I have often bitched about the severe waste of cash by the Pentagon….like the multi-billion dollar flying brick, the F-35 or the Navy ship that breaks down everytime it goes to sea trials or a mine sweeping device that cannot find explosives in a room full of them and it only costs $700 million or so….there are so many others too numerous to list here……so my question is…..why?
So far the GOP has bitched about those “freeloaders” and Obamacare and how much is wasted on social programs but not one of them has stepped up and question just what the Hell is going on in the Pentagon.
I understand that they are the prostitutes to the military-industrial complex but eventually someone has got to make these spend crazy asswads to be held accountable……

While we are on this subject, how about getting some controls on the wasteful spending at the General Services Administration (GSA) too? I one read where the GSA charges some other government agency as much as $1,200 for a $30 toilet seat — and other such things.
It is far easier to go after those that actually need the help and cannot afford lawyers…..I do not think that GSA sets prices….I may be wrong but I think they just pass on the news to the Congress and they rubber stamp all such costs….after all it is the Pentagon and we know how god-like that is, right?

The article said that Obama has initiated billions to be spent on planes, subs and nuclear warheads. Yet all the Republicans say he has weakened the military and therefor does not understand need for strength. Then congress appropriates money for things the military says it does not need and expense to maintain needed elsewhere. Then all Republicans have to ask for more military spending to show they are for defense improvement. In addition the VA is still a disaster for vets.
The magic words…”national security”…..and yet the VA has to scramble to find funding….how sad is that? chuq
How about this one for sad …. “Be assured, dear Heroes and Heroines .. we will never forget the sacrifices you have made for your country …” (Cue the marching band)! How about that one? If that isn’t sad I don’t know what is. Does anybody remember Lt. Col. David N. Mounds whose B-17 Liberator went down over Nazi Germany in 1943? I do! Does anybody else? How about my buddy, David who stepped on a VC mine in Nam in the 60s? Anybody remember him? How about the Vets who sit at home dying because they can’t get an appointment to be seen for their illnesses? Anybody remembering them these days?
Of course no one will remember without an incentive……like a holiday or such….that is sad. The country cares little about the plight of the veteran that is obvious with the people they elect….they are only useful as a political prop…after that….NOTHING.
