“I was interested in this project because it increasingly seemed to me that polarization and political identities were increasingly bearing the brunt of the blame –– perhaps erroneously –– for socially undesirable beliefs and actions that were probably the product of other orientations, like conspiracy thinking and a tendency to view politics as a struggle between good and evil,” said co-author Adam M. Enders, an assistant professor of political science at the University of Louisville.

Right Searches For A Martyr

The failed coup of 06 January has brought about many silly statements and actions by the lunatic Right…..most of their attempts to revise the events of 06 January are not generating the interest they had hoped it would have gone in search of a single person they can use as the face of the insurrection and elevate to martyrdom.

And now it appears they have the person they want as a martyr for the cause…..Ashli Babbitt–the bitch that was shot and killed during the failed coup attempt….

On January 6, motivated by then-President Donald Trump’s lies about the 2020 election, a mob of pro-Trump extremists stormed the United States Capitol, shattering windows, beating police officers, ransacking offices, and threatening the lives of any lawmaker seen as disloyal to Trump.

Among these rioters was Ashli Babbitt, who was shot by an unnamed law enforcement officer while trying to climb through a broken window to infiltrate the Speaker’s Lobby.

Though the right constantly contorts itself to justify the shootings of unarmed Black people by police, Trump’s supporters instantly enshrined Babbitt as a martyr, rather than someone leading a violent mob into a restricted area of the United States Capitol while calling for the execution of elected officials.

Now, Trump himself is fully adopting that rhetoric, having released a statement hailing her as a patriot.

“I spoke to the wonderful mother and devoted husband of Ashli Babbitt, who was murdered at the hands of someone who never should have pulled the trigger of his gun. We know who he is. If that happened to the “other side,” there would be riots all over America and yet, there are far more people represented by Ashli, who truly loved America, than there are on the other side. The Radical Left haters cannot be allowed to get away with this. There must be justice!”

Trump has repeatedly praised the failed insurrectionists. Even hours after they infiltrated the Capitol—when he finally asked them to go home—he emphasized that they were “very special” and that “we love you.”

A New Hampshire man who admitted in a media interview to entering the Capitol and drinking wine he stole from a lawmaker’s office said he’s running to unseat Democrat Ann Kuster as state representative.

Josh and Jessica Bustle have reached a plea agreement for their participation in the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol. Jessica infamously posted on social media that Vice President Mike “Pence is a traitor.”

The couple was charged with knowingly entering or remaining in any restricted building or grounds without lawful authority, knowingly engaging in disorderly or disruptive conduct in restricted building or grounds, violent entry and disorderly conduct on capitol grounds, and parading, demonstrating, or picketing in Capitol buildings.

“Several tips were received indicating that Jessica BUSTLE and her husband Joshua BUSTLE were present at the Capitol and entered the building,” said the Statement of Facts from the Justice Department. “These tips included Facebook postings which appear to have been made by Jessica BUSTLE.”

A new federal intelligence report warns that adherents of QAnon, the conspiracy theory embraced by some in the mob that stormed the U.S. Capitol, could target Democrats and other political opponents for more violence as the movement’s false prophecies don’t come true.

Many QAnon followers believe former President Donald Trump was fighting enemies within the so-called “deep state” to expose a cabal of Satan-worshipping cannibals operating a child sex-trafficking ring. Trump’s loss to President Joe Biden disillusioned some believers in “The Storm,” a supposed reckoning in which Trump’s enemies would be tried and executed. Some adherents have now pivoted to believing Trump is the “shadow president” or Biden’s victory was an illusion.

The report was compiled by the FBI and the Department of Homeland Security and released Monday by Senator Martin Heinrich, a New Mexico Democrat. It predicts that while some QAnon adherents will pull back, others “likely will begin to believe they can no longer “trust the plan” referenced in QAnon posts and that they have an obligation to change from serving as “digital soldiers” toward engaging in real-world violence.”

A U.S. Capitol rioter says he attacked a police officer during the Jan. 6 insurrection because the officer made fun of the Donald Trump supporters violently storming the building.

Newly released video shows 54-year-old Thomas Webster, a Marine Corps veteran and former New York City police officer, screaming profanities at officers and striking at least one of them with a flagpole before tackling the officer, but his defense attorneys intend to blame the victim for the attack, reported MSNBC’s Scott MacFarlane.

“Showing little regard for the peaceful protesters present, Officer N.R. can be seen reaching over the metal barrier and pushing a peaceful male protester wearing a maroon sweatshirt who was blinded by pepper spray,” a court filing says. “Officer N.R. can also be observed mocking several protesters who were complaining about this Officer’s excessive use of force.”

