Agenda 47

I know it sounds like the code word that turns the clones against the Jedi.

But that is a work of fiction and Agenda 47 is a very real threat to our society.

First of all….what the Hell is Agenda 47?

Agenda 47 would consist of an end to birthright citizenship, further criminalizing transgender people and the LGBTQI community more broadly, expanding the thought crime and other censorship laws to end the teaching of “critical race theory” and to defeat “Woke” and “Black Lives Matter”, attacking academic freedom and replacing it with “patriot education”, implementing a national stop and frisk law, pardoning the Jan. 6 terrorists, putting homeless people in camps or some other designated area under threat of arrest, building high tech “freedom cities”, ending the professional civil service and replacing it with right-wing political appointees and other such partisan agents, gutting the Department of Justice and other parts of the government that opposed Trump’s attacks on democracy and the rule of law, executing drug dealers, starting a trade war with China, and making “peace” with Vladimir Putin by withdrawing support for the Ukrainian people and their freedom struggle. In many ways, Agenda 47 is a continuation of the fascist and other authoritarian policies Trump put in place during his first regime but now made even more extreme and cruel.

If Trump is re-elected, he’d be America’s 47th president, so he’s named the plans for his second term “Agenda 47.” At best, it’s a dystopian nightmare: at worst it means ending our current system of American government; aligning the US with Russia and other autocratic nations; and the USA leading the charge against democracy and in favor of authoritarian, strong-man forms of government across the world.

Generalissimo Francisco Franco is still dead!

I remember that intro from the news round-up on the original SNL (by far the best SNL)….

The reason I bring up Franco is because there are some on the Radical Right that are trying to resurrect this fascist dictator.

Is the fascism? Or is it the popped fur collar? The jaunty cape itself? The military fatigues? The teeny tiny mustache? Maybe it’s Maybelline. No, it’s probably the fascism.

Whatever it is, some on the Right are now pretty hot to trot for Generalissimo Francisco Franco — which I can honestly say is not a take I have heard outside of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie and the whole bit there was that she was actually quite daft and thought the fascists were just super into art and that being into fascism herself made her seem very chic and European. Though now that I’m reading up on it, it seems that William F. Buckley was also a fan.

This week, noted Pizzagate idiot Jack Posobiec embarked upon a quest to rehabilitate the image of Franco, a brutal, oppressive, authoritarian falangist/fascist dictator who killed hundreds of thousands of people. I’d love to be surprised by this, but it seems only natural after they all embraced Pinochet so eagerly.

“The communists were slaughtering everyone,” he cried. “Someone had to stop them. His name was Francisco Franco.”

I’m not going to get too into it, but this is a not a man who is very good at timelines. The Red Terror happened after the attempted 1936 military coup that lead to the Spanish Civil War and would eventually lead to Franco declaring himself dictator of Spain. Yes, communists in Spain at that time did kill people and they specifically targeted Nationalists, Royalists, Spanish nobility and members of the clergy. Estimates of this range from 38,000 to 110,905. I can “condemn” it now, just as it was condemned by many socialist and liberal Republican leaders during the Spanish Civil War, because I am not a psychopath.

The thing is, at the time the Red Terror was happening, the White Terror — committed by the Nationalists and Royalists — was also happening, was far worse and lasted far longer, with death tolls ranging from 160,000–200,000. Unlike the Red Terror, the White Terror was organized and calculated, as well as supported by the right-wing leaders at the time.

Trump Will Not Win–But….

I know I have written some really disturbing stuff about Trump and the possibility of him winning the 2024 election….and most of it I believe will be disastrous for this country and its citizens…..but there are those among us that do not believe he can win and the aftermath that will ensue if he doesn’t.

Buried deep in an analysis of all of the reasons why Donald Trump will go down to defeat against President Joe Biden in the 2024 presidential election, a columnist suggested that history is not on his side and that the MAGA movement is winding down.

Writing for the Atlantic, Hussein Ibish of the Arab Gulf States Institute in Washington explained that there are multiple roadblocks that will deny Trump a second presidency, including his extensive list of criminal trials that are casting a cloud over his campaign, his disparaging comments about the military that are resurfacing, and the fact that he is not the man he was in 2016 when he won his surprising victory over former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

More to the point, he added, has been the string of losses at the polls suffered by MAGA candidates he has endorsed and a general dissatisfaction with the Republican Party overall.

“Trump has a strong record of electoral losses with his 2016 upset, which apparently surprised even him, as the lone exception,” Ibish wrote. “His party suffered the standard midterm defeat in 2018. Then he lost the 2020 election. Then Republicans lost control of the Senate after Georgia’s runoff in early 2021. Then his party was denied the standard midterm victory in 2022, barely eking out a four-vote House majority thanks in large part to his own handpicked, election-denying candidates, almost all of whom lost in competitive races.”

