Violence Will Ensue

During a recent speech/rally/interview (who knows which…they all sound and appear the same) Our Dear Leader was talking about the upcoming midterms….what appears to be a “blue wave” has Our Dear Leader worried…so worried that he had to make up another one of his now famous lies…..

Does President Donald Trump really think there will be “violence” from the left if Republicans lose control of Congress in the November midterms? Isn’t the whole point of winning an election to get what you want without turning to violence?

Yet, “violence” was in Trump’s forecast in a closed-door meeting with evangelical leaders Monday at the White House, according to audio reportedly obtained by NBC and The New York Times.

http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/page/ct-perspec-page-trump-evangelicals-stormy-daniels-0902-20180831niels-20180831-story.html

Seriously?  Does he truly believe the Dems or as he calls them “The Left” have enough guts to overthrow the Trump agenda?  (I shall pause here for laughter)

Does this micro brain idiot really think there is a true “Left” in this country? (that is rhetorical)

If he had made this prediction back in the 60-70’s when there was an actual Left in this country then maybe he would appear to have more than half a brain.

But today when the country is ruled by the wealthy where does he see this non-existent “Left”….as an old radical I cannot find them so I doubt if Our Dear Leader can either.

I find it hard to fathom that the GOP still tries to blame every loss to a Dem as creeping socialism….but it makes sense since their programs are worthless and favor only the wealthy that they would need to make an imaginary foe to make themselves look viable.

There are only so many ways to debunk the lies  Take  fruit salad, a potato salad and a chef salad….they are all called “salad” but they are NOT the same….I wish I could get simpler than that but I am at a loss for simplicity.

The only violence is that Our Dear Leader tells his slobbering supporters to do……not in so many words but rather in the innuendo that he has become famous for using.

What Price Jerusalem?

Yesterday I asked the question….will the Palestine issue be solved?

I guess I got my answer.

Just when no one thought that Fearless Fosdick could get any stupider….he does what NO other president would do knowing the repercussions that it could cause throughout the Arab/Muslim world…..

Defying dire, worldwide warnings, President Trump on Wednesday broke with decades of US and international policy by recognizing Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. Despite urgent appeals from Arab and European leaders and the risk of anti-American protests and violence, Trump declared that he was ending an approach that for decades has failed to advance the prospects for peace, per the AP. He also for the first time personally endorsed the concept of a “two-state solution” for Israel and the Palestinians, provided both sides agree to it. “I have determined that it is time to officially recognize Jerusalem as the capital of Israel,” he said in a White House address, calling it “overdue” and in the best interests of the United States.

He said recognition acknowledged the “obvious”—that Jerusalem is the seat of Israel’s government despite the disputed status that is one of the key elements in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. “This is nothing more or less than the recognition of reality,” he said. Trump also directed the State Department to begin the process of moving the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem as required by US law. Officials said, however, that the move will take years to complete. Trump maintained that his decision would not compromise the city’s geographic and political borders, which will still be determined by Israel and the Palestinians.

Only a stupid slow witted moron would do this (BTW his followers that like this are even slower and more dim witted than their idol)……

What would possess an American president to do such a controversial thing?

In a politically motivated move the repercussions of which will incite anger throughout the world, Donald Trump the elected President of the United States has made a dangerous decision, so stupidly inept as to be unbelievable, that could ignite the entire Middle East, including Turkey, Africa and Europe.

In a quid pro quo for favours rendered, this amateur president has made a decision that marks him out as the weakest incumbent of the White House in American history. Some would describe him as moronic. Whatever the correct description, he has laid the fire for a conflagration that could impact millions.

The only ones to benefit, apart from the campaign donor, being the hard-Right Likud Party of Binyamin Netanyahu who is presently under investigation for corruption regarding, inter alia, alleged kickbacks on multimillion dollar purchases of submarines from German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

To have the world’s most powerful state under the control of an apparent misogynistic, moronic madman is the most frightening prospect for everyone in the international community from Europe through the Middle East to Africa, Asia and the Americas.

Any American president who is willing to betray both Christianity and Islam by selling Jerusalem, the Holy City, for ‘thirty pieces of silver’ in  order to swing an election, should not be trusted further in high office. He is too dangerous and should be removed by democratic process, in the interests not just of America but the world.

This person deserves neither respect or support…he has set the world on fire to repay a campaign debt…..even Christians in Palestine think he is a murderous thug like his handlers to Israelis.

This will not bode well for American interests in the region.

But it should do what he wanted it to do…….divert the media from all the investigation stuff……how pathetic……screw an entire people because of your petty problems.

Middle East Bets That Went Wrong

As most people will tell you the Middle East has always been a chaotic violent region and that this current situation is just an amplification of those traits.

