The Democratic voter has less to choose from in the next go-round of empire building….

The Democratic field of candidates for the 2016 election never was that big to begin with……the first to depart was Jim Webb….then the big news that Biden would not run (to the dismay of the media) and now the least known Dem candidate has decided to leave while he has a little dignity left……
Lincoln Chafee is saying what everybody was thinking: He’s out of the race for president. The former Rhode Island governor made it official Friday morning in an address to the Women’s Leadership Forum. “As you know I have been campaigning on a platform of Prosperity Through Peace,” he said, per CNN. “But after much thought I have decided to end my campaign for president today. I would like to take this opportunity one last time to advocate for a chance be given to peace.”
Two big reasons: He was somewhere between 0% and 1% in the polls, and he’d raised only $30,000, reports the New York Times. Unlike Jim Webb, Chafee isn’t interested in an independent bid, and his departure leaves Hillary Clinton, Bernie Sanders, and Martin O’Malley in the Democratic contest.
Now we are down to the grits and gravy…..Clinton, Bernie and O’Malley remain to duke it out for the heart and soul of the Democratic Party…..
To me it is just a pro-corporate candidate versus the anti-corporate candidate….and an “also ran”…….how will the American voter choose? And the ‘pro” candidate has the media’s ear….and that will make all the difference in the primaries.
The ‘anti’ candidate has the people’s ear but that means little when there is such a huge propaganda machine as the MSM.
I am a Hillary hater but I have to admit she was absolutely spectacular yesterday. The stupid republicans gave her all day to 1. display her vast knowledge of world affairs, 2. demonstrated the complexity of things and her ability to handle it all, 3. showed how ridiculous it is to present it was her fault, 4. showed she had the stamina to be grilled all day and not break , 5. showed her skill in crisis management and so much more. I am so impressed with her now I just might vote for her. She certainly is the most qualified of just about anyone to be president. I can’t believe I say this but I do. Hill’s a smart tough ol’ broad.
I agree…..the GOP does what it is always doing….overreaching…they do not know when to shut the hell up…..they act like spoiled 3rd graders at a sandbox…
My Dice Dropout Experiment (I rolled dice that randomly selected who will drop out of the race before it actually starts) said that only 2 Democratic candidates will still be running come the very 1st vote. If I recall, I think I reserved a spot for one dropout who wasn’t going to officially quit in 2015, but would just “fake it” until all the debates were over and then “quit” the night of/ day after Iowa, even though he actually quit weeks/months before the vote.
Can’t remember if the dice picked Mercury Chaffed, the guy who played the Mayor on HBO’sThe Wire….or was there another joker on the ballot? Either way, none of them are even worth mentioning or thinking about…beyond the context of my utterly contemptuous Dice Roll Experiment.
Lucky for me, the dice did pick Clinton & Bernie to be there. I’ll have to find the paper I did it all on for the dice’s Republican predictions. They won’t be nearly as accurate as the Democratic side, but I bet it will turn out to be as accurate as the speculations of the highly paid pros.
A coin flip has worked for me over the years…..one is as rotten as the other….
You make your predictions by flipping coins??? With all those Republican
candidatesnon-starters that won’t even make it to 2016, that could take an entire day of coin tossing. Me? I don’t even think I have that many coins left to flip. The Dice Roll Experiment represents the most thought I will actually give the 2016 race…until 2016….But even then, I wouldn’t dedicate the time required to flip a coin for every single candidate. Making the list, rolling 6 dice and striking off the corresponding names got that bullshit out of the way a lot faster. Semi-scientific experiment, or not, every second I wasted on 2016 in 2015 is a second I’d have rather spent sticking my dick in a blender. Ah, the sacrifices I make for Political Science!
Now, if only I can find the paper I wrote the Republican results on…otherwise I’ll have to do it again…or stick my dick in the blender. Tough call. Wait! I know it’s on my desk somewhere, so I can just look for it on the day of the Iowa Cock-us.
My flip is usually when there are only two candidates in the general….before that I let my friend Jaz, my dog pick my choices……the one she snorts at is the one I support….she has been 100% since 2008……dick in a blender? OUCH!
