Jill Stein Should Be Part of a 4-Way Presidential Debate

It is only a matter of weeks before we have our first debate between the Mouth and The Warmonger….but to be fair there should be two other candidates in this debate…Gary Johnson and Dr, Jill Stein……

If a candidate is on the state’s ballot then they should be part of the process…..polling should have nothing to do with the debates…..

After the Republicans and Democrats finished their conventions in late July, the Green Party gathered this month to nominate Dr. Jill Stein for the presidency.

fter the Republicans and Democrats finished their conventions in late July, the Green Party gathered this month to nominate Dr. Jill Stein for the presidency. Stein’s campaign—with her party on ballot lines in the majority of states, and her poll numbers surging ahead of Green numbers from recent presidential elections—has the potential to be a breakthrough bid for the Greens, and for a more robust democracy.

Stein recognized the prospect in an optimistic yet urgent acceptance speech in which she spoke of “unstoppable momentum for transformational change.” The candidate who talks of ushering in a “Green New Deal” told the Green Party Convention that the party has “an historic opportunity, an historic responsibility to be the agents of that change. As Martin Luther King said, ‘the arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice.’ I know that arc is bending in us, and through us. And we are actors in something much bigger than us as we struggle for justice, for peace, for community, for healing.”

This would be fair and balanced….but we all know that the political process has nothing to do with “fair and balanced”……and the media will not do the right thing….they want to be the “king maker”…..so qualified candidates will not be part of the debates..

Everyone these days see the problems with this system and yet they do NOTHING to see it changed……debates with all qualified candidates would go a long way to help change occur…..

Stein and Johnson have earned the right to be part of this process…..

  1. Frankly, if she can turn this election back into a discussion of real issues rather then the current state of monkeys flinging poo at each other then get her on the mic!

  2. Chuq, I didn’t get further than your first sentence and burst out laughing! 🙂 Mouth and Warmonger! Really.

I do agree with your statement that all candidates should be on the debates. To let a poll decide who can debate, is beyond comprehension.

Of course, NOTHING will be done. The media is having their best campaign EVER!

And the politicians will be committing political suicide if they change one letter in their own programs. That’s why the Geriatrics have to go!! I think I’m repeating myself. 🙂

      1. I watched an interview and she seems terribly naive on military matters and the geopolitics of a frightful world. Real flower child of the 60’s. Not what we need.

    1. To continue. I so agree, never mind the candidates feelings, not including them HURTS America and is totally BIASED. WoW who could have seen that coming. I’ve looked into both the alternates and I’m going with Stein too. I know, I know, I keep saying I’m writing-in Bernie….and it still is tempting but it will do about as much good as my threat to write-in myself. I did have the start of the makings of a good Cabinet though.

I could understand that the Primary Debates had to be weeded down but the actual election; THERE IS NOT EXCUSE. I’m taking most of tomorrow to try and email and/or write the broadcasting venues with this opinion AND TO DO MY LITTLE PART; I’m re-blogging this on my puny site and emailing your post to many of my friends and enemies even. If I think they will consider it…..I’m going for it. ~~dru~~

      1. dru thanx for the re-blog and also for trying to do what you can…that is all anyone can ask of you…..well done. chuq

      1. Like most good ole boys who can claim Southern Heritage (My Momma was born in Bond, Kentucky in 1900) I do not “Hate” Obama but I do not approve of some of his later positions and especially his sell out of American Labor by his support of TPP. I strongly object to some of his positions on issues … very strongly … but I wouldn’t say it rises to hatred for the individual who never had any control over his heritage. I do recall he was a rather regular attendee at the Church of Rev. Wright ( a fellow Christian) so no — I do not “Hate” Obama at all … nope!

      2. Everybody in my family was born in the South…..the real South…Mississippi…..his heritage has nothing to do with his politics….how do you talk about people you dislike?

      3. I talk about a lot of people I dislike. I wasn’t in love with Stalin, Hitler, Tojo, Castro, or Noriega either but I talked about them sometimes. Talking about people is part and parcel of the First Amendment. Talking about “The Real South” is like talking about Red States and Blue States. In my book anything south of The Ohio Border is “The Real” South and Kentucky even had plantations.

      4. WE have just 2 years ago in a small town …they were arrested for making lewd comments and somehow wound up hanging from a tree…..welcome to the “New South”…..

      5. His heritage has everything to do with his politics because a person can never escape the effects of heritage and heritage is always reflected in the individual’s politics. There are no exceptions.

  4. Most elections include on the ballot a lot more candidates than the top two, or in this case, the top four. While I agree that the debate should be more expansive than the top two, the idea that it should include anybody on the ballot is a recipe for anarchy and chaos.

  5. During California’s recall election in 2003, there were something like 34 candidates on the ballot to become governor if the recall was successful. If there had been a debate, should all of them have been included.
