2010 Anal-Ocity #24

I expect to hear one of our political “leaders”, and I use the term loosely, to say something anal and completely moronic…..then I see one from a well respected person and it just becomes even MORE anal when it is said by one of these people….

This one came from the mouth of a well respected journalist around Washington, Helen Thomas…..when asked a question on the street about the Jews and Palestinian thing she replied and on camera to boot….

Jews should “get the hell out of Palestine” and go back to Poland and Germany.

As a professional journalist she should have NEVER made this comment!

Thomas has been fixture at the White News Desk for about 150 years (an exaggeration) and she has let her personal opinion invade her professionalism….it is time for her to remopve her self from the prestigious front row of the WH news briefings……she has outlived her usefulness in the media….time for her to go into retirement…she has had an illustrious career and it would be a shame if it was to be defined be her one statement…..but if she stays…it will BE.

Subject:  Governance/Political Philosophy/Conservatism

Paper #17

I want to be fair to the conservative movement….I have spent much time explaining and the like on Liberalism and now I want to do the same for the Conservs…..

There has been many arguments in the press, on discussion forums, among political pundits about the ideology of the people…..for this paper I will zero in on conservatives.  I am sure that they are feeling left out of the dialogues and God forbid that I have the wrath of the Right come down on me.

So you are a conservative?  Which type of conservative would that be?  I know, I know….HUH?

Let us step into the “way back” machine…my time machine to the days of high adventure….the Age of Enlightenment and one Edmund Burke, who has be called the Father of Conservatism…..He accepted the liberal ideals of private property and the economics of Adam Smith, but thought that economics should be kept subordinate to the conservative social ethic, that capitalism should be subordinate to the medieval social tradition and that the business class should be subordinate to aristocracy.  A short definition but one that explains the movement…..and there are a wealth of variants to conservatism…..we have religious conservatism or Libertarian conservatism or fiscal conservatism and on and on…but those are the most prevalent in these times.

Let us look at some of the doings within the conservative movement…..first of all there are a few common beliefs within the conservative movement…..Tradition, Human Imperfection, Organic Society, Hierarchy and authority and Property…..first of all you will ask what is an organic society, right?  Human being are dependent and security seeking creatures that cannot exist outside of the boundaries of a society, that people desperately need to belong and seldom separate themselves from society.

The two most outstanding belief systems within the conservative movement are the “pragmatic” conserv and the Libertarian conserv…..the “pragmatic conserv believes in traditionalism, social duty, moral responsibility, natural order, a ‘middle way’ economics and a qualified welfarism……..to the contrary a Libertarian conserv believes in radicalism, egoism, meritocracy, self-help, economic rights, market order, Laissez faire economics and anti-welfarism……

And then there is the insurgent “New Right”, to which the Christian Right is a piece of the action, is more concerned with the what we shall call authoritarian populism with principles of social order, public morality, law and order and national identity……this type of conservatism seems to be the conserv movement most politicians are trying to project in the US…while it has its good points but by NO means reflects a true conservative way of governance.

That is enough said…..oh Hell….there is NEVER enough said……

Thoughts Without Posts #6

This is a continuation of the post I do for notes that I have made but did not make it into a full fledged post…questions, insights, musings and rants….

1–When did instant coffee become ready brew coffee?

2–Politicians playing politics during a national disaster should be arrested and immediately stripped of there ranking in Congress or whatever organization they are employed in….

3–Conservs are the ones that bitch and moan the most about big government and creeping socialism…..yet they bitch and moan that the government should be controlling the oil spill clean-up…..this is why I have the problem with conservs….they seldom stick to what they bitch about…

4–Meg Whitman, Repub candidate for governor of California has spent $80 million in her campaigning…..think about that for a minute….$80 million to win control of a bankrupt state…is her ego really worth $80 million?  BTW, $68 million of that is her own money.

5–The media is abscessing on the Sestak thing, where the admin offered him Dept. of Navy if he would not run against Specter…..that type of thing happens all the time…why is it so much a story now?  Looks they want to set the agenda for the news cycle……

6–for months now the media has been killing Senate majority leader Reid in his re-election attempt…saying that he was all but dead politically…..oops they may have been wrong….

He trails Lowden (42-39%) and Tarkanian (42-41%), but he leads Angle, 42-39%. In mid-April, he trailed Lowden, 47-37%, and he trailed Tarkanian by 11 points the last time the two were matched up head-to-head, in late Feb.

7–More on Sestak…..someone in the GOP needs to tell these people to shut up…I mean Cheney’s secret meeting with oil companies could be construed as inappropriate and worthy of an investigation…..it is all so much waste of time….move on to the important things…..

