I have dragged myself into the gutter with those that use insulting words to talk about others…..I had not realized just how bad it had gotten until another blogger pointed it out to me…..I was a bit pissed at first but as we exchanged thoughts I could see where he/she was going and he/she was right (thanx you…..the lonelyauthorblog)…….. and I shall try to do better in the future.
Yesterday I read something that just cheesed my grits…..do you remember during one of the Democratic debates when Clinton was asked about the enemies that she was proud to have? Her response was Republicans. That sent the net into I stroke on the Right….she was belittled for her answer saying that Americans should not be a presidential wannabe’s enemies……
Yesterday, as I said, I read a piece about something Sen. Ted Cruz had to say…..
Texas Sen. Ted Cruz claimed Monday during a radio appearance that “the overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats.”
The Republican presidential contender told radio host Hugh Hewitt that Democrats — aided by a “salivating” media — attempt to use mass killings to damage
“Every time you have some sort of violent crime or mass killing, you could almost see the media salivating, hoping desperately that the murderer happens to be a Republican so they can use it to try to paint their political enemies,” Cruz said.
He continued: “Now, listen, here’s the simple and undeniable facts: The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats. The media doesn’t report that.”

I realize that it is fashionable to blame the media for all your perceived wrongs but a blanket statement like this is what he, among others, we bitching about when Clinton answered the debate question last month….
This is the type of stuff that can make a rational person go ballistic…..even if I were a conservative it is statements like that that would make me look elsewhere for a candidate to support.
This is one reason I have NO faith in the system anymore….when wild statements are held up as somehow a characteristic of a good candidate…..all it shows me is the shallowness of the American voter.
Elections are now about a candidate’s performance not substance……
I weep for this country’s future.
That is sad……I understand,as through sheer frustration one can get pretty angry……my press has not been good lately either ….since I have not been able to tolerate stupidity…fact is, there is no substance…..not even here as I watch the government’s decision ……it seems only through suffering that people gain substance. Sad but a fact….others of course become vengeful and bitter….and so the cycle repeats itself.

I don’t think my fellow crazy Canuck, Ted Cruz, is actually wrong on this one. (There’s a first time for everything.) Sure, Republicans do love their guns a bit more than Democrats. However, most violent criminals probably ARE (unregistered) Democrats. Why? A mix of stats & logic.
1) Perhaps the biggest factor is that so few Americans are actually Republicans. Republicans only get half the votes of the 50% of Americans that still bother to vote. And of that 25-ish %, I’ll hazard a guess that half vote Republican based on 1-2 issues. Either that, or they’re just caught up in the mass insanity known as “American Democracy”. Most people have been rendered so drunk & stupid, they can’t even vote straight. They get distracted by red herrings and completely forget about the issues. They act like dogs that have just seen a squirrel.(See: Swiftboat Veterans for Complete Irrelevancy)
In recent years, polls of Republicans have been showing large percentages of them (if not majorities) are more in line with Democratic party policy stances…provided you strip the label “Democrat” off of them.
As for non-voters, studies have long showed correlations between economic status and voter turnout (more $ = more turnout). That also applies to party affiliation. (more $ = more right leaning) I have no way of knowing what the true stats on this are, but logic dictates that criminals tend to be disenfranchised both economically and politically. This is Democratic territory. So, If these folks were forced to pick between 2 unlabelled platforms on a wide range of issues, it is logical to think most would pick the Democratic platform.
2) Then there’s the nature of the crime. Income & status drives crime as well. Physical crime tends to be more blue collar, thus more Blue. True Republicans tend to favour the less-vilified White Collar crime; the financial frauds, the sub-prime mortgages, Wall Street, etc. True Republicans are capitalists by nature. And when they DO opt for violence, they usually hire Democrats to do the dirty work for them.
And then there’s the protection of status. What gets considered a crime is often a crime in itself. There is a legal bias that punishes crimes disproportionately. Republican favoured crimes are often not even considered crimes, even if they result in violence.
As an example, let’s look at one well known act violence perpetrated by a Republican gang of criminals. In order to kill ONE DUDE, they flooded the media with their (lie filled) pretext for his murder, attempting to legitimize their murderous intentions in the public’s mind. Then they used the massive resources at their disposal to enlist hundreds of thousands of Bluer Collar folk to kill this dude. In the carnage that ensued, they killed & maimed well over 100,000 innocent bystanders before finally killing their target. Not only was his killing determined “perfectly legal”, the deaths of all the other corpses were excused too. In fact, even after their entire pretext for this murder was proven a lie, even after numerous other crimes they committed had also been exposed…..Never mind convicted, this Republican band of violent criminals were not so much as charged for their crimes! (Hopefully, everyone has figured out what band of violent criminals I’m talking about.)
And with all that being said, Ted Cruz is an idiot who (even despite being right) is still dead wrong! This isn’t about some “liberal media conspiracy” to cover up the fact that Democrats are violent lawbreakers. This is about the growing numbers of disenfranchised people in America, both politically & economically, and the ludicrously easy access to military grade weaponry they have. This is about people so desperate/crazy/self-medicating/numbed-to-violence that they think its acceptable to wipe out a few people to get something they want.
Where could they have possibly gotten that idea from???
Reminds of something my grandfather use to say….”Democrats start a fight and Repubs run a way”……all politicians are hypocrites……they will say whatever gets them the attention they so crave…..chuq
