He Said What?

Did I mention the Pope stopped by for a cup of Joe?  Well he said he was the Pope and who am I to dispute a man in a white dress?

This month we will say good-bye to Boehner, Speaker of the House and the Freedom Caucus will not have him to kick around anymore….

Looks like Rep. Kevin McCarthy is vying for the position of Speaker……all I can do is laugh……why?

In the coming years the most daunting task the government will have is in the area of foreign policy…..and McCarthy is about as sharp there as a rotting turnip…..he is a mumbling babbling mess….a typical GOPer these days……

His recent speech on foreign policy should point you in the direction of how he will run the House….

Kevin McCarthy is about to ascend to the highest office in the House of Representatives and become second in line to the presidency.

But there is a problem: The speaker-apparent apparently still can’t speak.

I have been tracking the California Republican’s valiant but often unsuccessful struggles with the English language for some time now, and I was alarmed to watch him lose another round Monday during a foreign policy speech to the John Hay Initiative, a new outfit of the neoconservative bent.

“If I look at history of where we are it seems a lot like 1979,” McCarthy informed his audience in the ballroom of Washington’s St. Regis hotel.

“We must engage this war of radical Islam if our life depended on it because it does,” he opined.

“I have visited Poland, Hungria, Estonia,” he said, and also “visited in our, uh, the allies in the Arab Gulf.”

He has, furthermore, been informed that we “live on the greatest nation that’s ever been on the face of the Earth.”

McCarthy called for “an effective politically strategy to match the military strategy,” and he lamented that “we have isolated Israel while bolding places like Iran.” He blamed President Barack Obama’s White House for “putting us in tough decisions for the future,” but he voiced hope that a “safe zone would create a stem the flow of refugees.” And he scolded the Department of Veterans Affairs for failing to assist returning servicemen “who fought to the death in Ramadi.”

That babbling mess from a Congressperson that has sponsored two bills…..both to rename buildings….does that make him the best person for the job?

He needs to practice before he speaks……after over a year of denying that the Faux investigation into the Benghazi debacle was a Clinton with hunt…..he said this about the investigation…….

“Everybody thought Hillary Clinton was unbeatable, right? But we put together a Benghazi special committee. A select committee. What are her numbers today? Her numbers are dropping. Why? Because she’s untrustable. But no one would have known that any of that had happened had we not fought to make that happen,” McCarthy said.

This moron has all but admitted that the investigation was nothing more than a witch hunt…..and he wants to be Speaker of the House?  Seriously?

Think about it…if he is that big of an idiot he will be the perfect person to run the House….he can be bullied and control by the Freedom Caucus and every moronic idea will become a bill…..more money down the toilet.

I cannot wait for his next batch of utterances that will make my day…..

Thank you McCarthy!

On A Side Note:  Speaking of the Benghazi investigation……..

as if we didn’t know this was the agenda, we’ve been writing this for years here at Politicus. And just yesterday we discussed the outrageous fact that the Benghazi probe has gone on longer than the Watergate probe.

But the party that sells itself as “fiscally responsible”, in spite of their claim that “deficits don’t matter” when they were in charge, would definitely want to reimburse taxpayers the $4.5 million they have spent on lowering former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton’s poll numbers and manufacturing sound bites for free campaign ads against her, which they will all use since Republicans always have to run “against” a person since they can’t run on their own ideas.

The GOP toads owes the American people money…….TIME TO PAY IT BACK!

Why Am I Not Surprised?

We all have heard the horror stories of our vets and their ordeal to get into the program to get treatment for the diseases they encountered while in service to the country….or the needed rehab work to learn to use artificial limbs…..we know the Congress is a do nothing pack of whores that work the hardest for those with the most cash……

But there is another group that Congress is turning its back on….yet again……the 9/11 first responders…….

A law that provides medical monitoring and treatment for Sept. 11 first responders expired at midnight Wednesday due to the failure of Congress to act. For now, first responders who rushed to the World Trade Center after the 2001 terrorist attacks, worked for weeks, and now suffer from illnesses like pulmonary disease and cancers will still be able to get their health care. But in a letter to the Senate, CDC Director Tom Frieden said if the law isn’t extended, the WTC Health Program “will begin to face significant operational challenges” by February. By next summer, the program’s 72,000 enrolled beneficiaries will have to be notified that they may not receive health care beyond September 2016 and the program will have to start to shut down, a process Frieden says could cause patients additional stress.

The Zadroga Act, named for a responder who died after working at Ground Zero, first became law in 2010 after a debate over the cost. Proponents seek the law’s permanent extension in part because some illnesses may not manifest until years later, after the statute of limitations for worker’s comp or certain state laws may have run out. House Republicans have been supportive of the program but oppose its permanent extension because they want to be able to periodically review it and make sure it’s operating soundly; the Senate hasn’t moved a bill. Letting the program expire creates “enormous anxieties and fears in the minds of very sick people,” says Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-NY, who’s been lobbying to make the program permanent and recently was joined by comedian Jon Stewart. “People are dying and suffering, and Congress can easily close this wound,” says one leading advocate. “But they continue to add salt to it.”

Why am I surprised that the pigs in DC let this benefit expire?