8–Fergie is pissing in her corn flakes, but this is just too good to pass up……

With how much she’s been in the news lately, is it any surprise that the already-disgraced Duchess of York is now in the middle of her very own sex scandal? In its “bombshell report,” creatively titled “Fergie slept with rich men for ca$h,” the Globe claims Sarah Ferguson got $450,000 for sleeping with two oil tycoons. Of course, if you want the details (we’d like to know why she’s raking it in but still broke), you’re going to have to buy a copy of the tab.

I like red heads but so far I have not seen one worth that price tag for sex….sorry  Fergie!

9–Recent a crony of GW Bush said, “History will sort the Bush presidency out”…thinking……would that be the same history that leaves Jefferson out of the history books or maybe the same as relabeling the slave trade as “A Triangle trade”…my point is it will be left up to who writes the history…you can bet your butt that it will be a revisionist…..

You Want To Know How Stupid They Are?

From the VOMITORIUM

By now ALL Americans know the cost, the suffering and the BS that goes along with the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico….lives along the Coast will be screwed for many years to come, especially the fishermen, shrimpers and oystermen in Louisiana…….and in the past I have written about the Rational Ignorance Effect (RIE) (Go to my pages for a definition)….the reason I bring this up is to illustrate just how stupid the voter can be….why would I make such an outlandish statement?  Easy!  IT IS TRUE!

One of Louisiana’s reps, David Vitter, you will remember him from his involvement with the DC Madame case, has put his foot in his Post Toasties……

a GOP senator facing re-election to court a conservative base he alienated by cavorting with DC prostitutes: Push to limit the liability of a company that just delivered what may be his state’s worst-ever man-made disaster. That’s what Louisiana’s David Vitter is doing: Last week Vitter introduced legislation to cap BP’s liability for the Gulf oil spill at the last four quarters of the company’s profits, Time reports. Vitter also says the state needs more offshore drilling leases—no surprise to those familiar with bring-home-the-bacon Louisiana politics. Even Vitter’s Democratic opponent supports expanded drilling in the wake of the spill. Louisiana Dems are, however, definitely not with Vitter on the BP liability cap, and have taken the issue as a chance to pound him for trying to limit the damages his own constituents might claim from the oil giant.

I bring this to people’s attention because he will most likely get re-elected even though he is trying to screw his fellow state residents out of justice from the oil company, BP…..you can bet that he, Vitter, will once again return to the Senate to be a voice of the people of Louisiana….if that ain’t stupid I will kiss your butt and give you an hour to draw a crowd!

2010 Anal-Ocity #23

There are many anal statements and then there are statements that come straight from someone’s ass……I have been pointing out that the “New South” is nothing of the sort….the hatred for anyone with brown skin is just veiled in some vague policy rift…..and the newsest anal-ocity comes from South Carolina GOP state senator Jake Knotts is under fire from his own party after using a racial slur to describe GOP gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley and President Obama:

“We already got one raghead in the White House, we don’t need a raghead in the governor’s mansion,”

This will be played off as an isolated incident…but it is NOT…it is isolated only because more in-depth reporting on the hatred is lacking….what this moron said is the normal rather than the exception….of course, this pinhead prick will apologize and say it was taken out of context….it was NOT!  It is the typical white hatred for anything or anyone that is non-white…..

UPDATE:

It sounds like South Carolina State. Sen. Jake Knotts’ “raghead” comments last night are even worse than first reported.

Not only did he refer to Republican gubernatorial candidate Nikki Haley as a “raghead” during an internet political radio show taped in a bar — Knotts called her a “f—ing raghead,” according to a report from the Free-Times.

“She’s a f—ing raghead,” Knotts reportedly said.

Now this a/hole has moved to the top of the anal-ocity nominees for the Assie Award at the end of the year……

Fin Reg: A Joke In The Making

Daily Agitator

From the VOMITORIUM

The battle has been raging now for about 4 months and all the politicians have come out and said they want the Banksters to pay for their gambling ways with the taxpayer’s money.  But really just how serious are these guys and gals that get tons of cash for the re-election funds from the very people they are saying that they want to control and dial them down a peg or two?

The bill has cleared the Senate and now goes on to the House for tweaking before the final vote and the signature by the Prez…..but is it going to be the “Fix All” that the Congress wants us to believe?

We keep hearing just how much this will reform Wall Street and the gambling that has been going on for the last ten years…..to this I say….CRAP!

A proposal to regulate derivatives. The White House and its lieutenants in the House and Senate are prepared to scale back or remove a provision that would require big financial firms to spin off their derivatives trading desks.  This one provision is NOT controlling the gambling on Wall Street.

