Run for the border….not a Taco Bell ad but rather people fleeing all sorts of violence and danger……sorry but I cannot see what all the whoopla is about……people come and people go……..but thanx to morons in the militias it is turning into hate and it is turning into a racist situation…….(I have an op-ed piece later about my encounter with a militia type….please check it out)………
We have many small children heading to the border looking for a better life….contrary to what the morons in Right wing radio would have you believe…..and then I read this piece…….in Raw Story…….
A militia group is calling on supporters to patrol the Texas-Mexico border to guard against drug gangs and illegal immigrants.
The citizen militia operation, called “Secure Our Border – Laredo,” is urging members to voluntarily guard private property near the border town along the Rio Grande, where some residents have felt threatened by drug cartels and other gangs.
Conservative publications have warned that a recent surge in undocumented children and other immigrants has carried infectious disease across the border and poses an existential threat to the U.S.
A spokeswoman for the militia group told the Brownsville Herald that members would not engage in violence, and the group’s leader – who calls himself Commander Chris “Threepercenter” Davis – has cautioned against violent actions or racist comments.
“This is not a ‘go-in-guns-blazing’ kind of thing,” said spokeswoman Denice Freeman. “This will be handled with the utmost professionalism and security and safety for everyone involved.”
But a 21-minute video that was apparently posted June 14 by Davis encourages militia members to threaten suspected illegal immigrants to secure the border.
“You see an illegal,” Davis says in the video. “You point your gun dead at him, right between his eyes, and you say, ‘Get back across the border or you will be shot.’”
He also urged militia members to “start the next 1776 right there on the border” if they were confronted by law enforcement authorities.
“It is time that we start taking back our national sovereignty,” Davis says.
I have a hard time with vigilante justice……..I have a hard time with twats that want to play army but are too much a coward to join the military……I have a hard time when Americans start acting like the “Brown Shirts” from Nazi Germany…….
It’ll never happen, but if Mexicans and Latinos took a 3 month holiday from working in the US, and the cost of labor went up 2x or 3x, I bet a lot of the border vigilantes would change their tune.
I don’t know a racist will suffer a lot to make his point……..Alabama had to change its illegal workers statute because there was no one to pull the crops….
I wish MY nation (Canada) had a fence on its southern border that was so impenetrable, it even kept out every toxic idea trying to move north. Sadly, it does not.
Sadly, whacky ideas find there way into the substance of society…it is like sand in that aspect……
If you don’t live on the border you really aren’t seeing the truth, do you believe what you hear a read anymore? I don’t.
I feel sorry for the farmers that have to find the bodies of the dead because the coyotes lied and told them to wait until they return and they never do return. Or the families that didn’t prepare for their trek into the desert. I don’t know why they want to become citizens when they do there are taxes to pay. Who wants to donate to a failing system?
Change our welfare system back to the Clinton era.

Maybe Kerry lives along the border and sees what is happening and thant nothing is being done. There are gang members, under 18, that are also allowed through.The MSM doesn’t report anything until a plane lands in an unprepared state. I wonder how many of these children will be flown to the Hamptons, Star Island, Chicago or DC?
Most will be returned to country of origin…..depending on the law that Bush signed into effect….I have heard the gang thing many times but the only actual reporting is on sites that I do not rust…..his attitude is typical if I do not agree with him then I need to be silenced…..I could have trashed his comment but I do allow differences of opinion…..I appreciate people that care but militias are not the way to go…..it is feeding paranoia….at least to me….
Remember Obama has a phone and a pen. Obama could change that law. I am not sure most will be returned, why would they show up for their hearings? I wouldn’t.
I believe most will be held where they can be ob served…..but I am sure some will slip away….as for the pen…I believe there is to be a law suit against him for doing just that….
I hope they are held and get a Dr. check up. If some of these children are carrying a communicable diseases, it should be caught before they leave the state.
Boehner needs to go. In fact, they all need to go.
