This Should Make All Those People Smile

Let me begin with a quote from comedian Ron White…..”Can’t Fix Stupid”

It is no secret…..I think people that support Trump have latent racists characteristics…..I do not support many conservative issues but I really dislike neo-liberal ideology even more….and Trump is a prime example of this type of thinking….

Any way I digress……people that are supporting Trump should be pleased with themselves about now…….

I truly thought that Trump would be one of those flash in the pan candidates….you know the type that gets some support early but then the voters start seeing them for what they were…..clowns.  I was mistaken……I did not known the extent of the hate that some Americans were harboring…..I knew there was some of it but not to the extent as it is manifesting itself now…..

I also thought that rational and logical thought would prevail…..again….I was mistaken……

It seems the Trump is rewriting the GOP ideals…..kinda like…”if you cannot beat them then join them”…..the GOP loyal are flocking to the front runner…..

I hate to see the American political system reduced to this…..and the society that condones so much hatred.

  1. chuq, my friend…. I hate to tell you this, but it has always been so. It’s just that, now, with the advent of the internet, there is so much more information out there, issues like this, which have previously been easy to keep from public awareness, is now becoming glaringly obvious to the most casual observer….

It’s really nothing new; it’s just being shown up for what it is more often, and, with graphic evidence, via You Tube. Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram, and now, smart phones….

The Trumpette is merely making the entire world realize what a farce the entire political process has become….

    1. I know….and yet I still find it amazing the support he gets for his ego trip and that is all this is….an ego trip….chuq

      1. Well, “ego trip” could be a term used to describe the life of 99% of all Americans, or, citizens of the world, I’d say….

A man said to the Buddha, “I want happiness.” The Buddha replied, “First remove “I”, that’s ego. Then, take out “want”, that’s desire. What you have left is happiness.”

How many Americans, or anyone, can understand, and LIVE like that?

I can count the ones I know on one hand, no toes needed.

    2. With the advent of the Internet, there is so much information out there…”

…and 99% of it is utterly worthless, if not harmful. An honest inventory would show the vast majority of it is porn, celebrity stalking, ego-stroking, pathetic social competition and SPAM. Of the political information, much of it is just the repeating of lies and echo-chambers of group-think that harms more than it helps.

Yes, there’s plenty of good information out there. Unfortunately, it has to struggle to get out from under the Bullshit Mountain that’s pilled on top of it. It’s like finding a good TV show in the 500 channel universe. There’s more good TV out there than before, but the odds of you finding any under all the Fake Housewives & Honey Bozos out there is not great. And even if you do, there’s no guarantee anybody else will be watching, or even looking. Because most people aren’t. Most people are too lazy & stupid to get off the couch for just one night every 4 years to vote for President.

The “same ol’ shit” that’s been going on for forever behind closed doors may be more public now. But it’s in a camouflaged hoodie and a Guy Fawks mask. Even with the flood of info out there, most of the true evil that goes on is as unnoticed as ever.

      1. I suppose that’s true enough, but, it’s a rather difficult amount of information to codify. How do you know how much is hidden from you? It’s hidden. Or, it’s lies, masked as truth, hiding right out in plain sight (as we know from watching Fox or MSNBC….) (which I don’t) (watch TV at all, for that matter)

All anyone can do is take in as much information as is available, and can be assimilated. From there, each must make their own mind up as to which of it most resembles what they know to be true, and, compatible with reality. At least any conclusions one may draw will be based on evidence, rather than supposition, or, as you relate, ignorance based on lack of will to learn.

If you wish to hear more of my thoughts on this issue, see my blog tomorrow, on the sixth; I’ve written a rather long treatise with my own perceptions of what has happened to my country….

As for Bullshit Mountain, I find bullshit runs off easily when I coat myself with truth. I guess it’s also an advantage to read really, really fast…. Makes the bs easier to dodge….

Welcome to the cynic’s circle, mon ami….

      2. Sorry, forgot this part…. Yes, the internet is possibly more weighted down with crap than jewels. But, that’s LIFE; I will refer you to Sturgeon’s Law, which states, “90% of everything is crap.”, a law long since proven by repeated experimentation and research.

But, it is NOT at all incomprehensible, or even hard to mine for true information….IF you understand how it is constructed, and how to USE the search functions in any computer. Finding info on the Net is no more difficult than finding it in a library, and has the same process for researching how to find the information required…. In short, it’s merely another skill one must learn; like any skill, once mastered, the problem is no longer a problem….

Again, one must know not facts or theories; one must only know how to learn….

        gigoid, td

      3. First, Sturgeon really needs to update his stats…That may have been accurate in the 50’s-60’s. But in 2015, 90% crap doesn’t even come close.

How do you know how much is hidden from you? It’s hidden. Or, it’s lies, masked as truth, hiding right out in plain sight

Exactly! We think we know so much more because we’re so modern. We have all this wonderful technology that runs out lives. We’re so much smarter & better than they were “back then”. (If anything, we’re worse.) But even if that was true, we still have NO idea what we don’t know….or whether ANY of what we DO know is actually true. To paraphrase famous War Criminal, Donnie Rumsfeld, “There are known knowns, unknown knowns, knowns that aren’t yet known…and shit we all know but you never will.”

The Powers That Be require us to be as stupid and kept-in-the-dark as possible. Since they’re still in power, one can only assume it’s working.

“Finding info on the Net is no more difficult than finding it in a library, and has the same process for researching how to find the information required…. In short, it’s merely another skill one must learn; like any skill, once mastered, the problem is no longer a problem….”

Oh great, another fucking “skill” I gotta learn that will be rendered obsolete by the time I learn it. I’m trying to have a life here. I ain’t got time to learn every shitty new program that comes out. I just figured out how to use my CB radio! 🙂

I was not aware the Internet had a Dewey Decimal System, or a card catalogue. But I do know the vast majority of books in the Internet library are porno mags, fanzines and people’s diaries. There is no Head Librarian in charge of quality control. (But there are lots of movies featuring sexy librarians!) Any idiot can put any book -no matter how inaccurate, irrelevant, or illiterate- on the shelves at any time and it will sit alongside War & Peace, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn or Great Expectations as “equals”.

(Mmm…sexy librarians…I wonder how I long it will take me to find some of that on the Inter-webs.)
