are an ANARCHIST!

Does Politics Make You Randy?

There are a lot of things in life that gives one a burning desire for sex or sexual related situations….I mean I love politics and political debate…..but it has never made me horny to the point that this article reports….From the Newser website..

A fun theory called the Challenge Hypothesis states that testosterone levels get a jolt after a person wins at something—and it’s held true when applied to everything from aggressive lizards to British soccer fans. Now two psychology professors have tested it on politics and porn, and their forthcoming study finds that those who back the winner look at more online porn than those who were rooting for the loser. “The results were very consistent,” Patrick Markey tells Aol News.

Markey and wife Charlotte looked at the relative popularity of 10 porn- and boob-esque keywords according to Google Trends in the weeks after the 2004, 2006, and 2008 elections. In 2004, such searches were up 2% in red states; in 2006 and 2008, they were up 3% in blue states. “That 2 to 3 percent may not seem like a lot,” Markey says. But when you consider that Google has 2 billion searches from US IP addresses per week, a 3% swing is 60 million more searches for porn. And while Markey acknowledges that correlation doesn’t equal causation, he says he’s found a “remarkably consistent” correlation—that he’ll test again, post-November. Click here for more.

Apparently over the years I have missed out somehow…..just my luck!

It’s A Family Thing

The mid-term campaigns are in full bloom…idiocy…silliness…..are the rule of the day.  Voters are inundated with what Spaniards called “Mierda”…..from all directions….phone calls….door greets….Mall appearances…the fools are everywhere….and all want your vote  so they can go to Washington and get their piece of the pie…..whoever named it the “silly season” was a very wise person….

All the pomp and ceremony of the elections has become boring…even for a politics junkie like me…..there is only so much BS that one can stand…especially if you have an IQ above “tickle me Elmo”……but just when I thought I was about over the stuff……I was mistaken!

Bloomberg has a report that just tickles the crap out of me….Thanx to Traci McMillan for the article……

President Barack Obama is distantly related to two of his most outspoken critics — Tea Party favorite Sarah Palin and talk-radio host Rush Limbaugh — as well as to former President George W. Bush, according to a genealogy website.

Family trees revealed Obama and Palin, the former Alaska Governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, are 10th cousins through common ancestor John Smith, according to Ancestry.com Inc. Smith was Obama’s and Palin’s 12th-great- grandfather. Smith, a Protestant pastor, was an early settler in Massachusetts and was criticized by the ecclesiastical community for supporting Quakers, said Anastasia Tyler, a genealogist for the website.

Obama and Limbaugh are 10th cousins once removed through shared connections to Richmond Terrell, a Virginia settler who came to America in the mid-1600s, Tyler said.

The family-tree website also found that Palin is related to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, a Nevada Democrat, and author and commentator Ann Coulter. The three are tied to John Lathrop, an Englishman who was banished to Boston after he served as minister of an illegal church independent of the Church of England, Tyler said.

Just I have thought for decades….and now there is PROOF……Politics is ALL one big, power hungry family……

Is This The Future?

We hear in the media that the young candidates, win or lose, are the future leaders of our country and that we should be paying attention at what they have to say….because they will be the ones making policy…one day…..

The link below flies into the face of that absurdity…..

Christine O’Donnell’s WILD debate performance. http://huff.to/9xTXLm

Remember:  “If you get enough stupid in one place, you can elect anybody”

Is This The Politics You Want?

From the VOMITORIUM

The 2010 mid terms are a wealth of crap!  There are candidates on both sides that if their IQ ever gets to a 100, I suggest they sell and start over….I have never in my 40+ years of political observations seen such a wide array of morons, idiots and perverts running for office…..

I mean we have had all sorts of attacks, personal ones especially, this candidate is a witch…that one is gay…that one is sexually active….this one is a rubber stamp…this one…..well you know on and on and on and……..all total CRAP!

But this one is my fav as far as stupidity goes…….

