Good day……
Item 1–Some disturbing news coming out of the conflict……reports are yet unconfirmed……
UN and Human Rights Watch slammed the U.S. government for its increasing use of white phosphorus and depleted uranium bombs in densely populated areas since mid-September.
Medics say some ISIL terrorists have been wounded by the new lethal type of weapons that even physicians who had had similar experiences in war zones cannot recognize them.
Medical teams who still operate in war-scarred Syria say whenever a person injured by these unprecedented weapons, the poisonous shrapnel will soon kill the individual in a very short period of time.
DU rounds are SOP in the conflict in Iraq in 2003……even some Americans are suffering from the effects of these rounds…..
Item 2–The allure of jihad and ISIS is losing some of its luster…….
A selection of their messages, leaked to the newspaper Le Figaro, contrast bizarrely with the image of implacable and hard-hearted jihad peddled by terror websites. “I’m fed up to the back teeth. My iPod no longer works out here. I have got to come home,” said a message from a French fighter in Syria.
Another disillusioned volunteer said: “I’m sick of it. They make me do the washing-up.” A third appealed for clemency from the French authorities, who have a policy of arresting returning jihadis. “I’ve done hardly anything but hand out clothes and food,” he said. “I’ve also cleaned weapons and moved the bodies of killed fighters . Winter is beginning. It’s starting to get tough.”
Time for the intel people to spring into action….these disgruntled militants could be a wealth of info and propaganda…….but will they?
Item 3–The moderate Rebels in Syria are once again in the vetting process…..
As the Pentagon gets ready to “vet” the potential Syrian rebels they hope to train for the new pro-US rebel faction they intend to create to fight ISIS, it’s looking pretty easy. They already know most of these guys, because they already trained them.
“We’re not starting from scratch,” one official noted, adding re-vetting people they already know should take no more than a single day, and many of these worked through the CIA programs from previous years.
The unspoken downside to this is that these same rebels were trained to do the exact same thing they’re being trained for this time, and it didn’t work before.
What is that old saying about insanity?
Item 4–Finally some good news coming out of Iraq!
Members of the US anti-ISIS coalition are crowing about ISIS shutting down cellular telephone service in Mosul, saying it proves the war against ISIS is having a major impact.
ISIS shut off the phone service to thwart spotters who were providing targeting information to the coalition to launch airstrikes against ISIS forces. Service appears to still be active across much of the rest of ISIS territory.
It’s the little things that give the most joy.
Item 5–the fate of Syria’s Assad is ever changing………
Writing Nov. 14 in Foreign Policy, James Traub quotes David Harland, executive director of the Geneva-based Centre for Humanitarian Dialogue (HD Centre), which operates inside Syria, and his collaborator, Nir Rosen, as saying that “rebel commanders have come to accept that Assad’s departure cannot be a precondition for talks.” Rosen also suggested that the “rebels’ foreign backers, including the Saudis, have begun to reach the same conclusion.” On the basis of his discussion with his interlocutors, Traub contends that President Bashar al-Assad will “not be going any time soon, if at all.”
Item 6–There seems to be a solution in the making for the “no US ground troops” pledge of Obama….in a piece in Anitwar.com from Jason Ditz……
Officials say that using contractors as the “boots on the ground” in Iraq would be a political boon for President Obama, who could sort of avoid going back on his promise not to get US troops into combat roles.
Nominally, the contractors aren’t supposed to engage in combat either, but analysts say that they are allowed to “provide security,” which in this case is a distinction without a difference.
Damn! Greed is a powerful emotion…ain’t it? Blackwater should be jerking off in the corner…..
That is it for the day…….
Thanx for your time and attention……..

Reblogged this on Ace Breaking News.
Thanx for the re-blog…..I hope to keep people abreast of the situation despite the lack of interest from the media…..chuq
Nice post as usual. Ian
Yes is is as you say, “It is the little things that give the most joy.”
I understand that there might be some unconventional weapons being used against ISIL in Iraq but my attitude is that there is also an unconventional enemy operating in the personna we all know as ISIL so . . . .My personal thing is, “Whatever it takes to get the job done, baby! I am sure if they had them the ISIL dicks would be doing the same thing right back at the good guys.”
A few words later on in the article you mention that some of the ISIL fighters are becoming discouraged? I guess if I was getting my rear end kicked and if I saw those who I am fighting coming at me with those frightening “Unconventional” weapons I might get a little discouraged too. It is a little matter of something us military types used to call “Psychological Operations.” (Kill the enemy at all costs – – – before they kill you – – – and scare the devil out of them in the process.)
As to the use of “Contractors” as a force to be reckoned with against the ISIL roaches – – I think I am more inclined to approve of the use of willing paid mercernaries if they want to take on the challenge because it would save a lot of our military folks from “giving their all” in the conflict. But don’t pay attention to me because I may not be in step with absolutely everybody who has an opinion. I rarely ever am. I agree that “Greed is a powerful emotion” but jerking off in the corner also contributes to a certain amount of “Powerful emotion” also and if I thought for a minute that somebody here in the US of A was thinking of a new or unique method of exterminating the ISIL vermin then I might be tempted to thing about such things myself – – of course I am too old now to actually do such things – – I might drop over from a stroke or something if I even tried – – but the concept is still intriguing anyway. I bet the ISIL freaks don’t have any problem doing similar things when they line the severed heards of their victims up in a row for their little sessions with the propaganda cameras – – whadda ya think?
These are some great articles on the ISIS thing my friend so keep up the good work.
John the problem with depleted uranium rounds effect everyone not just the bad guys…..most are discouraged because they are not doing what they sign on for….they are washing vehicles, handing out clothes, etc….they want to fight and are not…..mercenaries would be good but we both know that that will cost more money and lives in the end….
Thanx John…I am trying to keep the focuson what is happening so we may not make the same mistakes again…a daunting task…..LOL
But Chuq – – we always make the same mistakes again! That seems to be The American Way! As long as a single dollar can be made on the blood of slain military troops there is going to be war and rumors of war – – here, there and everywhere – – don’t you see? If anybody is jerking off in the corner I think it is the munitions suppliers and those whose industries are dedicated to the support of armed conflict.
I hate to be a repugnant dickwad – – but that is what I am sometimes and I have to face the facts: When I see a bunch of roaches crawling on an apartment wall I do not get out a fly swatter – – I get out a can of spray.
I worry about the US troops that will be exposed….we already have vets suffering from a sickness……we can kill enough people with conventional weapons no need for a nuke…..you are right the M-IC will always make the cash……and the new defense dude will see to it….
