Labor Day–2015

Good morning fellow bloggers!

It has been a hectic but a fascinating Summer…..I have been busy thanx to all the craziness in this world…..keeping up with wold events……I do hope that everyone has had a good Summer……so much has happened that it is mostly a blur trying to keep up with all the changes going on…..

Today we observe the contributions of the American worker (we were too good to have it on the day the rest of the world has it, 01 May) to the society that has become one of the most prosper on the planet…..plus it is the unofficial end to summer.  But sadly for many it is just a holiday….they know little of the struggles of the American worker.

Today is a day to spend some time relaxing and enjoying family and friends……having cook outs, watching parades, football, baseball and some excellent cold beer.

This will probably be my only post for today for I want to do all the things that I listed previously and give my poor overtaxed mind an extra day of quiet and a soothing atmosphere.

I will return tomorrow as opinionated as ever although a little more rested than normal……go enjoy family food and fun….you deserve a break.

Have a great day guys…..thanx to you I am feeling all the love…….onward!

  1. I have discovered that we are getting a lot more of those little “Mom and Pop” breweries around here … all of them offering their own particular little version of custom beers … I think the day will come when we will all be confronted with the task of choosing from among a few hundred brands of beer ….May your Labor Day Holiday be all that you expect it to be and more.

    1. You I have noticed that the 2000’s is when retirees go to brewing…in the 90’s it was wineries…..personally I do not like “flavored” beer…..give me a dark lager and I am a happy camper (did I just say that?)…..thanx

      1. I agree but the Millennials are coming on with a passion for everything, aren’t they? I don’t like the flavored beers either. I like the goold old German-style traditional brews … the ones with the carbonated bite provided by the grain.

      2. The problem is that they food the markey trying to make the bucks and they screw the whole industry….I am a wine snob and the wineries coming up 20 yrs ago just ruined wine…..for me the “hoppier” the better….LOL

      3. Exactly! And that Aussie wine smells like a wet dog….I cannot even bring myself to drink it…..I love French wine something about the soil I imagine…..

      4. LOL…..that is why they have excellent bottled water….try Mexico for shitty water…..this lime thingy for beer originated in Mexico they squeeze lime in the beer to kill bacteria…has nothing to do with taste….factoid 101….LOL

      5. Leoville barton Red Bordeaux, vintage 2010 from St.Julien — I find that it is good even with fish — (Can you believe that?) — Of course … cheese … lots of good cheese.

  2. I believe the point of Labor Day is to not Labor…so I’m a little behind. Hope yours was exactly as you planned it, mine was divine; beer…cookies…brie…and loads of butter on crackers; sounds awful but you should try it and of course that was spread out over a whole day. It is too hot in my 80 year old house to drink wine in the summer but the thoughts are wonderful to contemplate and i’ll join you in the winter. (tink) dru

    1. Brie…by far a superior cheese…..butter on anything is heaven…LOL

Mine was good with the exception of the Italian GP…a bummer….other than that it was just ducky….chuq