That is somewhat accurate but the big problems showed up around the time of the Arab Spring…factions within factions within countries made some bad calculations that has lead to a horrific war/civil war……plus the disastrous humanitarian crisis that has engulfed the region.

As uncertainty engulfs a bleeding Near East, besieged by regional and global powers each pursuing its own agenda, dormant ambitions and sensitivities are waking up and finding the current situation suitable to express themselves.

To begin, such dormant ambitions and suppressed sensitivities would have never emerged had it not been for the huge regional disorder and radical change of international balance of power.

It is true that domestic consensus towards ‘national’ identities and boundaries is not guaranteed these days, even in western democracies that values human rights – as the Scots and Catalan nationalists seek to secede from the UK and Spain, respectively, through the ballot box – yet internal instability remains a sure prerequisite to animosities and partition as we witness in Iraq and Syria.

There are a wealth of reasons why this region exploded into the violence that has been unmatched in many years.  The problem is that a problem is identified and before a solution can be formulated another problem fires up…..for the time being all that the world can do is try to manage the situation as best they can without things getting worse.

Two of the world’s most powerful and influential countries, Russia and the US, are doing all they can to re-shape the Middle East…..but what will that look like?

On Tuesday, September 12, Russian defense minister Sergei Shoigu sat with Syrian president Bashar al-Assad in Damascus. According to Russian embassy social-media posts they discussed joint cooperation against Islamic State. This comes on the heels of the Syrian army reaching the city of Deir ez-Zor on the Euphrates River in eastern Syria and breaking a two-and-a-half-year siege. Russia has played a key role in the Syrian army’s successes, which increasingly means that Russian-backed Syrian forces are coming into contact with the U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF). On September 16th the US-led coalition said a Russian airstrike east of the Euphrates river wounded several members of the SDF. As ISIS declines, its vacuum is filled with groups whose agendas are not the same and, in the case of Washington, whose policy remains unclear in eastern Syria. That is leading to greater Iranian influence across Iraq and Syria, and it leaves U.S. allies in the Gulf, Israel and on the ground in Syria wondering what comes next.

Both countries are pouring resources into the region…..and how will this shake out in the end?  The problem is the amount of factions and players in the region.

2016: Sneak Attack

Only hours before the polls open……and the story should be which candidate will win….but since 2016 is so f*cked up that’s not it.

If not that…then what?

It appears our dynamite intel services have issued a pre-election warning…..

Intelligence officials are worried about a possible al-Qaeda attack Monday in the US, reports CBS News. The story, based on anonymous sources, says intel officials have warned terrorism task forces to be on particular alert the day before the election. The story notes that such warnings often surface before big events in the US, with the sources saying the warning was passed along out of extreme caution. CBS reports no specific targets were identified, but says “it is believed” that New York, Texas, and Virginia could possibly be in the crosshairs.

Last month, the Times of London reported that al-Qaeda has been regrouping and poses a genuine threat to the West. It’s “been quietly rebuilding itself,” the story quotes an intelligence source as saying. “They watched ISIS become the big kid on the block. Al-Qaeda is biding its time. It will still be there when ISIS is done.”

Really?  I would think there would be more “bang for the buck” on election day…..

I guess we could say “better safe than sorry”…..right?

But after the FBI decided to jump into the campaign some ask if this is just more of the same…..

Armed And Dangerous?

6 days and counting……..

Recently that mental midget Rep. Walsh from Illinois made the comment that if “Trump loses he will grab his musket”…..now he is either talking about a gun of some sort or his wanker….personally I think he is lacking the later….so a gun it is…..

Sadly there have been several such comments from those on the Right…..there was something I read that said that about half the people expect violence after the election…..

How long will it be before someone gets shot by a Donald Trump supporter in what the shooter may likely consider an act of patriotic civil disobedience? Or before someone uses a gun against right-wing vigilantes?

There is no shortage of evidence pointing toward some violent outburst surrounding the presidential election results. Reporters interviewing Trump supporters at rallies, national polls showing likely voters are expecting Election Day violence, consumer-trend tracking firms saying demand is rising for gun purchases, and rhetoric from the longstanding cadre of right-wing loudmouths, all suggest some type of ugly response.

“Sixteen percent of Americans plan on buying a gun as a result of the upcoming election,” said a press release Thursday from Elementum, “the real-time supply chain platform company, who polled 2,000 Americans from October 20-24 and found that among those living in the South, 19 percent will buy guns and among Gen Xers, the number is nearly 23 percent, especially among women, 24 percent.”

Am I saying I am expecting violence after the election?  NO I am NOT!

But there is a story circulating that there could be the possibility of violence….and to be fair there are those saying any such notion is just wrong…..

