My Representative, Palazzo The Corrupt

Closing Thought–14Dec20

My House Representative for South Mississippi is one Steven Palazzo and he has been caught using campaign cash for personal expenses…..

According to a report from Roll Call Rep. Steven Palazzo (R-MS) is being investigated for diverting over $230,000 in campaign funds to make car payments, pay for home and business repairs and employ family members.

While a spokesperson for the House Ethics Committee refused to comment on allegations made against the GOP lawmaker, he admitted that he is being investigated for expenditures that date back to 2010.

ne complaint dates back to March of last year, when Palazzo was accused of spending “$60,000 in campaign expenditures to rent a farm, Greene Acres LLC, and $127,000 to pay an accounting firm Palazzo founded that is now run by his former wife,” reports Roll Call.

Since he won the House seat from Gene Taylor in 2010 I have not been a fan…..for me he is a worthless yes man that does what the Party wants and not what the people of South Mississippi that he represents needs.

He just won re-election and still has support from morons that will let a crook and spineless politician run their families for them.

He will probably say “My Bad” and be allowed to pay the money back…..I say f*ck him…he committed a crime he should be thrown out of the House.

Plus he is one of the 126 House members that have stated the the election should be overturned…..this also should eliminate this douche from ever representing the people of Mississippi .

Apparently he is in Congress to feather his nest and not represent the people of his district…..and yet he gets re-elected….”Ain’t No Fixin’ Stupid”

What About Those Electoral College Votes?

The finally tally was Biden with 302 votes and Trump with 232….but it will not be official until today and then on 06 January……let me explain….

Today the tally will be certified and prepared to go to the Congress in January…..

Monday is a significant day in the US on two fronts: Not only do COVID vaccinations begin but the electoral college meets. The latter is the next big step in the selection of the president, and one with added significance in 2020 because of President Trump’s continuing challenge of the results, notes the Wall Street Journal. However, when all is said and done on Monday, Joe Biden is expected to formally receive 306 votes and Trump 232. That sets the stage for the next important date: Jan 6., when the votes cast on Monday will be counted in a joint session of Congress over which Vice President Pence will preside, per the AP.

Electors will meet in their own states and in the District of Colombia to cast their paper ballots, with the first sessions beginning at 10 Eastern, reports USA Today. Biden is expected to address the nation in the evening when the process is complete. Some states allow “faithless” electors to cast ballots for a candidate not chosen by the voters, but the AP doesn’t expect any such defections this year.

What are the chances that some of these idiots will try something to prevent the tally from becoming official….sealing Biden’s election as law?

Any thoughts?

The National Vaccine Rollout

The process of getting the Covid vaccine out to the general public….and we all know that it will not go smoothly…..nothing else has in the US during the pandemic so why should the rollout of the vaccine be any different?

The first trucks carrying the COVID-19 vaccine just left a Michigan manufacturing facility Sunday, and yet the vaccine’s rollout is already, per CNN, “messy.” Vaccinations will likely start Monday, but it will be months before most people can get one; Operation Warp Speed’s chief adviser anticipated it will likely be June before vaccines are available to the full US population—if nothing goes wrong on the manufacturing end. As for who gets one when, CNN notes distribution may not seem fair, with state and local health authorities having to make tough decisions about which high-risk group should get access after the very first group, health care workers and long-term care residents. The news outlet runs down a whole list of other potential issues, like shipment mix-ups (one has already taken place), a lack of training for facilities administering the vaccines, and more.

Among those issues: people may forget to come back for the necessary second dose, or they may be so put off by side effects from the first dose that they forego it. Indeed, while most symptoms experienced after getting the vaccine are harmless, some health care facilities are planning to stagger vaccinations in case they are severe enough to cause people to miss work. As for the journey the vaccines are currently making: NPR reports 145 of the 636 sites receiving the first doses of the Pfizer and BioNTech vaccine will get their shipments by Monday morning. And in related news, President Trump on Sunday announced that he is reversing an administration directive to vaccinate top government officials in the first wave, the AP reports. The plan had riled some, especially considering the White House’s lax stance on COVID-19 precautions.

Bill Gates has a warning for president-elect Joe Biden…..