Waco Tribune-Herald reported that a man from Gatesville, Texas who claimed he felt “invincible” storming the Capitol is among the many arrested by the FBI for their involvement in the incident.

Stacy Wade Hager, 57, was arrested May 27 in Waco after someone who saw his Facebook posts alerted federal authorities.

“Photos from the riot show Hager wearing a ‘Trump’ baseball cap and carrying a Texas flag. Hager is seen on a video talking to a District of Columbia Metropolitan Police Department officer outside the Capitol, according to records in his case. The officer told Hager, ‘Nah, nah, I get it, you are just walking up behind our line,’ according to federal records,” wrote the Waco Tribune-Herald. “‘Hager then responded: ‘Actually that was my purpose.’ The MPD officer continued, ‘If you could not, we are all trying to stay safe and get home.’ Hager replied, ‘I know you are and I really appreciate y’all.’ However, Hager continued to walk past the MPD officer and through the barricades where he was instructed by police not to go,’ according to federal records.”

One insurrectionist is trying to find a way to lessen the penalty for her actions on 06 January….

An Indiana woman, expected Wednesday to be the first of more than 400 people charged in the Capitol attack to be sentenced, has agreed to plead guilty to a single federal charge, saying movies and books have showed her what life is like for nonwhite people. In a letter to the judge, Anna Morgan-Lloyd of Bloomfield apologized for entering the Capitol building and failing to remove herself from a violent crowd. Had she done so, violent participants “may have lost the nerve to do what they did,” wrote the 49-year-old grandmother, per the Indianapolis Star. “For that I am sorry and take responsibility.” Attached to her letter were movie and book reports for Schindler’s List, which tells of a factory owner’s efforts to save 1,200 Jews during the Holocaust, and Just Mercy, which explores Bryan Stevenson’s career fighting against racial injustice in the legal system.

Morgan-Lloyd said she’d “lived a sheltered life,” per HuffPost. But “I’ve learned that even though we live in a wonderful country, things still need to improve. People of all colors should feel as safe as I do to walk down the street.” On Facebook, she’d described Jan. 6 as the “best day ever,” adding she was among “the first 50 people” inside the Capitol, per WUSA. But she now says she’s “ashamed” at how the events of the day unfolded. Initially charged with four counts, she’ll plead guilty to misdemeanor parading, demonstrating or picketing in a Capitol building in exchange for three years probation, a $500 fine, and 40 hours of community service, per WUSA. Acting US Attorney Channing Phillips has agreed to the deal, acknowledging her remorse, lack of criminal history, and cooperation. Authorities note she didn’t engage in violence or damage property.

Marjorie Taylor Greene, during an interview on a conservative podcast this week, compared House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s decision to continue to require members of the House to wear masks on the chamber floor to steps the Nazis took to control the Jewish population during the Holocaust.

Greene, in a conversation with the Christian Broadcasting Network’s David Brody Real America’s Voice TV show “The Water Cooler,” attacked Pelosi and accused her of being a hypocrite for asking GOP members to prove they have all been vaccinated before allowing members to be in the House chamber without a mask.
“You know, we can look back at a time in history where people were told to wear a gold star, and they were definitely treated like second class citizens, so much so that they were put in trains and taken to gas chambers in Nazi Germany,” Greene said. “And this is exactly the type of abuse that Nancy Pelosi is talking about.”

Apparently under the leadership of Kevin McCarty there is NO code…..and where is Pelosi?

Kevin stepped up when Rep. King made so many racial inflammatory remarks and stripped him of his committee assignments….well to be honest Greene has been stripped as well….

The “Code” basically applies to debate on the floor of the House…..so apparently a Congressperson can act in any way when not part of a floor debate….did I get that part right?

After thinking about it for a few days, Republican congressional leaders have slammed Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene’s likening of coronavirus rules to the Holocaust. House Republican Leader Kevin McCarthy and Senate Minority Leader did not hedge in their statements Tuesday. “Marjorie is wrong, and her intentional decision to compare the horrors of the Holocaust with wearing masks is appalling,” McCarthy said. “The Holocaust is the greatest atrocity committed in history. The fact that this needs to be stated today is deeply troubling.” McConnell said Greene’s remarks that started over the weekend were “outrageous” and “reprehensible,” CNBC reports. Greene, a first-term lawmaker from Georgia, already lost her committee assignments for advocating conspiracy theories. McCarthy hasn’t taken steps against her for statements made since then, though he disavowed them.