Vote for Him and He’ll Kill Your Dog http://pwire.at/cdK569

It just gets worse the closer we get to election day, Nov. 2, 2010……the sad part is that some of it is working on the voter….does that surprise you?  Really?  To me it makes perfect sense because the population is so concerned with gossip and mindless dribble…..a society that makes stupidity like Jackass..the movie a hit….or reality shows like Jersey Shore…a hit….or Dancing with the stars a must see TV program…..and a society that thinks poker is a sport……appeals to an electorate that has an IQ that matches their shoe size……WE ARE DOOMED!

The Government Is Coming For You

For years we have thought that those on the Right that were concerned about the government becoming a dictatorship and doing unmentionable things like home invasions, gun confiscation, literature confiscation, and so on….we have looked the other way when it was against people that we deem ‘terrorists’ and then in the same breath condemn it when it is someone like those that support the Tea Party and its affiliates…..but the truth is that it could very well be a real concern and NOT an unwarranted fear…..

This from the wsws.org website……

The raids carried out by the FBI against antiwar activists last week are an ominous warning to the entire working class. The police-state tactics show the extent to which basic democratic rights—including the right to free speech and political association—have been undermined in the US.The Obama administration ordered the invasion of the homes of several individuals—primarily members of the Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO)—and the seizure of documents, computers, cell phones, cameras and other personal and political material. Those targeted have been summoned to appear before a grand jury on October 12 and may face criminal prosecution for “material support” for terrorism.

What is the rationale for these actions? There are vague and unsubstantiated allegations of visits to groups that the US government officially designates as “terrorist.” These designations are entirely guided by the requirements at any given time of US foreign policy—that is, organizations are deemed to be “terrorist” depending on whether they are supporting or opposing US interests in the Middle East, Latin America or other parts of the globe.

Under attack is not simply one organization. The government and its array of military-police agencies aim to expand the criminalization of dissent in the United States.

The move by the FBI and the Obama administration is intended as a trial balloon. They seek to create a precedent as well as gauge the reaction from the public and from the media. On the last score, the administration is no doubt pleased with the response: near-universal silence. The newspapers have buried the story, and the television news has not covered it. The New York Times, the voice of the liberal establishment, printed a small article on its inside pages.

Why are there so much fear and loathing on the Right……and why is there NOTHING said about an obvious attack on civil rights?  Civil Rights are NOT just for those who think like Michele Bachmann or O’Donnell……..This whole episode takes me back to the days in the 70’s during protests when COINTELPRO was used to set aside people’s civil rights in the name of security…

Can you smell that?  That is the smell of approaching civil unrest…….

The breakdown of American democracy is inextricably linked to the growing social crisis in the United States itself. Inequality in the US is at record heights. The financial aristocracy has exploited a crisis of its own making to vastly enrich itself. It is now demanding that the bill be paid by the working class in the form of wage cuts, mass unemployment and austerity.

Something has GOT to change!  And the upcoming elections is NOT going to be that change!

Can There Be Peace?

International Studies desk

To answer the question…….(roll on ground with a painful belly laugh)…..

About a month ago or so, there was new hope for a possible peace in the Middle East….all Obama’s people worked really hard to put together a face to face meeting between the Israelis and the Palestinians….and as usual there were problems from the start…..  the usual suspects…settlements…rocket attacks…..etc……but it went ahead and the talks were making a small amount of progress and then the usual roadblock ….

From CNN International…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday he would renew a temporary halt of settlement construction in the West Bank in exchange for Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas had threatened to abandon Mideast peace talks without an extension of the settlement moratorium, which expired last month.

The Palestinians have consistently rejected recognizing Israel as the nation state for the Jewish people, maintaining that it is up to Israelis themselves to define what their state is.Palestinians also believe that offering such recognition would compromise the position of Palestinian refugees who either fled or were forced from their homes upon the creation of the state of Israel, as Israel could maintain the refugees had no right to return there.

There you have it sports fans….the same bullsh*t…time and time again….NOTHING ever changes!  You would think that the idiots that are putting thewse lame attempts at peace would work this issue out completely before venturing into a process that is doomed from the beginning.

I want peace in the ME…you probably do to……average Pals do….average Israelis do…..then someone….anyone needs to find common ground and start there…stop all this screaming silliness and the pretend concern for peace!  Do these players know how absurd they appear to the rest of the world?