Developing, testing, and distributing a coronavirus vaccine is tough enough. But Bill Gates pointed out something else Sunday that’s compounding the difficulties. “The transition is complicating,” Gates said on CNN. The Microsoft co-founder is encouraged, however, because “the new administration is willing to rely on actual experts and not attack those experts.” President Trump’s administration has not worked with President-elect Joe Biden’s team on the distribution plan. That lack of communication could slow the process, which is just beginning, Gates said, per the Hill. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation has been working on the vaccine effort, and Gates said he’s talked with Biden about making sure “we don’t blow it.” He added: “I’m pleased with the people and priority that President-elect Biden and his team are bringing to bear on this problem.”

Gates said he “will visibly take the vaccine,” but he’ll await his turn. The decision on the order in which groups receive vaccinations “should be based on medical need, not wealth at all,” Gates said. “After all, this epidemic has been awful in the way that it’s exacerbated inequities.” The foundation announced Thursday that it will add another $250 million to the fight against COVID-19, pushing its total contribution to $1.75 billion, per CNN. Gates said Sunday that the US “would’ve been expected to be the best” in stopping the spread of the coronavirus. “We didn’t get on top of it like many countries did,” he said. Gates is encouraged by the work of Biden and his team. “They’re laying out clear plans,” he said, “so I think we’ll get through this in a positive way.”

Let us all hope that this country has learned a valuable lesson on what indecision  and inaction can do…….a few things that will not defeat this disease…..

Art Of The Steal

A take-off of the silly book written by our ‘president’, The Art Of The Deal….even after Biden has been certified as the winner Trump continues to fight to throw out the vote in many states because he lost.

In an extraordinary scene of political warfare, a total of 44 of the 50 states have filed briefs with the US Supreme Court arguing for and against honoring the results of the 2020 presidential election won by Democrat Joe Biden over President Donald Trump. Only six states did not file briefs by the 3 p.m. Thursday deadline set by the high court.

The state of Texas filed the first brief Monday, directed against four “battleground” states won by Biden over Trump: Georgia, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. The brief asked the Supreme Court to overturn the results of the vote in those four states and to refer the appointment of electors to the state legislatures, which are Republican-controlled in each state.

AS I wrote…Trump’s Art of the Steal……..

The shock of defeat appears to have dimmed some of the golden boy’s luster as well as whitened his faux blond hair and lightened his spray-on tan. Still, not only has Trump not conceded, he has, at current count, mounted over thirty-eight unsuccessful lawsuits to overturn the election or, at best, stall his ouster from office. Undaunted, the self-avowed stable genius’s latest Wile E. Coyote move has been to pressure Republican state legislators to choose pro-Trump electors when the Electoral College convenes this month. Having apparently failed at that, his only hope now is a Supreme Court Hail Mary. It doesn’t matter that he may fail; it’s the smoke, mirrors, and gaslight that ultimately count. None of this suggests that Trump is even remotely entertaining conceding.

In fact, it’s highly likely Trump will never concede, despite media speculation that his reticence is actually yet another of his three-dimensional chess gambits, the current one, according to some pundits, designed to make possible his own Murdock-like media empire to sustain his brand until he (or one of his felonious spawn) runs again in 2024. All this Occam razor-rejecting media confabulation refuses to accept the simple fact that toddler Trump is throwing a tantrum and that the true intent of his intransigence is to remain in power by any means necessary.

Grab ’Em by the Ballot: The Art of the Steal

I do not think his attempts will be successful….but I do think he is setting the stage for 2022 and 2024.

I like this Tweet as well….

Read the rationale of this proposal…..

I say use it!  If they cannot defend the US from enemies domestic or foreign then they should not be allowed to take the oath of office.  PERIOD!

To be fair…my representative Steven Palazzo is one of the signers….(more about him later today)…..another gutless GOP toad….and the sooner the people of my area realize what a d/bag he is the sooner we can eliminate him.

Looks like the Supreme Court is not having any of the silly Trump games…..

The Supreme Court on Friday afternoon rejected a lawsuit backed by President Trump to overturn President-elect Joe Biden’s election victory. The decision ends a desperate attempt to get legal issues rejected by state and federal judges before the nation’s highest court, the AP reports. The court’s order was its second this week rebuffing Republican requests that it become involved in the 2020 election outcome. The justices turned away an appeal from Pennsylvania Republicans on Tuesday. The Electoral College meets Monday to formally elect Biden as the next president.

Per Axios, the court wrote: “The State of Texas’s motion for leave to file a bill of complaint is denied for lack of standing under Article III of the Constitution. Texas has not demonstrated a judicially cognizable interest in the manner in which another State conducts its elections. All other pending motions are dismissed as moot.”

