Yep…..I am a peace-nik (a slur from the 60-70’s)…..after experiencing the obscenity of war how can one be anything but?

    Me, too… But, instead of “peacnik”, a label given to us by the Establishment, I prefer the word, humanist…. It’s much closer to the truth; if we can learn to Be human, there is a chance for peace…. with or without the Russki-flavored epithets being applied to ANYONE…

    Compassion, kindness, love, and a stubborn will to resist evil/injustice, are all we need…

    1. My concern about ‘peaceniks.’…..are the ones who have not ‘fought’
      They may have ‘noble sentiments’ these peace niks …..that’s about it…..
      They are very different from the peoples who have fought in the Great War and the rest…..

      1. Agreed….George Orwell noted that: he said something like, “Those who make the loudest noises about war are not those who do the fighting.” I may be inaccurate as to the exact wording; it’s early & Google isn’t awake.. but, it’s close, & the idea is intact…