I could go further but it would piss off the Jews and Arabs alike…….if both parties want peace then they would find that common ground and we would have peace now….but instead that just keep playing the same song with the same end….like a really putrid country song….

Famed Israeli general and statesman Moshe Dayan said……

“If you want to make peace, you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.”

Sounds like perfect advice…too bad most are too stupid to see it……

Is It Really Pro-Life?

College of Political Knowledge

Subject:  Government/Politics/

Lecture #6

Preface:  Before I get into the meat of this post I need to clarify something……I am pro-life….but that is where it ends….I would not presume to inflict my beliefs on anyone over a purely private and personal matter….I had to say that before the eye rolls and the emotional ravings started……

Many people see the fetus as a living entity at the moment of conception and in that it has rights and is an unforgivable sin to abort said pregnancy….but as soon as that chilkd leaves the womb he/she becomes one of those sponges that is leeching off the state…in other words they are important until they are born and then they become part of another narrative…that being a drain on our valuable resources….

And these same people are pro war and pro capital punishment….both of which take lives….we can argue about the justification of either war or execution, which I will not venture to do….. but when we get down to the basic premise…it is the taking of a life….plain and simple……so where are the pro-lifers and their concern for the sanctity of human life?

I recently saw an article that put forth the premise that a fetus after 12 weeks (I believe) would feel pain during the abortion process….which pro-lifers use to justify their position on the issue….but yet most of these same people are pro torture…..they will justify the difference by saying that the fetus is a helpless entity that has no choice…well, people try torture!  You are helpless and have no choice, either.

My problem is that if one is going to use the pro-life handle then it should apply to all life, not just the one that is convenient…that if human life is sacred, then ALL human life is sacred…..

What Are Human Rights?

College of Political Knowledge

Subject:  Political Philosophy/Political Theory

Paper #35

Recently, Quin of Quintessential Havoc (an insightful thoughts that can be accessed from the blogroll) were having an exchange on the subject of human rights and as usual it got me thinking of the subject from a political philosophical point of view….the subject is one of those subjective things that normally means what the person talking wants it to mean…and yes…that would also pertain to me….for I do NOT have the secret knowledge that some of the others claim to possess.

Some claim that a welfare payment is a human right…while others think that democracy is a human right or…..well pick a thingy and someone will believe that it is a human right…..so, what is a human right?

A generic definition would be…..rights to which people are entitled by virtue of being human….universal and fundamental rights…..how is that?

Actually the term ‘human rights’ did not mean much until the 18th century and the “Age of Enlightenment” up until then it was discussed under the umbrella of  ‘natural rights’, if discussed at all.

So what rights can be called ‘human rights’?  to begin with….the right to life…basically, the right to receive the material necessary and essential for life (now this can be debated as to what is meant by ‘essential’…and it is already).  Second, FREEDOM….freedom in a generalized way…the freedom of thought, religion, association and movement are the ones that come quickly to mind.  And thirdly, PROPERTY….(this one is self-explanatory).  Fourth, are laws that concern the individual’s status as a citizen…these would include democratic rights (voting, etc).  The fifth in the series, RULE of LAW…..this would be the equal administration of the laws of the land…no arbitrary arrest and the right to a fair trail……there you go…..these are the rights that come to my mind when I hear the term used.

And yes, there are a few of them that can be debated on their precise meaning and that is for those above my pay grade…..but simply put…if a person understands the concepts then their rights cannot be taken from them…..

Thoughts Of The Week #2

Once again I will take a bit of time off and do the things that I have neglecting for many years….but I cannot leave my blog alone of a single day…yes, I am HOOKED!  Here is your quotes of the week and if you read it then check out the political situation in the country…then I would say someone was very astute……

Wisdom stands at the turn in the road and calls upon us publicly, but we consider it false and despise its adherents.
Kahlil Gibran

Ignorance is the curse of God; knowledge is the wing wherewith we fly to heaven.
William Shakespeare

Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion obtains no hold on the mind.