They use these people as political props but refuse to do anything that would compensate them for the work they did on that faithful day…..these people did their part now it is time for Congress to do theirs……

It does not surprise me that the American people turn their back on these brave souls…..if they would do it to our valiant vets…..these guys/gals were not safe.

Sue The Bastards!

Let’s take a break from the news of the day…..Syria and Russian airstrikes…..

My regular readers will know that I have no love for the Saudi regime….I think that are as bad and as barbaric as ISIS.

I have also pointed out that several of the conspiracies about 9/11 involve the Saudis and their complicity with the hijackers that destroyed the World Trade Center……

So to say I am not a fan would be an understatement…..

But I did see some promising news….I have waited for the media to pick up on it but so far they are silent…..so let me be the first to report this situation……

Saudi Arabia, homeland of 15 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers, can’t be sued by families of victims for its alleged role in the attacks, a federal judge decided on Tuesday. US District Judge George Daniels ruled that the evidence—including “20th hijacker” Zacarias Moussaoui’s claim that Saudi royals funded al-Qaeda—wasn’t enough to remove the “sovereign immunity” that shields other countries from lawsuits, meaning Saudi Arabia couldn’t be named as a defendant in the long-running case, the AP reports. Daniels said allowing new evidence would be “futile” because “the additional allegations do not strip defendants of sovereign immunity,” reports Reuters.

The lawsuit, which seeks billions of dollars in damages began in 2002. Saudi Arabia was removed as a defendant in 2005 because of sovereign immunity, but the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals reinstated it in 2013, pointing to a similar case involving Afghanistan, Reuters notes. A lawyer for the plaintiffs says an appeal is planned and blames the ruling on the government’s decision to keep material that could help the plaintiffs’ cause classified, the AP reports. A lawyer for Saudi Arabia says the case is based on “innuendo and supposition,” reports the Wall Street Journal, which notes that the number of defendants being sued used to be in the hundreds but now stands at around a dozen.

Since the House of Saud is such “good” friends with the government……how long will it be before they intervene and protect their friend?

All I can say is….Screw ’em……SUE THE BASTARDS!

There are reasons ALL Americans should oppose the Saudi monarchy…….read them for yourself…….

The Saudis stand for everything in opposition of a true democracy……how can a country that represents the very soul of democracy support and defend the essence of evil?

Conflict News #1

The US is up to its butt in conflicts….yet the media has no time to report the news from these battlefields…..nope they had rather give the public mind numbing bullsh*t……like Brady’s balls or some hi-speed chase in Stupidville……or what dilettante musician is doing with his/her time……worthless info that Americans crave…..

I guess it is up to me to give the public the news the MSM never has the nuts to deliver…..all the Conflict News you can use……

1–Pentagon has made a momentous decision that should have been made months ago…..

Though an official announcement on the matter has not been made yet, reports are emerging that the Pentagon has suspended the “train and equip” program intended to create a new faction of “pro-US” Syrian rebels, which has been dubbed the New Syrian Forces (NSF).

If the first class was a failure, the second class was embarrassingly so, with the group almost immediately surrendering its weapons and vehicles to al-Qaeda. Centcom today released further details about the chain of events leading to this surrender.

Better late than never….or so they say.

2–Our war in Libya is not going as well as we had anticipated in the beginning…..Libya has sunk into a deep civil war……but after over 2 years of fighting the combatants have possibly found a way to work together…..

The Western-backed Libyan government in Tobruk and the Tripoli-based government are moving closer to some sort of power-sharing agreement, according to UN officials familiar with the ongoing talks, and have reached a basic “consensus” on the main points of how it will work.

Details aren’t being released on this framework agreement, but both sides are to submit a list of names for possible candidates in key positions in the unity government, including a list of prime ministers who would be agreeable to them.

Is it possible that they found a way to end their conflict without the US?  Would be a new trend if they have…….

3–Now Yemen……Saudis and their Gulf monarch buddies have been pounding Yemen for months and NO one cares…..

The Coalition is meant to be the first exercise of a GCC ‘rapid deployment force’ advised discreetly by Israeli and American officers. Such coordination in the attack of an Arab country is novel. How has this been marketed? The rage provoked by the deaths of the invading GCC forces in Mar`ib suggests that Yemen was dreamt of as a training programme for wars modelled on recent Israeli ones – a war to be determined by aerial bombardment, but without the international outrage at war crimes that Israel suffers.

But the real answer for the silence can be put a better way…….”the GCC can buy a lot of media, weapons, and people.”

4–Remember the “Sunni Awakening” in Iraq……we shortened it to the Surge….a way for the US to deal with the expansion of radicals in Anbar province…..but could such a program succeed in Afghanistan?

Source: Is an ‘Afghan Awakening’ the solution? – Al Jazeera English

5–It seems that ISIS is the number enemy at least for now, of the US….if that is true why has this news not been reported more widely……..

Early reports of ISIS trying to establish an affiliate in Afghanistan were mostly downplayed by the US and other Western powers, who believed the group to be little more than a handful of disaffected Taliban commanders trying to get international attention. That the rare ISIS activity was all fighting against Taliban rivals seemed to support that.

