New Strain of Fact-Resistant Humans

I am always on the lookout for stories that my readers may find informative or at least entertaining…..and I believe I have found a good one for this Sunday.

There has been a lot of reports about this site of that that passes off “fake news” as accurate….and then there will always be those comments about “facts”…how do you know that the “facts” you get are accurate….I would go into this situation but I have tired myself out debating this situation in the recent past…..

While reading different sites I cam upon this story in The New Yorker…and the title alone made me sit up and want to read it…….

Scientists have discovered a powerful new strain of fact-resistant humans who are threatening the ability of Earth to sustain life, a sobering new study reports.

The research, conducted by the University of Minnesota, identifies a virulent strain of humans who are virtually immune to any form of verifiable knowledge, leaving scientists at a loss as to how to combat them.

“These humans appear to have all the faculties necessary to receive and process information,” Davis Logsdon, one of the scientists who contributed to the study, said. “And yet, somehow, they have developed defenses that, for all intents and purposes, have rendered those faculties totally inactive.”

This situation seems to get worse with each passing election…..facts are NOT facts if they do not conform to what the person wants to believe…..

Moving Beyond “Us vs. Them” Politics

For several election cycles the nationalists have been gaining more and more traction with the votes…..and that pimple burst when a black man was elected president and now a woman dares run for the office.

For too long that stupid have been basically “use against them” in our elections…..that is pathetic.

Instead of looking after this country it is all about the crazy ideologies of the Right wingnuts.  This time it has come down to out right superiority complex…..the bigotry, the racism and the total disregard for the Constitution something they accuse Obama of doing….funny how that works, huh?

Since the global financial crisis of 2008, right-wing populist, nationalist, and anti-establishment movements have steadily gained strength across Europe and in the United States. This expanding influence is evident most recently with the presidential election in Austria, the Brexit vote in favor of the United Kingdom leaving the European Union, and the Republican presidential nomination of Donald Trump in the United States. Although populist movements of the left have also grown to influence mainstream politics in important ways, these efforts have yet to produce as strong an effect as right-wing nationalist movements have in recent elections.

Donald Trump’s success in taking over a libertarian-leaning national Republican Party and turning it into a vessel of white-nationalist resentment, anti-globalism, and authoritarian impulses is one of the most substantial developments in recent U.S. political history. Although most polls indicate Trump may have hit a ceiling of support short of a national majority, the possibility of an openly xenophobic leader serving as chief executive of a nation as diverse as the United States is alarming.1 Regardless of the outcome of this year’s election, the social and ideological forces driving Trump’s rise will not go away anytime soon, particularly given his base of support among white working-class voters, a partisan media landscape favoring his brand of populist politics, and a fractured and leaderless Republican Party incapable of restoring discipline over Trump’s unruly forces.

Home-Grown, Right-Wing Terrorism?

Well if you depend on nose picking, ass scratching Right wing blogs and news outlets for your info then there is NO such thing as right wing terrorism.

In doing my research into terrorism so that I can be better informed when I teach my class I have been looking into all aspects of the use of terror……even to the type of terror that few want to acknowledge…..home grown.

According to most of these mentally challenged people there is only one type of terrorism….and we know what that is….do we not?

It is as if some do not think that a red blooded American is capable of the barbarity of the act of terrorism…..an ignorant belief.

As the Las Vegas shootings show, right-wing extremism is real and on the rise. But for Republicans, better to focus on the Muslims.

Remember in 2009, right at the start of the Obama era, when then-Secretary of Department of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano issued a report (PDF) entitled: “Right-wing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment”? The report was truly prescient. It alerted us to the rise of right-wing extremism, such as from white supremacist groups, and warned that unchecked, it could lead to violence.

How did Republicans respond? They went ballistic attacking the report. John Boehner was especially upset that Napolitano would use the term “terrorist” to “describe American citizens who disagree with the direction Washington Democrats are taking our nation,” adding, “using such broad-based generalizations about the American people is simply outrageous.”

Ignoring the facts does nothing to move the conversation forward…but that is probably what these “people” want….the conversation to be what they want it to be…..