Is it possible that enraged Trump supporters, convinced the election has been stolen through a massive fraud, could rise up in an armed insurrection, splitting the country? Sure, just about anything is theoretically possible. But how many Americans really will wake up on Wednesday, November 9, ready to pick up their firearms and start a civil war? Almost certainly not enough to succeed. Winning a presidential election is difficult, but it’s still a lot easier than toppling the United States government.

There is the tagline that this will be a “rigged” election which possibly lead some misguided person to resort to violence….but a large scale revolt….doubtful!

Sowing the seeds of conflict in the Middle East

Time for the old professor’s historical perspective (something you all have been dreaded for a long time)…..

The Middle East….some will pass around the bullshit that it has always been a violent and destructive region….that is what they want to believe and no amount of disputing evidence will change their minds….because they know all and see all….

Some experts will have you believe that all the problems started with the Balfour Declaration and the Sykes-Picot Agreement…..my opinion is that it was the beginning but not the sole reason for the violence.

But now onto the perspective……

Whatever else they were guilty of, the two authors of the invasion and occupation of Iraq in 2003, George Bush and Tony Blair, displayed an astonishing ignorance of history.

Many people, understandably, are perplexed by the violence and disorder of the Middle East. They look at, say, the conflict in Syria and ask: how did it come to this?

Part of the problem is that the media focus on the crowded foreground and neglect the all-important historical background – in particular, the formative period in the emergence of the modern Middle East, in the age of empire.

A little reading will help you understand…that is if you want to understand or to stand by your idiotic perspectives…….

Damn!  I love history and the perspectives that can make understanding so much easier…..but only if you want to understand…..

Stop Blaming The Games

My Sunday and temp has been between 105 and 112….the truth is I am pretty much over flipping summer…..how about you?

How many times have you heard someone say that all the violence problems we have these days can all lead back to all these damn video games?  We have games about killing hookers and stealing cars, war of all colors and just pretty much anything that could have a violent content…..

In reality, can we really blame the games or is that just an excuse from whiners?

Claims linking violent video games to societal violence lack evidence, yet continue to inspire moral panic.

The tragic July 22 shooting in Munich has revived claims linking violent video games to societal violence. The latest to raise this specter was German Interior Minister Thomas de Maizière, who claimed that violent video games “helped inspire” the attack. This episode follows a fairly familiar pattern: A politician or police officer discovers that the young male perpetrator of a horrible crime also happened to play violent video games (as almost all young males do), and links the two in a public statement. News media decides to treat clueless speculation as something near to fact, and the next turn of the violent video game moral panic is on.

In truth, there’s no evidence to connect violent video games to violence in society. Several studies, such as by psychologist Patrick Markey and economist Scott Cunningham, have linked the release of popular violent video games with immediate declines in societal violence. Correlation between the consumption of these games and societal reductions in youth violence were well established, but these newer studies suggest there may be some causal element to this.

Ant thoughts?

Please have a good day and enjoy the rest of your weekend…I know I will….see you guys tomorrow with more stuff.

Hate Crime or Domestic Terrorism?

Orlando the site of the latest piece of domestic terrorism…….and this country spends its time pouting and whining about what to call the act.

Sad part of this incident is the mindless speculation from the media and most of the Right…..

Like all forms of terrorism…the subject is boiled down to it’s simplest parts…..that way the speculation appears to be news when all it does is obfuscate the subject……

So was this attack a hate crime or possibly domestic terrorism?

US law enforcement is at least initially categorizing the horrific Orlando shootings as “domestic terrorism.”

I don’t think it probably was terrorism in any useful sense of the term.

I used to know what domestic terrorism was, before the term became politicized in the past decade. It was defined right there in the Federal code of 1992:

I know that most people have arrived at what they believe is the root cause of this act….but I ask that before a reply is sent at least read the article and address the parts that you either agree with or those with which you disagree….

Off I go to see what fresh Hell the doctor’s have planned for me……I shall return a little later……

Nuke Material: Update

Several days ago I wrote about some nuke material that went missing in Iraq from some civilian contractor of oil field services……my concern was the possibility of the use of this material to make a dirty bomb……

Of course it did not get the coverage that it needed because we are in the middle of an election and whatever these toads have to rant about is far more important than some “silly” dirty bomb fear……

So let me once again write about something that has happened concerning this missing material……..Reported this weekend……..

In poor news for any would-be dirty-bombmakers in ISIS, Iraq says it has safely recovered the “highly dangerous” radioactive material that went missing days ago from the storage facility of a US oilfield services company, reports Reuters. The iridium-192, which was reportedly in a laptop-size case, was found dumped near a gas station about nine miles away from where it went missing in Basra. “A passer-by found the radioactive device dumped in Zubair and immediately informed security forces which went with a special prevention radiation team and retrieved the device,” a Basra security official says. “After initial checking I can confirm the device is intact 100% and there is absolutely no concern of radiation.”