And there is more that will NOT be in the new bill when it is finalized…….there will be a one time audit of the Fed and it will not be a complete audit and so far I do not see any limits on the “Too big Too fail”, there will be NO fix……

And the financial stocks should be another indicator that it is NOT a good reform bill….why?  When it was passed by the House their stocks took a sharp upturn….that leads one to believe that there is NO substantive change in the way banks will do business.  From the Newser website:

Despite their public protestations, behind closed doors, Wall Street executives are pretty pleased with how financial reform legislation is shaping up, sources tell the New York Times . “If you talk to anyone privately, there’s a sigh of relief,” says one investment banker. “It’ll crimp the profit pool initially by 15-20%, but there’s no breakup of any institution or onerous new taxes.” Though their least favorite provisions—like regulations on bank sizes, or caps on credit card rates—died in the Senate, there’s still plenty they don’t like in the bill, but given the magnitude of their financial crisis screw-ups, they’ve resigned themselves to some reforms. The health care bill will affect its industry “exponentially more than this legislation is going to change Wall Street,” says one investor and ex-Treasury deputy. “It’s not even close.”

If you think the the economy will be safer when the full bill is passed then you are delusional….we will face this problem again and again and ………and finally…the joke will be on you, the taxpayer…….Why?  You WILL keep paying and paying and……..If justice is what you seek then you will NOT find it in this bill, as it is today……

BETTER LUCK NEXT TIME!

The Bastard!

From the VOMITORIUM

We all know what that bastard Blumenthal has done…he lied about his combat service in Vietnam….personally, I think he should have his pee-pee spanked in public for such an exaggeration…..but beyond that this is just another a/holes trying to make himself more important that he really is…..but there is a cure for this type of sh*t……..!!!!!!!

Enter Sen. Orin Hatch of Utah……to curb this type of outright lying about one’s military service Hatch had proposed a bill which basically says…..

Hatch introduced the legislation as an amendment to a supplementary war spending bill currently being debated in the Senate.

My amendment would add to this existing statute, making false statements regarding participation in combat operations. It appears to me that individuals make these false claims in order to obtain honorariums, employment, elected office or other positions of authority.

If convicted of this misdemeanor offense, the perpetrator could face 6 months in jail and/or a fine. This is the same penalty for falsely obtaining and wearing awards or medals.

It is a crime to dishonor the sacrifice of so many by falsely representing combat service for the purposes of self-promotion or benefit. My amendment would deter those who would falsely prop themselves up in order to appear worthy of the award and title of “combat veteran.”

Now if passed….we will have justice against those a/holes that lie about their military service……..just when you think everything is running smoothly…then BAM!  Another shoe hits the damn floor!

And what shoe would that be, Professor?

Since that bastard Dem has lied about his military service he should be made to pay for that lie…..but now there is a Repub caught with his dick in his military service……From the Newser website……

These are dangerous times for politicians with war records on their resumes. Republican congressman Mark Kirk of Illinois—a Senate candidate for President Obama’s old seat—has admitted that his official bio was wrong in declaring that the Navy once gave him the prestigious Intelligence Officer of the Year Award. In fact, his entire unit got a different award for its work during NATO’s conflict with Serbia, reports the Washington Post.

Now how will this play when a fellow Repub is guilty of embellishing his military service record?  So far it is spin…..that the lying was NOT the same lying….which means that there are some lies that are acceptable…….this should put an end to the media’s feeding frenzy and Hatch may even shut up….but I doubt it.

Crazy Is As Crazy Does

Inkwell Institute

2010/2012 Election Series

There has been a wealth of crazies in the upcoming elections….from a candidate that wants to barter with doctors using chickens to ones that hold signs that read “Grow A brain, Moran” to the hate for a sitting Prez to some that ….well I could go on but it would most likely bore the crap out of you…let us just say the Tea Party Movement.

Some are saying that the TP will be a driving force in the next elections….most of the ones saying this are TP supporters….but beyond that they are making a stand with the people of the country.

Rand Paul may not be a crazy but he is a Libertarian and his waffling on civil rights and calling President Obama “un-American” for keeping pressure on BP is stark evidence the Tea Party faces an uphill battle in the election cycle to come.

And then there is a real crazy, Republican leaders have declared open war on Tim D’Annunzio, a Tea Party-backed North Carolina congressional candidate who they fear may be insane. They’re publicizing documents from D’Annunzio’s divorce, in which his wife testifies that he called himself the messiah, predicted God would drop a 1,000-mile high pyramid on Greenland, and claimed to have found the Ark of the Covenant in Arizona. A doctor also revealed that he smokes pot almost every day.

Yes, there is a candidate that believes that the barter system can be brought back to help reform our health care system…her idea was to use chickens as money.

I hate to be a downer here but it appears that if one has a crazy idea of what government should do then the TP is the place to be, for you can have a shot at fame.  I mean come on!  In the past elderly TPers want the government out of health care but use Medicare or bitch about perceived  gun control and then bitch about the ease at which “terrorists” can get a gun in this country, they want the government to do something.  They do not want the government in control of their lives, but when something happens they want to know why the government is not doing more.