A Terrorist is a terrorist…..and that includes the Right wing worms that commit the crimes.  Terror knows no color….no gender……no religion…..keep in mind that it is a tactic not an entity.

Nowadays there is an opinion on the Iran deal everywhere.  Most of they are not based in reality but rather emotional ramblings about some mythical problem.

Few people that oppose the deal have not taken the time to acquaint themselves with the agreement……they had rather jump on that silly bandwagon of hatred stemming from actions in 1979……basically holding a grudge.

Sen. Schumer is a Dem and opposed to the deal….I expected him to be in opposition after all he is owed by AIPAC and Israel cash…….but is his opposition real or made up to appease those paying him to be in Congress (not talking about the voters here)…….

Israel and its neocon toadies are opposed to the Iranian nuke deal…….these are pulling out no stops to try and defeat the deal……and that includes as many lies and as much misinformation as they can pump out.

Although the rest of the world see the deal as a positive step……but the opponents will not let that get in the way of their vile speeches and writings……

Hawks hate the Iran nuclear deal – Vox

Does anyone remember Nixon’s trip to China in 1972?  Let me refresh your memory…..when it was announced that he would make the trip the Congress went batcrap crazy…..condemning the trip because the US would be doomed and that the Commies had won the Cold War……doom and gloom…….reminds me of the hoopla coming from the GOP today over the Iran Deal……The GOP was wrong then…..they are wrong today!

Since the announcement, to be honest from the beginning, of the Iranian deal the war hawks have been against the thing…….they predict doom and gloom if it is passed.  I was expecting that from that dweeb in Israel but I would think that there would be some back slapping (I know I was being delusional).

Every hawk in Congress has been in front of the cameras and crapped on the deal…….and at the same time few I have even read the document….I mean it is 159 pages….cannot be that hard to acquaint oneself with it………I understand that most of them have the reading capability of a 10 year old…..but seriously.

They hate the deal……which is okay but why do they hate the deal?  Not one has made a cogent argument against it.

Can we ever get the honest story of why the hate?

Reproductive Rights: Return To Crap!

Now that we have a GOP controlled Congress some old issues will be in the firing field again…….of course if you speak with a Right wing mental titan (that is sarcasm in case you missed it) they will try to dress you down for even considering that there is a major push on the rights of women……and they will be forceful in their condemnation of such an accusation……

Congress will be zeroing in on reproductive rights of women…..and here are the attacks to watch……

A veteran no matter what they believe, pro-war–anti-war, does not matter…they are vets and as such deserve respect, especially from idiots that sit home and let others do their fighting…..

I was an anti-war protesting vet in my younger days and I defy anyone to tell me I was wrong!

One Situation At A Time

Opinion from the desk of the Editor

It is Earth Day week…..and we will talk about the environment, pollution and such….and we will talk…..and in the end it was just that….ALL TALK!

I have had an epiphany (I know….a little late, huh?)………the radical Right cares nothing about this country or solving problems.  Harsh words, I know but look at the situation with politics today.

The Right is always up in arms about this situation and that…….they all have an opinion on Benghazi and the IRS and Holder and some freeloading rancher……but what are their ideas for solving problems?

Let me guess all our problems will disappear if we government is a lot smaller…..but just how will they accomplish that?  Everybody will be better off if we eliminate abortions altogether.  Maybe we will hit a new stride if we repeal Obamacare.

We all know what their slogans are……limited government…..end social welfare programs…..adhere to traditional values………protect morality……….slogans…….slogans……….great dog whistle issues but just how will they go about achieving their ends?

Without solutions……they have NOTHING!

But yet Americans fall victim to these con jobs almost every time.

I would keep trying to help people see….but why?  Americans go through life blindfolded…..a blindfold of their own making……..American politics is the biggest joke on the international stage………I wish I could blame it on something substantial…..but the truth is that it is not funny……..and the voter gets more stupid by the election……..

When we ever learn?

The answer is….not until we have shot our little toe off……..and then it is too late for a pedicure…..