Greene made her claims in Twitter posts criticizing businesses for having vaccine mandates or lifting mask rules only for those who are vaccinated, including a grocer’s requirement that vaccinated employees put a logo on their name tag. “Vaccinated employees get a vaccination logo just like the Nazi’s forced Jewish people to wear a gold star,” she posted Tuesday, per the New York Times. Greene has received other blowback. “Please educate yourself so that you can realize how absolutely wrong and inappropriate it is to compare proof of vaccination with the 6 million Jews who were exterminated by Nazis,” the Republican Jewish Coalition tweeted. Greene defended her comparison Tuesday, referring to attempts to “shame” noncompliant people.

I would like to be fair and post Greene’s response…..

Greene has attempted to defend her comments and claimed she wasn’t making a comparison to the Holocaust.

“I never compared it to the Holocaust, only the discrimination against Jews in early Nazi years. Stop feeding into the left wing media attacks on me. Everyone should be concerned about the squads support for terrorists and discrimination against unvaxxed people,” Greene stated.

As usual the defense had nothing to do with reality just an attack on Dems…..

That ‘condemnation’ is as wimpy as it gets….imagine what they, GOP, would be yelling if a Dem had made those lame ass comments.

If the GOP wins the majority in the House in 2022 then I feel this country is fucked (sorry for the vulgarity…but it was the best word to describe the situation)……and we should all weep for this country.

Most career politicians in my opinion are sleazy actors addicted to power and high dollar donors….not the country.

Since the 1990s the Congress has become a major circus….the dignified debate and disagreements have become a a bad opera with antics and infantile situations….like the idiot that delivered pizza to a classified briefing….and then there is the newest clown on the Right, Taylor-Greene.

Since she lost her committees she has worked to find ways to get on camera and her newest skit is just simply undignified pursuit…..

  • AOC turned around once and threw her hands in the air “in an exasperated motion,” per the Post. Later, an AOC spokesperson said Greene “tried to begin an argument” with AOC, and when the latter “tried to walk away, Congresswoman Greene began screaming and called Rep. Ocasio-Cortez a terrorist sympathizer.” Added spokeswoman Lauren Hitt: “We hope leadership and the Sergeant at Arms will take real steps to make Congress a safe, civil place for all Members and staff—especially as many offices are discussing reopening.”
  • Greene called AOC a “chicken” after the incident. And on Twitter on Thursday, she wrote, “‘Ms. Defund The Police’ wants to call the police for security bc she’s afraid of debating with me about her socialist (Green New Deal.)” The Hill notes that Greene challenged AOC to a debate last month on the plan. In her Thursday tweet, Greene called AOC “a fraud & a hypocrite.”
  • This isn’t Greene’s first run-in with a congressional colleague. Democratic Rep. Cori Bush moved her office away from Greene’s after accusing Greene and her staff of berating her in a hallway. Greene said it was the other way around.
  • NBC News notes that the new confrontation meshes with Greene’s style of accosting political opponents verbally and in public. Before becoming a member of Congress, she posted a video of one such encounter with teenage gun-control advocate David Hogg outside the Capitol.

When will the House GOP step up and rein in this twat?

I stated several times during the last four years that I thought that the last president surrounded himself with morons as advisers…..and the biggest moron was a economic anchor on CNBC, Larry Kudlow…..basically he played an economist on TV.

As someone who studied economics I heard nothing from this person that would have lead me to feel confident that the last guy had good advice.

Over the weekend this toad opened his mouth and spewed stupid.

To the point hat I shot coffee out my nose.

He was helping spread the bullsh*t that Biden’s climate change ideas would eliminate red meat from our diets……of course this is just a BS line because they have nothing else but lies and disinformation.

And now for the stupid from yet another Trump moron…..

Larry Kudlow, a Fox Business host and former Trump economic advisor, raged against the idea of “plant-based beer” on his Friday-night show and falsely claimed that President Joe Biden’s climate plan would require Americans to give up meat.

“Get this: America has to stop eating meat, stop eating poultry, fish, seafood, eggs, dairy, and animal-based fats,” Kudlow said. “OK, you got that? No burgers on July 4. No steaks on the barbie. I’m sure middle America is just going to love that. Can you grill those Brussels sprouts?

“So get ready: You can throw back a plant-based beer with your grilled Brussels sprouts and wave your American flag. Call it July 4 green,” Kudlow said.

They Came To Destroy

It is 2008 and a black man, Barack Obama, is elected president of the United States….part of the country rejoiced and proclaimed a new ear for the nation……and part went into a conspiracy spiral of doom and gloom.

This doom and gloom gave rise to the Tea Party and the election of many adherents to the precepts of this movement…..fiscal conservatism of lower taxes and debt reduction…..all noble causes that I can understand and even embrace in some part.

