You Want To Know How Stupid They Are?

From the VOMITORIUM

By now ALL Americans know the cost, the suffering and the BS that goes along with the BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico….lives along the Coast will be screwed for many years to come, especially the fishermen, shrimpers and oystermen in Louisiana…….and in the past I have written about the Rational Ignorance Effect (RIE) (Go to my pages for a definition)….the reason I bring this up is to illustrate just how stupid the voter can be….why would I make such an outlandish statement?  Easy!  IT IS TRUE!

One of Louisiana’s reps, David Vitter, you will remember him from his involvement with the DC Madame case, has put his foot in his Post Toasties……

a GOP senator facing re-election to court a conservative base he alienated by cavorting with DC prostitutes: Push to limit the liability of a company that just delivered what may be his state’s worst-ever man-made disaster. That’s what Louisiana’s David Vitter is doing: Last week Vitter introduced legislation to cap BP’s liability for the Gulf oil spill at the last four quarters of the company’s profits, Time reports. Vitter also says the state needs more offshore drilling leases—no surprise to those familiar with bring-home-the-bacon Louisiana politics. Even Vitter’s Democratic opponent supports expanded drilling in the wake of the spill. Louisiana Dems are, however, definitely not with Vitter on the BP liability cap, and have taken the issue as a chance to pound him for trying to limit the damages his own constituents might claim from the oil giant.

I bring this to people’s attention because he will most likely get re-elected even though he is trying to screw his fellow state residents out of justice from the oil company, BP…..you can bet that he, Vitter, will once again return to the Senate to be a voice of the people of Louisiana….if that ain’t stupid I will kiss your butt and give you an hour to draw a crowd!

  1. It seems to me that there are a number of things that are essential in these recession marred times – ONE of those is to drill for oil wherever it may be found in order to steadily reduce and hold back any chance of domination over oil supplies by the Arab states since theirs is an etremely volatile political/religious environment that we would frankly do well to stay as clear as possible of if we can.

However, there is no reason for drilling in deep water to be any more dangerous or risky than in shallower waters – it simply requires the will and the money to develop proper safety techniques and equipment and the means to deploy them at a moment’s notice when things go wrong – and they WILL.

Overseeing and ensuring THAT is done properly is all the job of the politicians (of any party) and any one of them who seeks to lessen the motivation for proper caution in the future by reducing, capping, or otherwise limiting the penalties for failure do that and the offending corporation’s duty to make proper and speedy reparation as far as is humanly possible to ALL those affected is in my opinion not just un-American, but pretty much anti human race! To me, such a person is loathsome and vile beyond description. Furthermore, any political animal behaving in that way can only be regarded as stupid beyond belief, or already bought and packaged ready for resale to another highest bidder – or both!

As I intimated, there are a whole load of other things I think should happen as well as this and at the same time, but this is a comment on a post, not a whole bloody book on the utter stupidity and failings of our political systems, so (no doubt to the relief of many) I’ll shut up at this point.

    1. I for one do not mind if you go on……..but then I am a helluva guy…LOL

I saw a report about crisis management in the oil industry…..all the research was done between 1979 and the late 80’s and NOTHING after that…..this spill could have been predictable but the people who like drill baby drill have been saying that it is perfectly safe because there has NOT been a problem since 1979….well that theory is pretty much shot in the ass…..

As long as oil companies, car companies control the energy field these types of things will continue to happen……