Then there is not moron of the GOP, Alan West, the GOP Chair from Texas……

126 GOP House members and 17 other state attorneys general was rebuffed by the nation’s highest court, Texas GOP Chair Allen West, a retired US Army lieutenant colonel and former congressman, issued a statement noting his displeasure, and offering an eyebrow-raising suggestion, per CBS Dallas-Fort Worth. “This decision will have far-reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic,” West said. “Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.” West’s remarks brought swift backlash from both sides of the aisle, per the Hill.

“I believe @TexasGOP should immediately retract this, apologize, and fire Allen West and anyone else associated with this,” Illinois GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger tweeted. Democratic Sen. Brian Schatz of Hawaii added, “They have lost their minds. … These people are deadly serious about secession and sedition.” Also disappointed in the Supreme Court’s rebuff: President Trump, who was said to have nixed an appearance at a White House holiday party Friday night, per the New York Times. Later that evening, he tweeted, “The Supreme Court really let us down. No Wisdom, No Courage!” He continued mulling over the situation well past midnight, adding his final thoughts on the matter: “It is a legal disgrace, an embarrassment to the USA!!!” Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani appeared on Newsmax Friday night, vowing the fight isn’t over. “We’re not finished, believe me,” Giuliani said, per the Times. The Electoral College is set to formally elect Biden as the next president on Monday.

I believe that Alan West has earned his new pair of Trump knee pads for this Christmas.

Peace Through Bribery?

I am a cheer leader for diplomacy…I feel that negotiations is far superior than the use of force….but Trump’s idea of diplomacy is that of bribery…..especially when it comes to the state of Israel.

For 60+ years no Arab nation has been on good terms with Israel….and for damn near 100 years the Israelis have been abusing the Palestinians whose land they stole to set up some kingdom in the Middle East.

Enter Trump and his brand of silly diplomacy…..the Saudis get nuke technology if they recognize and formalize relations with Israel….then the UAE gets advanced weaponry to do the same….now Morocco has decided to deal with Israel but only after the Trump admin sends them advanced drones.

Not only do the Moroccans get advanced weaponry but the US will recognize their claim to the Western Sahara….

Reuters cited three anonymous US officials who did not indicate whether the sale was related to the normalization agreement or not. But the UAE is preparing to purchase a $23 billion weapons package as its reward for opening ties with Israel, so advanced military equipment is clearly on the table for Arab countries who take the step to normalize.

The sources said the sale to Morocco would consist of four MQ-9B SeaGuardian drones made by General Atomics with a range of 6,000 nautical miles that can significantly boost Rabat’s surveillance capabilities. While the SeaGuardians can carry a payload, it’s not clear if they will be sold armed.

One of the sources said Congress could be notified of the potential sale as early as Friday. Congress could potentially block the deal, but the source said that is not expected. On Thursday, the Senate failed to pass resolutions that aimed to stop the UAE weapons sales.

As a reward for agreeing to normalize with Israel, the US recognized Morocco’s sovereignty over Western Sahara. Morocco annexed the territory after the Spanish withdrew from the region in 1975. Rabat then fought a war with the Polisario Front, a group that represents the indigenous Sahrawi people, to control the territory until a ceasefire was reached in 1991.

The Polisario Front declared the Sahrawi Arab Democratic Republic (SADR) in 1976, a de facto state in Western Sahara. The SADR is a member of the African Union and maintains diplomatic relations with about 40 UN member states. Currently, the SADR controls about 20 percent of Western Sahara, and Morocco controls the rest. The UN recognizes neither the SADR nor Moroccan sovereignty over the region.

In a deal brokered by United States President Donald Trump’s outgoing administration, Morocco became the latest Arab country to normalise ties with Israel.

As part of the agreement announced on Thursday, Trump agreed to recognise Morocco’s sovereignty over the disputed territory of Western Sahara, where there has been a decades-old dispute with Morocco pitted against the Polisario Front.

The Algeria-backed breakaway movement Polisario Front seeks to establish an independent state in the region.

Western Sahara has been on the United Nations list of non-self-governing territories, a stance also taken by the African Union, the International Court of Justice (ICJ), as well as the European Union.

Once again the US NO LONGER stands for democracy and the right of self-determination.

I have given my thoughts many times on the situation in Western Sahara…..for further information please read….

This is just the opposite of what diplomacy is meant to accomplish…..these decisions will increase the possibility of more and more violence.

Hopefully a new admin will turn back the stupidity of the Trump days…..I doubt it but I can hope.
