This election, 2016, has more people thinking about an alternative to the 2 major candidates….one is popular with old men and the other is popular with neocons……neither is truly that popular with the average voter…..
There has been a bit of a history with third party candidates (there I got my historical perspective in) and the NT Times has a pretty good piece on these candidates and their campaigns…..
Major third-party presidential candidates have never had an easy time of it, even when they were former presidents or billionaires.
Recent polls show the Libertarian Party nominee, Gary Johnson, at around 10 percent nationally, a relatively high number for a third-party candidate this late in the campaign season. Major third-party presidential candidates have never had an easy time of it, even when they were former presidents or billionaires. Here’s a short history of their mostly quixotic campaigns.

Just to let my readers know that there have been some successful third party runs for there presidency….just not a elected person for the office.
THINK GREEN
The White House will not be flaked in Gold Leaf as the TRUMPster is planning.
Nope, it shall emanate a GREEN aura.

NOTE: Care to place a wager?
No bet….LOL
Fair enough.
We’ll see…I’m not crazy about any of the third party options out there, but this might be the year when they actually have a chance. Should be interesting!
I am not thrilled either but over the 2 major candidates I would vote for Idi Amin…
Hah, too funny! Not quite there myself, though. Out of all the options available, I prefer Hillary. Bernie was a bit much for me, and Jill is even more to the left of him, I guess….
Hil is just too much of a hawk for my liking…..
I can absolutely understand and respect that.
There are parts of the Greens I do not like also…Libertarians are out…so I have a dilemma….
Ha, I think just about everyone this election year has a dilemma. It’s a difficult one this year…..
I agree….a difficult decision if you will vote….
Reblogged this on The Militant Negro™.
TY have a great weekend my friend….chuq
What is your definition of *successful* in “successful third party runs” for the presidency?
winning so that the principles will become more well known….the media makes or breaks candidates….until then they are labelled losers…..and the public buys into the hype…