It then devolved into limited government, unapologetic U.S. sovereignty, and constitutional originalism.

But who were these original supporters?

In those days the Tea Party says it champions principles over politics…..on that statement I can completely agree…..sadly that was only a statement for political leverage….none of those elected had any intention of principles over politics.

Then the first appearances of guns at rallies….basically to intimidate politicians into compliance.

Yet another de-evolution of the American experience.

Finally the Tea Partyers get their chance by being elected to Congress and as usual principles meant nothing….they did their part to bring the Congress to a standstill by using the technique of obstruction.

What is political obstruction…..it is the practice of deliberately delaying or preventing a process or change.  Obstructionism can also take the form of widespread agreement to oppose policies from the other side of a political debate or dispute. 

So now you see what is going on in the GOP which by the way has been totally taken over by politicians who never intended to govern but rather their sole purpose is to disrupt and close down the government.

These slugs are accomplishing nothing that would assist this country to progress into the 21st century.

As long as the American voter keeps falling for carp and lies and electing total morons to Congress these divisions will continue to tug at the very fabric of our country.

If Americans truly want all this obstruction to end then the best place to start is with the rich bastards and think tanks that are allowed to dictate policy….not the people…..that is if they want this country to become a country again as opposed to the 50 separate little dictatorships that we have now.

Now that mouth has opened again……

Months after claiming there was “not a real pandemic,” Ted Nugent found himself sicker than he’d ever been in his life. “I have had flu symptoms for the last 10 days. … I thought I was dying,” the rocker said Monday on a Facebook Live stream, noting he’d tested positive for COVID-19 that same day, per the Fort Worth Star-Telegram. However, the right-wing musician echoed former President Trump in calling it “the Chinese virus.” “I’ve got a stuffed-up head, body aches. My God, what a pain in the ass,” he went on. “I literally could hardly crawl out of bed the last few days. But I did, I crawled.” The 72-year-old Nugent had prefaced the announcement by saying, “Everybody told me I should not announce this.” He has called the pandemic a scam, spread misinformation about the vaccine, and doubted the US death toll in recent months.

n August, he claimed the pandemic was a “leftist scam to destroy [Trump],” per the Star-Telegram. In December, he said it was “not a real pandemic and that’s not a real vaccine.” Then last month, he claimed the US death toll was false. “They claim 500,000 people have died from COVID-19. Bulls—,” he said on a Facebook stream, per NME. “‘Well, this guy was stabbed to death, but they made me put down COVID,'” he added, impersonating a medical examiner. Nugent again touched upon the vaccine during Monday’s stream, which found him breathing heavily and coughing occasionally. “Nobody knows what’s in it. Actually, some people do know what’s in it,” he said, claiming doctors were “forcing it upon people.” He suggested he’d be fine. “I’m notorious for plowing through any obstacles, including a positive test for Chinese-19,” he said.

Ever noticed the more radically Right groups give their endeavors those “patriotic” sounding names to cover up their fascistic leanings?

Groups like the Freedom Caucus….that batch of Tea Partyers that do little governing rather are there in the House to obstruct and being the government to a halt.

First there will be a new Trumpism think tank….the America First Policy Institute…..

Malcolm X, Mark Twain, Malcolm Gladwell. Lewis Carroll, Steve Jobs. Douglas Adams, Mohandas Gandhi, Rocky Balboa – all seem unlikely sources of inspiration for a definition of Trumpism.

Yet these are among the prominent figures quoted by members of a new thinktank dedicated to resurrecting former US president Donald Trump’s populist-nationalist agenda.

The America First Policy Institute (AFPI) describes itself as both “non-profit” and “non-partisan”. Critics, however, regard it as a cash cow for alumni of the Trump administration whose stained reputations make it hard to find gainful employment.

Trump’s policy achievements on criminal justice reform, the US-Mexico border and the pre-pandemic economy are worth preserving, studying and developing. “I think bottling that up into a thinktank and asking questions from an academic point of view – how was it that we achieved that? – is really important,” he said.

The AFPI is organized around 20 “policy centers”, such as homeland security and energy independence. A profile of the “Center for 1776” rails against “academic elites and demagogues” who are choosing to “embrace identity politics, division, and submission”. It appears to be picking up where Trump’s “1776 Commission”, a thinly disguised rightwing backlash against the New York Times’s 1619 Project, left off.

Well guess what….the “C word” of a representative from Georgia (the state not the country) has decided to give us more fascism and form yet another far right “patriotic” waste of time….and we pay her salary.

