Orlando the site of the latest piece of domestic terrorism…….and this country spends its time pouting and whining about what to call the act.
Sad part of this incident is the mindless speculation from the media and most of the Right…..
Like all forms of terrorism…the subject is boiled down to it’s simplest parts…..that way the speculation appears to be news when all it does is obfuscate the subject……
So was this attack a hate crime or possibly domestic terrorism?
US law enforcement is at least initially categorizing the horrific Orlando shootings as “domestic terrorism.”
I don’t think it probably was terrorism in any useful sense of the term.
I used to know what domestic terrorism was, before the term became politicized in the past decade. It was defined right there in the Federal code of 1992:

I know that most people have arrived at what they believe is the root cause of this act….but I ask that before a reply is sent at least read the article and address the parts that you either agree with or those with which you disagree….

Being as the man made a point to declare his act and support of ISIS, IMO, makes it terrorism. His original plan was for downtown Disney, which is where everyone waits for the train. That would have taken in children as well – hate? No – terrorism.

Father is a patriarchal figure….possibly anti gay as a lot of religions…strong influence I suspect,possibly/probably negative….Mother… if there was one could have been submissive…..I suspect he identified more with his mother…but feminine men are scorned by patriarchal men…..was he accepted by his father? did he strive to please his father?
To live with oneself knowing that you cannot accept yourself as ‘gay’ can lead you towards self hatred…..huge inner conflict…1st marriage failed…2nd one?
You need to blame the very people who are your own orientation…in killing them you hope to exorcise your own demons (the denial of your ‘own’ self)….I doubt it was ‘a way to give meaning to his senseless killing and senseless killing’….

It’s worth noting that (going by memory) Canuckistan hasn’t had the number of mass shootings in the last 10 years combined that America had just last weekend. Yet we’re one of the countries closest to you in gun ownership per person and we’re awash in your ultra-violent culture. But we only have the occasional nutter running around shooting people.
Last weekend may have set a record (USA! USA! USA!), but it was ultimately just another day at the American office.

“Domestic Hate Crimes” and “Terrorism” are totally synonomous because both operate from a core motivation of hatred – – hatred for America and Americans. Both are the same. This is not a “Gun” issue . . . This is a terrorism issue! This is our Islamosympathetic government trying to shift focus.
I dis agree….terrorism is cause confusion…hate is for a person of lifestyle you dislike…..the gun issue is a moot issue….nothing will change nothing.

You’re right that these things are all about using violence to advance…whatever batshit crazy agenda such shooters have in their angry, deranged, minds.
Although, it ain’t like he hugged these 100 people to death/hospital. Or, hit them in the face with vinegar filled water balloons, blinded them, and laughed as they fell down the stairs and broke their necks. (Not that I ever did such a thing.)
He shot ’em! He couldn’t kill that many people with a knife, or a baseball bat. There’s even NO way he could have shot 25 of them on his own with an old fashioned 6 shooter…a gun that was adequate for police use well into the 80’s.
So, whatever this nonsense winds up getting labelled by the gladiator battle of spin doctors that’s going on….there’s still a gun issue at play.
