Can There Be Peace?

International Studies desk

To answer the question…….(roll on ground with a painful belly laugh)…..

About a month ago or so, there was new hope for a possible peace in the Middle East….all Obama’s people worked really hard to put together a face to face meeting between the Israelis and the Palestinians….and as usual there were problems from the start…..  the usual suspects…settlements…rocket attacks…..etc……but it went ahead and the talks were making a small amount of progress and then the usual roadblock ….

From CNN International…

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday he would renew a temporary halt of settlement construction in the West Bank in exchange for Palestinian recognition of Israel as a Jewish state.Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas had threatened to abandon Mideast peace talks without an extension of the settlement moratorium, which expired last month.

The Palestinians have consistently rejected recognizing Israel as the nation state for the Jewish people, maintaining that it is up to Israelis themselves to define what their state is.Palestinians also believe that offering such recognition would compromise the position of Palestinian refugees who either fled or were forced from their homes upon the creation of the state of Israel, as Israel could maintain the refugees had no right to return there.

There you have it sports fans….the same bullsh*t…time and time again….NOTHING ever changes!  You would think that the idiots that are putting thewse lame attempts at peace would work this issue out completely before venturing into a process that is doomed from the beginning.

I want peace in the ME…you probably do to……average Pals do….average Israelis do…..then someone….anyone needs to find common ground and start there…stop all this screaming silliness and the pretend concern for peace!  Do these players know how absurd they appear to the rest of the world?

I could go further but it would piss off the Jews and Arabs alike…….if both parties want peace then they would find that common ground and we would have peace now….but instead that just keep playing the same song with the same end….like a really putrid country song….

Famed Israeli general and statesman Moshe Dayan said……

“If you want to make peace, you don’t talk to your friends. You talk to your enemies.”

Sounds like perfect advice…too bad most are too stupid to see it……