So you can stop fretting this news and go back to listening to mental midgets tell you what you want……I have done my part…..

It’s Kosovo Again……

Back in the 1980’s when the world focused on the Balkans and armed conflict was everywhere….one of the regions effected was an area known as Kososvo….but to this day how many Americans know what or where Kososvo is located?

Let’s start with a little history/geography……

The central Balkans were part of the Roman and Byzantine Empires before ethnic Serbs migrated to the territories of modern Kosovo in the 7th century. During the medieval period, Kosovo became the center of a Serbian Empire and saw the construction of many important Serb religious sites, including many architecturally significant Serbian Orthodox monasteries. The defeat of Serbian forces at the Battle of Kosovo in 1389 led to five centuries of Ottoman rule during which large numbers of Turks and Albanians moved to Kosovo. By the end of the 19th century, Albanians replaced the Serbs as the dominant ethnic group in Kosovo. Serbia reacquired control over Kosovo from the Ottoman Empire during the First Balkan War of 1912. After World War II, Kosovo became an autonomous province of Serbia in the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (S.F.R.Y.). Despite legislative concessions, Albanian nationalism increased in the 1980s, which led to riots and calls for Kosovo’s independence. The Serbs – many of whom viewed Kosovo as their cultural heartland – instituted a new constitution in 1989 revoking Kosovo’s autonomous status. Kosovo’s Albanian leaders responded in 1991 by organizing a referendum declaring Kosovo independent. Serbia undertook repressive measures against the Kosovar Albanians in the 1990s, provoking an Albanian insurgency.
Beginning in 1998, Serbia conducted a brutal counterinsurgency campaign that resulted in massacres and massive expulsions of ethnic Albanians (some 800,000 ethnic Albanians were forced from their homes in Kosovo). After international attempts to mediate the conflict failed, a three-month NATO military operation against Serbia beginning in March 1999 forced the Serbs to agree to withdraw their military and police forces from Kosovo. UN Security Council Resolution 1244 (1999) placed Kosovo under a transitional administration, the UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK), pending a determination of Kosovo’s future status. A UN-led process began in late 2005 to determine Kosovo’s final status. The negotiations ran in stages between 2006 and 2007, but ended without agreement between Belgrade and Pristina. On 17 February 2008, the Kosovo Assembly declared Kosovo independent. Since then, over 100 countries have recognized Kosovo, and it has joined numerous international organizations. In October 2008, Serbia sought an advisory opinion from the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on the legality under international law of Kosovo’s declaration of independence. The ICJ released the advisory opinion in July 2010 affirming that Kosovo’s declaration of independence did not violate general principles of international law, UN Security Council Resolution 1244, or the Constitutive Framework. The opinion was closely tailored to Kosovo’s unique history and circumstances. Serbia continues to reject Kosovo’s independence, but the two countries reached an agreement to normalize their relations in April 2013 through EU-facilitated talks and are currently engaged in the implementation process.
With that out of the way and my  readers have a good idea where and what Kosovo is I will move on to why this post……
It appears that violence is once again raising its head in the country…..

Riots erupted in Kosovo on Wednesday in a deepening crisis over relations with former ruler Serbia, with protesters setting fire to garbage containers and government vehicles in the capital Pristina.

A hardcore of several hundred protesters fought running battles with police, who used tear gas and armored vehicles to try to disperse them.

Almost eight years after Kosovo won its independence from Serbia, the European Union is trying to smooth relations between the Balkan neighbors, but many among Kosovo’s ethnic Albanian majority are opposed to concessions made to Belgrade.

An opposition bloc headed by prominent protest leader-turned politician Albin Kurti has repeatedly disrupted the work of parliament with tear gas and pepper spray, demanding that the government scrap an EU-brokered accord offering minority ethnic Serbs greater local powers and the possibility of some financing from Belgrade.

(Reuters)

Even religious leaders are talking the talk for conflict…..

The head of Serbia’s Orthodox Church Tuesday warned of using “force” if Kosovo were accepted as a member of the UN cultural agency UNESCO and holy sites there were recognised as belonging to the breakaway territory.

The predominantly ethnic Albanian territory unilaterally declared independence from Serbia in 2008 — a move Serbia refused to recognise despite more than 100 countries, including the United States and a majority of EU member states recognising Kosovo as an independent state.

“If force is deployed” to deprive Serbia of its cultural and historical heritage, “we will do all we can to defend them by peaceful means or by force,” Patriarch Irinej said on state television.

(yahoo news)

Once again tensions are running high…..the area is becoming a hot bed of conflict once again….the situation in Syria is not helping already strained relationships with countries that surround Kosovo.

Will the World return to the Balkans….yet again?

These international “HOT” spots are becoming too numerous to keep track of by the normal individual…..that is why I am here.