Marjorie Taylor Greene of Georgia, who is not on any congressional committees, is forming her own “America First” caucus based on “Anglo-Saxon political traditions.” Membership hasn’t been announced, but Rep. Barry Moore of Alabama said he’s interested, as is Rep. Louie Gohmert. Rep. Matt Gaetz, who faces a House ethics investigation as well as a federal sex trafficking case, tweeted that he’s in. Greene’s office confirmed the launch Friday, CNN reports. A flier posted by Punchbowl News lays out the caucus platform, including nativist arguments and conspiracy theories, starting with election fraud. “America is a nation with a border, and a culture, strengthened by a common respect for uniquely Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” the seven-page document says.
 

Several Republicans immediately attacked the idea. “The Republican Party is the party of Lincoln & the party of more opportunity for all Americans—not nativist dog whistles,” House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy tweeted. “Completely disgusted,” Rep. Adam Kinzinger posted. Liz Cheney, the No. 3 Republican in the House, posted that Republicans teach tolerance. “Racism, nativism, and anti-Semitism are evil. History teaches we all have an obligation to confront & reject such malicious hate,” Cheney wrote. “America First” was used as a slogan not just by former President Trump, but by Americans opposed to involvement in World War II, per NBC, even after Germany’s slaughter of Jewish people became known in the US. A Democratic lawmaker, Minnesota Rep. Dean Phillips, urged ignoring the caucus and its members. “They are as relevant or irrelevant as WE make them,” he wrote.

Let’s be honest….we can call these attempts anything you like….but fascism is fascism and this is as fascistic as we can get.

After I wrote this post and saved it to be posted today news came out that this attempt to form a fascistic caucus within the GOP has been political squashed…..

There won’t be an “America First” caucus in the US House after all. Georgia Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene let go of the idea in the face of quick, broad opposition from members of both parties to the group’s apparent founding document. Greene then tried to put space between her and the platform, the Wall Street Journal reports, saying it was “a staff level draft proposal from an outside group that I hadn’t read.” The document called for adherence to “Anglo-Saxon political traditions,” going so far as to endorse the use of European architecture in US infrastructure. Republican House leaders Kevin McCarthy and Liz Cheney were among those who denounced hate and nativism after Punchbowl posted the policy online. “The hatefulness of this statement is only surpassed by its ignorance of American history and values,” Republican Rep. Ken Buck tweeted.

Greene blamed “the scum and liars in the media” for taking “something out of context.” She didn’t mention which parts of the document she disagrees with or were misunderstood, per the Washington Post. “The Congresswoman wants to make clear that she is not launching anything,” a spokesperson said, per CNN, though Greene’s office had said Friday the caucus would be formed “very soon.” Nonetheless, Greene promised in a tweet to keep working for former President Trump’s “America First” agenda. “America First policies will save this country for all of us, our children, and ultimately the world,” she said. The House already has removed Greene from committees over her past comments, but McCarthy kept her in the GOP conference. GOP Rep. Adam Kinzinger said Friday that any Republican joining an “America First” caucus should receive similar punishment.

About time someone put these goose stepping morons in their place.

But on the downside….the think tank, America First Policy Institute,  remains to spread the BS of the American fascists.

For awhile now we have been bombarded by the lame conspiracies fro that group of morons that call themselves QAnon….and then their part in the insurrection of 06 January is well documented….regardless of the many that disavow their part in the craziness of that day.

Personally, I believe that those idiots that embrace the QAnon BS are mentally challenged……much like the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers….those overweight in-bred dickless idiots.

But maybe there is something to what I am feeling about QAnon……

Many who believe in QAnon, the notorious far-right conspiracy, may have mental illnesses. While QAnon followers believe in a lot of things, the central tenet of their complicated and ever-changing belief system is that national Democrats, aided by Hollywood and a group of so-called global elites, are running a ring devoted to the abduction, trafficking, torture, sexual abuse, and cannibalization of children — rituals of their Satanic faith. And former President Donald Trump is the only person willing and able to mount an attack against them.

Sophia Moskalenko, a research fellow in social psychology, Georgia State University, during research for ‘Pastels and Pedophiles: Inside the Mind of QAnon’, a forthcoming book she co-authored with security scholar Mia Bloom, noticed that QAnon followers are “different from the radicals I usually study in one key way: They are far more likely to have serious mental illnesses.”

As per court records of QAnon followers arrested in the wake of the January 6 Capitol insurrection, 68 percent reported that they had received mental health diagnoses. This was analyzed by Michael Jensen and Sheehan Kane for ‘Profiles of Individual Radicalization in the United States’, a research project “dedicated to improving the understanding of the human causes and consequences of terrorism”.
