BAM! The Hammer Drops!

aworked in the Middle East I saw many do the same when they were away from home nation….chuqI apologize for this late post….but I was dealing with doctors ans such and got the news later than most.

Finally something comes out of the Mueller investigation…..we have our first felon…….

Former national security adviser Michael Flynn pleaded guilty Friday to making false statements to the FBI, becoming the fourth person charged in a wide-ranging investigation led by special counsel Robert Mueller. Flynn admitted lying to the FBI about his conversations during the Trump transition with Russia’s ambassador to the United States, reports the AP. (You can read the charge against him here.) One prosecutor said Flynn contacted the ambassador at the direction of “a very senior member of the transition team,” reports the Washington Post. With the plea, Flynn confirmed suspicions that he is now cooperating with Mueller. “My guilty plea and agreement to cooperate with the Special Counsel’s Office reflect a decision I made in the best interests of my family and of our country,” Flynn said in a statement. “I accept full responsibility for my actions.”

The guilty plea makes the retired Army lieutenant general the first person to have actually worked in the Trump White House to face formal charges in the investigation, which is examining possible coordination between Russia and the Trump campaign to influence the outcome of the 2016 election. Flynn, who was interviewed by the FBI just days after Trump’s inauguration, was forced to resign in February after White House officials said he had misled them about whether he had discussed sanctions with the Russian ambassador, Sergey Kislyak. Mueller’s team announced charges last month against three other Trump campaign officials, former chairman Paul Manafort and his business associate Rick Gates, and a former foreign policy adviser, George Papadopoulos.

Fearless Leader has got to feel the noose tightening around his worthless neck……

  • Trump’s laywer, Ty Cobb, argues Flynn wasn’t actually that close to the president, calling him a “former Obama administration official” in a statement, USA Today reports. The statement goes on to downplay the connection between Flynn’s guilty plea and the White House.
  • But the AP chronicles the rapid political rise inside the administration of the man it calls “Donald Trump’s favorite general.”
  • David French at the National Review argues it’s very likely there are bigger things to come as Flynn is pleading guilty to lying about actions that likely weren’t illegal. French says either “Flynn is the victim of a monstrous injustice” or “we’re still only seeing the tip of the Mueller investigation iceberg.”
  • Chris Cillizza at CNN agrees, as Flynn hasn’t been charged with anything involving his dealings with Turkey. That means he’s likely cooperating to help Mueller bring down someone even higher up—possibly Jared Kushner, Donald Trump Jr., or the president himself.

Listen closely and you will hear the anuses of Don. Jr, Jared and the big guy himself slamming shut.

Trump has been showing signs of mental stress and this situation could push his feeble mind over the rim….

But will the Constitution prevail?

  1. Dems will make a big deal but actually not big deal. He lied about talking to Russians, OK. But there is nothing wrong with talking to the Russians in transition and I would even say OK prior to inauguration. You see the Russians are a very big and powerful country and new leaders have to break the ice to establish some kind of basic relationship through officials in leadership. It would make sense to me to have spoken with the leaders of every single country in the world.

      1. OK, have to agree he lied which is crime. I just don’t think what he lied about(meetings with Russian officials) is a crime. However, if those meetings involved effort to influence election that would be a crime. Still US tries to influence every election in every country in the world, so does Russia and other super powers so what’s the big deal ? It is the nature of global politics. Of course Hillary’s lies are OK because she’s special and untouchable ?

      2. If she is proven to have lied then she too deserves arrest….if this was Hillary then the Repubs would be dancing in the aisles of Congress……depends on what he meetings were about is the big deal…saying hello and I would like to be friends is not what the investigation is about. Any contact by other than official channels is the big deal…..that is why we have a State Department…..who was not part of the meetings.

  2. Well I cannot disagree. But I imagine there are thousands of non state department connections with bankers, industrialists, journalists, military, farmers, scientists, intelligence agencies and businessmen in the private sector of all possible people not in government as well as in government. They have nothing to do with the state department(both private and government). As far as this “Russia is the enemy” mentality instilled in the American people the world would be astonished at the quantity of business dealings that go on with US and Russia. My God, we’re even on the space station together. Seems you can’t get much more top secret than that. As far as the Hillary uranium deal(we’ll see about $ for deal still investigated) American people would be astonished at how much nuke stuff is traded all the time. As a matter of fact Russia sells us all kinds of rare metals without which could we produce some military hardware including bombers and missiles and submarines and everything else ! On the other hand China is buying up world supplies of these rare metals, stockpiling and pulling the stuff off world marketplace.

Several weeks prior to the election an interview with Putin’s unofficial right hand man was aired. In it he admitted “Of course we want Trump to win. Hillary calls us an axis of evil and Trump indicates working together. Yes, we want Trump to win.” Nothing secret or clandestine about that, eh ?

Obama did everything possible to influence the election in Israel by discrediting Ben N in every way quite unabashedly. Well Ben N won anyway but how’s that for intervention ? Then there was US troops sent to Archangel (Murmansk) during 1918-20 Russian civil war. We did all we could to get Yeltsin elected and everything we could to have influence that Gorbachev got elected . And people are upset about possible Russian influence and collusion of Flynn and any other possible Trump associates? Absurd. That’s the way the international world operates and people pretty naive to think this or that non state department sanctioned and secret conversations beyond our intelligence agency prohibitions with Russia by this or that individual is not continuous, normal and necessary.

Jimmy Carter visited many countries on unofficial official matters without state department approval – drove Clinton crazy. Jesse Jackson has made unsanctioned visits to world leaders and basketball player Dennis Rodman visits Rocket Man in NK all the time. I hope he isn’t giving Rocket Man any secret basketball game strategy. NK influence and intimidation over basketball would be much more harmful than nukes in the eyes of Americans.

    1. campaigning is not the same as paid influence peddling….Carter has a foundation for peace and seldom tried to influence an election….Jackson who knows what his reasons were…..BiBI is under investigation in Israel for corruption not a good example…if our investigation shows nothing out of ordinary then so be it and if Hillary gets opped then she deserves it just as any other scum bag in DC. chuq
