Closing Thought–05Jul19

Child porn is nothing to sneeze at….and when it is found floating around our national defense hub , the Pentagon, is even sicker.

Defense Department computers are among the top distributors of child pornography. An untold number of Department of Defense (DOD) employees and contractors have subscriptions to child pornography websites, and the problem is apparently so pervasive it requires new technical solutions to address it.

“Hundreds of DoD-affiliated individuals” were recently identified as suspects in child pornography cases, according to an investigation by the Defense Criminal Investigative Service.

So far, authorities have only looked into about 20 percent of these cases. But already, they’ve found “several” individuals “using their government devices to download or share said pornographic material.”

How sick is that?
Surely these people have more important things to do than to spend time on porn, child porn.
If they have that much time on their hands maybe it is time to clean house and find people that are not so goddamn perverted.
Just saying.

Time For The Exit Stage Right

I predicted that after that first Dem debate that there would be a exit of some of the candidates for they will find it harder to find donors

Well it appears I was sorta right…..we may have our first exit…

After last week’s debates, the winnowing of the Democrats has begun—and while former Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper insists he is staying in the race, an exodus of campaign aides is underway. Six aides, including campaign manager Brad Komar and national finance director Dan Sorenson, have confirmed to ABC that they are moving on. Sources tell Politico that the aides urged Hickenlooper last month to consider dropping out gracefully and running for Colorado’s Senate seat instead. He only raised $1 million in the second quarter of 2019, about as much as he raised in the first 48 hours of his candidacy. Hickenlooper is likely to qualify for the July Democratic debates but without a major breakout moment, few expect him to meet the requirements of 130,000 donors and 2% support for the September debates. He is polling at around 1% and sources say he currently has only 13,000 donors.

The first and not the last….

Climate Change Vs The DNC

Most rational people realize that there is something going on with the climate and weather……but for some reason the “centrists” Dems do not seem to want to make it an issue in the 2020….why is that?

There will be as many as 12 Democratic presidential debates over the next year. But none of them will be devoted to climate change — for now, anyway.

Presidential candidate Jay Inslee — who is running as a climate change candidate with a deeply developed plan to transform the nation’s energy system and rapidly slash carbon emissions — had urged the Democratic National Committee (DNC) to host a debate dedicated exclusively to climate change. But Wednesday evening Inslee announced that his campaign received a call from the DNC “letting us know that they will not host a climate debate.”

What’s more, Inslee said the DNC told him that if he participated in another climate debate, outside of the DNC, the candidate and current governor of Washington would not be invited to any of the highly anticipated and televised DNC debates.

The DNC does what it does best,,,,lip service….grand ideas with no substance…..

Glad to say that someone is paying attention to the lack of concern and debate on the issue of climate…..

The Sunrise Movement is planning a massive program of protest to bring the issue to the forefront of the 2020 debate….

With the DNC set to vote next month on whether to host a 2020 presidential debate focused specifically on the climate crisis, the youth-led Sunrise Movement is planning a mass mobilization aimed at ensuring the Democratic leadership approves the grassroots demand that is backed by nearly every Democratic presidential contender and 64 percent of the party’s voters.

During the DNC’s national meeting on August 22-24, committee members from each state are expected to vote on a resolution calling for an official climate-focused debate, which activists argued is more necessary than ever after the first two Democratic debates in Miami, Florida devoted a combined 15 minutes to the planetary emergency.

Ahead of the vote, Sunrise said it plans to hold demonstrations at the local offices of DNC members nationwide to make clear that “the people demand a climate debate.”

Hopefully their efforts will bear fruit….the issue of climate change has been ignored long enough……

At least those on the Left of the party see the need to expand our fight against the coming doom…..

In response to news on Tuesday that a European Union satellite agency declared last month the hottest June ever recorded, 2020 Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders said, “Maybe, just maybe, it’s time to start treating this like a crisis and not a hoax.”

With campaigners across the world demanding leaders respond to the crisis of the rapidly heating planet as the “climate emergency” it is, Sanders was responding to a tweet by co-founder Bill McKibben noting new data released by the UN-supported Copernicus Climate Change Service (C3S) that showed global temperatures last month were the highest ever recorded for June since records began in the late 19th century.

Time to remove our collective heads from the sand…..time to make climate change a priority.  PERIOD!
