For months Trump has been downplaying the effects and results of the pandemic…..hold numerous rallies indoors with no masks….and now we have the result of the lack of precautions.
President Trump said Friday that he and first lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the coronavirus, just a month before the presidential election and after having spent much of the last year largely downplaying the threat of the virus, the AP reports. Trump’s positive test came just hours after he confirmed that senior aide Hope Hicks, who had traveled with him several times this week, had come down with the virus. Trump was last seen by reporters returning to the White House on Thursday evening and looked to be in good health. Trump is 74 years old, putting him at higher risk of serious complications from a virus that has now killed more than 205,000 people nationwide. “Tonight, @FLOTUS and I tested positive for COVID-19,” he tweeted.
“We will begin our quarantine and recovery process immediately,” he went on. “We will get through this TOGETHER!” In a memorandum, the president’s physician said that Trump and the first lady, who is 50, “are both well at this time” and “plan to remain at home within the White House during their convalescence.” He added that “rest assured I expect the President to continue carrying out his duties without disruption while recovering.” The diagnosis, just weeks before the Nov. 3 election, marks a major blow for a president who has been trying desperately to convince the American public that the worst of the pandemic is behind them, despite a growing nationwide death toll of more than 205,000 and 7 million confirmed infections.

I apologize but after 4 years on constant lying I am a bit leery of any announcement from the White House…..could this be a ploy for sympathy votes after all we will be having an election in about a month? Or is it a fake to keep him away from people after a horrible debate performance?
Sorry for the cynicism and skepticism…..but he is NOT known for his honesty.

I have already commented on another blog that I just don’t believe it. Too many lies have led me to just discounting anything he says. I hope the American people who have gone along with denying the pandemic now realise that if he is claiming to have the virus, they could get it too.

Who knows what is true it false anymore? It’ll backfire either way in my opinion. If it’s real it means he really was downplaying this whole time. If it’s fake it’ll demonstrate how desperate he truly has become. The man is 74 and not to healthy….. one can hope.

That’s what I was thinking. I think he’s sure he’s gonna lose, so he figured if he lost, he can blame it on the inability to campaign or do the debates and be seen, not his diminishing influence over the general population.
Of course, the other possibility I see is that when he comes out in 2 weeks without symptoms, he can go “see what I mean? Not a big deal–go open up the economy!” And then many more will die.
HE can use this as an excuse and his supporters will flock to his aid…..chuq

The only reason why I don’t think this is a lie is because he’s too much of a narcissist to admit he’s sick. Plus, there’s no way he’d take himself off the campaign trail willingly. He desperately needs these rallies of his where he can soak up his followers idolatry like a malignant orange sponge.
