VA bosses in 7 states falsified vets’ wait times for care

My regulars know that I will post on veterans issues whenever I see something that is not kosh….

The big story for the last decade or so is how bad our veterans care has become….of course and predictable the bureaucrats will say that they are looking into the problems and that solutions will be forthcoming…..and almost every year there is a new problem that needs a solution…..

In the past the biggest problem has been the waiting times the vets must endure to get the care they need…..and it is still a problem in search of a solution…..

Supervisors instructed schedulers to falsify patient wait times at Veterans Affairs’ medical facilities in at least seven states, according to newly released investigation reports from the department’s inspector general.

Does anyone else find this a bit pathetic?  As I have said many times before……our veterans deserve better than their present day treatment.

  1. I waited for 9 months to see a dermatologist while my leg infection grew steadily worse. Finally I was treated by the specialists required to get the job done. The GP who was working on it prior to my seeing the specialist couldn’t do much of anything to help … although he did try.

    1. Sorry John, you could have lost your leg by the time they got around to it. I’m glad the infection finally got cleared up. Our town’s VA is rated above average but there are several in the SoCal area that are abysmal! dru

  2. We have a VA Hospital in my town and while the care is above average the whole situation is just awful. The VA is however putting up a clinic her too. It will be gigantor and that makes me happy for my area but it and the hospital sit directly on an earthquake fault! Of course in CA it is hard to find ground which isn’t close to one…dru

    1. There is a VA in my town and they are really great….but not all of them can claim that…..something has got to be done and soon chuq

  3. Yup, Long Beach’s VA is a pit and there are lots of complaints just John, who could have lost his leg by the time the infections was cleared up.

    1. As a vet I could use the VA but there are so many returning from our wars now that I would not want to take up space that they could use….

  4. I really don’t kow what I can say in this deplorable attitude towards veterans in the US.
In general I think it is, like many things, a case of delegate money to where it is needed and not , the veterans, and not to an often weighty veteran administration.

This Guide Dogs TV commercial from Royal Dutch Guide Dog Foundation (KNGF Geleidehonden) shows the assistance a veteran dog can offer in

“We not only help people who cannot see, but also those who have seen too much”

Some assistance can lay in the personal, loyal things.

    1. Sadly here in the US no matter what a politician says….veterans are NOT a priority…it is more important to focus on abortions or other such social items….so damn sad that we tre3at these people so badly….chuq

  5. I agree it is a pathetic and deplorable situation.

It is also merely a symptom of the overall tenor of our culture/civilization’s complete lack of regard, accompanied by hypocritical lip service, of any portion of the citizenry that requires assistance.

Veterans with injuries and health issues, homeless people with disabilities and psychiatric issues, orphans, runaways, and any other portion of our society which is vulnerable through no fault of their own, are considered to be less than prey, and unworthy, for they cannot produce any wealth for the elite.

As long as our society bases its morality and ethics on delusions; the common people will be at the mercy of those who, in my mind, are NOT human, but, rather human predators, who prey upon their own species. They have convinced the world there is a need for government, and religion, and money, all three of which offer endless opportunities for them to manipulate the less canny into believing their lies….and the whole system is set up to be self-perpetuating, for the billions of slaves never even know they wear collars.

Homo Suicidus, at work and play….

    gigoid, the dubious

  6. Agreed, this is despicable treatment of our veterans who gave all they had so that we could have what we have. Those responsible for the lies should be strung up.
