This Is Why

I have dragged myself into the gutter with those that use insulting words to talk about others…..I had not realized just how bad it had gotten until another blogger pointed it out to me…..I was a bit pissed at first but as we exchanged thoughts I could see where he/she was going and he/she was right (thanx you…..the lonelyauthorblog)…….. and I shall try to do better in the future.

Yesterday I read something that just cheesed my grits…..do you remember during one of the Democratic debates when Clinton was asked about the enemies that she was proud to have?  Her response was Republicans.  That sent the net into I stroke on the Right….she was belittled for her answer saying that Americans should not be a presidential wannabe’s enemies……

Yesterday, as I said, I read a piece about something Sen. Ted Cruz had to say…..

Texas Sen. Ted Cruz claimed Monday during a radio appearance that “the overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats.”

The Republican presidential contender told radio host Hugh Hewitt that Democrats — aided by a “salivating” media — attempt to use mass killings to damage

“Every time you have some sort of violent crime or mass killing, you could almost see the media salivating, hoping desperately that the murderer happens to be a Republican so they can use it to try to paint their political enemies,” Cruz said.

He continued: “Now, listen, here’s the simple and undeniable facts: The overwhelming majority of violent criminals are Democrats. The media doesn’t report that.”

I realize that it is fashionable to blame the media for all your perceived wrongs but a blanket statement like this is what he, among others, we bitching about when Clinton answered the debate question last month….

This is the type of stuff that can make a rational person go ballistic…..even if I were a conservative it is statements like that that would make me look elsewhere for a candidate to support.

This is one reason I have NO faith in the system anymore….when wild statements are held up as somehow a characteristic of a good candidate…..all it shows me is the shallowness of the American voter.

Elections are now about a candidate’s performance not substance……

I weep for this country’s future.

This is why we are not winning the so-called war……it must be treated for what it is….a weapon……and act accordingly.

Syria: How Complex Could It Possibly Be?

I have tried in the past on many occasions to try and explain the complexities of what is happening in Syria……I am not sure that I have made it clear just how absurdly complex it really is……I saw this cartoon and decided to try it more more time…..

The Middle East Has Fractured. Is Europe Next?

The debate over what to do about the group we call ISIS….or is it IS?……or is it ISIL?  You decide which acronym you like best……but the situation is causing some heated debate…..the situation is causing some fracturing in the EU…..and it is beginning to do the same here in the US…..and then there is the debate over the millions of refugees…..

The Middle East has fractured almost completely….Syria, Iraq, Yemen, even Lebanon is started to feel the tug on its society and it probably will not be long before it expands exponentially around the entire region….

The refugee crisis has already caused some fracturing within the EU and neighboring states…..even here in the US….it has begun……

I fear that this issue will mushroom into something that cannot be reversed…..we have been stretched to the limit many times…..but this time I do not think that we can rebound if we continue on the course that is being dictated by politics…..

The country is fracturing along superficial lines…..lines that could be a long lasting division…..when Americans show up with guns at a place of worship to intimidate other Americans then this is getting to be very disturbing…..it all sounds too damn familiar to me.