………the latest reports suggest that only about 10% of the ISIS force inside Afghanistan is Taliban defectors, and that the group’s parent organization in Iraq and Syria has sent roughly 70 seasoned commanders to serve as the leadership core of this growing branch.

The ability to recruit Taliban defectors might be growing with the latest leadership disputes in that group, but ISIS’ ability to form an almost entirely new group with so little cross-over with a Taliban insurgency that’s been in place for decades suggests they are resonating with a whole new group of peoples, and could be a hugely complicating matter in the ongoing occupation of Afghanistan

6–Finally…..We are failing against ISIS….could it be that our tactics are well known in advance?

Abu Omar al-Shishani, the red-bearded face of ISIS terror lately described in such headlines as ‘Star pupil’: Pied piper of ISIS recruits was trained by U.S. for the fact that he received American military training as part of an elite Georgian army unit in 2006 and after, did not stop playing for “team America” once he left his home country in the Caucuses. He actually enjoyed US backing and American taxpayer largesse as late as 2013, soon after entering Syria with his band of Chechen jihadists.

7–We have conflicts on top of conflicts…..and that is not the bad news…..

#AceNewsReport – Oct.01: The continuing financing of all US military operations by continuing resolution and not through a proper budget is generating a $38 billion deficit, US Defense Secretary Ashton Carter said in a press briefing on Wednesday.

How many more conflicts can the US afford?

You are welcome……

The “War And Peace” In Syria

Like Russian novel…….

The really big news of the day yesterday was that Russia would join in the war in Syria……but in case you missed my post….here it is…..

Source: Could Syria be Putin’s Afghanistan? | In Saner Thought

Putin asked for permission to use Russian military in the fight and he got it…….

Russian lawmakers gave Vladimir Putin the thumbs-up to conduct airstrikes in Syria on Wednesday, and the president didn’t waste any time. Giving the US Embassy in Baghdad just an hour’s notice, Russian military aircraft started the strikes near the city of Homs in western Syria, a senior US official confirmed to ABC News. The advance notice given to the US Embassy came in the form of a senior Russian military official who would only say Russian aircraft would be flying in Syria’s airspace, reportedly keeping mum on exactly where the strikes would take place, ABC notes. Per Russia’s Interfax, Putin said that the strikes were born of a Syrian request and that they were in accordance with international law. What’s not clear: whether he’s targeting ISIS, which doesn’t have a major presence in Homs, or rebels fighting Bashar al-Assad.

“There doesn’t seem to be any operational effect on (ISIS) where they are flying,” says the US official. That conflicts with what a Russian Defense Ministry spokesman told Russian news agencies Wednesday, noting that targeted strikes are being carried out on sites that Russians believe are under the control of ISIS, per the AP. The US official said US operations in Syria would remain unaffected by Putin’s latest move, even though Russia had asked the US to keep its warplanes out of Syrian airspace, CNN reports. It’s not clear what kind of aircraft was used.

The hope of the world was that Russia would join in the fight against ISIS and there was a hint that it would do just that……but as with everything Russian….there is a slight problem…….

All the airstrikes by Russia were against Assad foes not one was that of ISIS and their infrastructure……if he were after ISIS Raqqa should have been high o the list of targets…..not so much as a ripple…..only targets were those of rebels fighting Assad and Assad alone.

The US has issued a statement to Russia…….

State Department officials warn they view Russia’s involvement with “grave concern” and are demanding that Russia not launch any airstrikes against non-ISIS rebel forces.

WTF?  They are already attacking non-ISIS positions…….what purpose is that statement?

I do not think that many people really considered Putin as an ally to anyone but Assad…..but could his intervention be a bad idea?  (that will be a separate post)

The Syria Russian Roulette | Middle East Briefing

I do a lot of research on the Middle East…..most of it comes from the region…….trying to get accurate information from the Western media is virtually impossible.  Regardless of what these toads have to say the Western media is anything but unbiased.

I get the Middle East Briefing which has some of the best analysis on the region…..

This piece is about the situation in Syria…it is well worth the time it takes to read it……

US and its allies, the Coalition, have been banging away at targets…now it appears the Russia has decided to do more….what will this mean for the region and the conflict?

The Save-Syria Initiative Debated Among Opposition Groups | Middle East Briefing

The situation in Syria has done many things……lots of bitching and moaning…..the one thing that has not come out of Syria is a solution to the events taking place in the region……

Action is long in the tooth…..solutions are in short supply….

The situation in Syria is fluid….but according to the Institute for the Study of War…it is a confusing mess……

Source: Forecasting the Syrian Civil War | Institute for the Study of War

I would expect a think tank that is dedicated to war to have little use for a possible peace plan……but there needs to be at least one on the books…..

Finally someone has offered a solution….it will not be met with much success….however it is a starting spot and I believe it should be considered as a starting point and work out from there…….

]The US will not sign on….but at least the UN should take a long look at the proposal….and work from there….but please keep it out of the Security Council, where solutions go to die…thanx to the US……

Keep in  mind that all wars end with a peace treaty….after lengthy talks and compromise…….

All I am saying is….Give Peace a Chance!