Sorry to pee on your parade but the Tea Party is NOTHING new…..Americans go through this type of frustration on a regular basis…they just change the name of the tune….

The TP is all so much crap!  I understand anger….but this is NOT the answer…..it is just insanity disguised as a political movement.

May I suggest that if the TP wants to be a serious player in the world of politics they need to be more discriminating in their choices for support…..playing off the anger of the American people may not be the best way to qualify yourself as a major player.

Why Is “Liberal” A Dirty Word?

Inkwell Institute

Subject:  Governance/Liberalism/Political Theory

Paper #16

Correction:  For some reason this post was posted on 3 May 2010 and it was suppose to be on 31 May 2010.  Probably one of my many brain farts in a day.

When DID “Liberal” become a dirty word?  As far as I can tell it began back in the 80’s and it kept morphing through the 90’s and until today when it is a vile attack on a person who may have an opposing view of government than a conserv.  No longer is there any toleration for opposing ideology, instead it is to attack and demonize.  I am sure that in the past that opposites did mumbling insults…but it was just that a mumble and in the end they could still be civil to each other and respect each others ideology….those day are gone!  Now it is easier to throw insults than to have a substantive debate or exchange…this is so sad on so many levels….the most important it spits in the face of the Founders….and secondly, it is so much crap!

Modern liberalism was become a dirty word to most conservatives, especially those on the extreme Right that spend their time demonizing their fellow Americans to gain some minor political advantage…and then you have those who try to reduce ideas to catch phrases and simplistic mind games, instead of having a realistic exchange of ideas……personally, I think that they are the most useless of individuals and definitely un-American, to use one of the INSULTS the pea brains throw around.  Yes, I have NO use for these demented little pricks.

With my anger out of the way….let us look at modern liberalism…..

Modern Liberalism is basically defined by a set of beliefs.  These being individuality, positive freedom, social liberalism and economic management  Individuality means that the individual is promoted to refine their intellect, their skills and knowledge, and their sensibilities.  Positive Freedom is the ability to develop and attain individuality through the realization of his/her potential and achieve personal fulfillment.  The state cannot force people to act in a good way, but it can provide the conditions for reasonable moral decisions.  Now, social liberalism……where the government or state seeks to help society overcome poverty, disease and ignorance.  In the 20th century governments sought to achieve national efficiency, a healthier work force and stronger standing armies.  Finally there is economic management…..the modern liberal does NOT believe in a self-regulating market or laissez faire capitalism.  They believe that unregulated   capitalism  will bring about low investment, and social fragmentation or a complete breakdown.

In conclusion, the modern liberal embraces the tenants of social liberalism, personal growth, enabling state, managed economy, social responsibility, the welfare state and the desire to eliminate poverty.

This is a stark polar opposite of the conservative, which will be described in my next lesson…

Is Korean Story A Blowjob?

Inkwell Institute

International Studies

Asian Desk

We have all heard the horrible story of the dastardly N. Koreans that torpedoed a S. Korean ship…the world exploded in a wealth of condemnation and pure pissed off-ness.  My loyal reader and friend over at Quintessential Havoc (blogroll will get you to an excellent and insightful site) have had a few exchanges on the situation….we have agreed that if true N. Korea should be made to pay for this break in international protocol.

But since our original exchange took place not all the info had been made public and I would like to pass unto everyone interested in the unfolding of this story…..this from New America Media (I am NOT claiming this is what happened only that there is a bunch of questions)….

There’s yet another possibility, that a U.S. rising mine sank the Cheonan in a friendly-fire accident.

The first telltale sign of an official smokescreen involves the location of the Choenan sinking – Byeongnyeong Island (pronounced Pyongnang) in the Yellow Sea. On the westernmost fringe of South Korean territory, the island is dominated by a joint U.S.-Korean base for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) operations. The sea channel between Byeongnyeong and the North Korean coast is narrow enough for both sides to be in artillery range of each other.

Anti-sub warfare is based on sonar and acoustic detection of underwater craft. Since civilian traffic is not routed through the channel, the noiseless conditions are near-perfect for picking up the slightest agitation, for example from a torpedo and any submarine that might fire it.

North Korea admits it does not possess an underwater craft stealthy enough to slip past the advanced sonar and audio arrays around Byeongnyeong Island, explained North Korean intelligence analyst Kim Myong Chol in a news release. “The sinking took place not in North Korean waters but well inside tightly guarded South Korean waters, where a slow-moving North Korean submarine would have great difficulty operating covertly and safely, unless it was equipped with AIP (air-independent propulsion) technology.”

Once again….I am NOT claiming to have all the answers just that there are a few things that are not being said in the media or by the admin…