Beating Donald the Orange will only be the beginning….more horror will come….

Democrats have framed the 2024 presidential election as a battle for American democracy, but a new column argues that making sure Donald Trump loses is just part of that ongoing struggle.

The former president actively attempted to overturn the results in 2020 to remain in power, yet he almost certainly will be the Republican nominee next year and has promised to act as a “dictator” — at least for a day. His allies are plotting to help him seek “retribution” against his enemies, wrote New York Times columnist Jamelle Bouie.

“The American republic is genuinely at stake,” Bouie wrote. “But as Democrats and their allies gear up for that battle, they should understand that beating Trump is the beginning of the beginning. We need to fight political despair everywhere we find it, which means this country needs an overhaul of its economic system, its political institutions and its public life.”

We can only hope that this prediction is spot on….but then there is the aftermath that we should watch closely….for we know he and his lunatic supporters hate to lose.

In a politically polarized nation, Americans seem to agree on one issue underlying the 2024 elections — a worry over the state of democracy and how the outcome of the presidential contest will affect its future.

They just disagree over who poses the threat.

A poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research found that 62% of adults say democracy in the U.S. could be at risk depending on who wins next fall. Majorities of Democrats (72%) and Republicans (55%) feel the same way, but for different reasons.

President Joe Biden has attempted to paint a dystopian future if GOP front-runner and former President Donald Trump returns to the White House after promising to seek retribution against opponents and declining to rule out that he would abuse the powers of the office. The former president has tried to flip the narrative lately, saying the election subversion and documents cases against him show Biden has weaponized the federal government to prosecute a political opponent. He has called Biden the “destroyer of American democracy.”

“I think from the side of the left, it’s pretty obvious that they’re concerned about electing a president who is avowedly authoritarian, someone who clearly wants to reduce checks and balances within the government to strengthen the presidency and to do so in ways that give the executive branch kind of an unprecedented reach across the population and sectors of the government,” said Michael Albertus, political science professor at the University of Chicago.

Shock Troops Await

I know I can paint a dire picture of the world to come after the 2024 elections…..some may think I am being fanciful but I am not….I am however very worried about our rights and freedoms if the election turns out all wrong….and it is looking bad for the Americans that love their democracy.

The MAGA shock troops are waiting for the word…..

Donald Trump’s “MAGA shock troops” are signaling that if he’s elected in 2024, he will be punishing his enemies, including many of the journalists who reported on him for the past 8 years — an endeavor that will be “Job No. 1,” Robin Abcarian writes in The Los Angeles Times.

Abcarian says that demonizing the press is a tactic that Trump has long employed, as evidenced by past comments where he’s said the press is “truly the enemy of the people” and that journalists are “scum” and “the absolute worst.” Trump has also said he wants to weaken the country’s libel laws to make it easier to sue the press — with the support of some Supreme Court justices.

“This country’s political system is flawed, no doubt about it. A presidential candidate can win the popular vote in a landslide and still lose the White House,” Abcarian writes.

Another equally American tradition is looking away from the problem when it comes from the Right.

As researchers have repeatedly found, the Right is where political violence in America overwhelmingly originates. According to the Center for Strategic and International Studies—an eminently respectable, bipartisan think tank—right-wing political violence accounted for more than 90 percent of all attacks or plots in the first half of 2020, far outpacing terrorism from any other source since 1990. And since 2020, it’s gotten increasingly worse. A Reuters investigation published in August found that U.S. political violence is worse than it’s been at any point since the 1970s. Of the 18 fatal acts of political terrorism they counted since the Jan. 6 insurrection, only one came from the “Left” (involving a Democratic county official who allegedly murdered a reporter investigating him for corruption).

But you would never know this from listening to the mainstream media for most of the past three decades. And as calls to violence metastasize into a routine component of Republican politics—as when former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee made the H. Rap Brown-like declaration that, should criminal prosecutions of Donald Trump continue, 2024 will be the last U.S. election  “decided by ballots rather than bullets”—that denial may soon be among the biggest problems we have.

‘Good Time Charlie’ Gets The Boot!

For the very first time in our history the Speaker of the House of Representatives has been ousted from his position.

The House on Tuesday voted to remove Rep. Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) as speaker, marking the first time in history a House speaker was removed through a resolution to oust them.

The effort was launched on Monday by Rep. Matt Gaetz (R-FL), who introduced a privileged resolution to vacate the speakership after accusing McCarthy of cutting a secret side deal with President Biden on Ukraine aid.

Since a handful of Republicans supported Gaetz’s maneuver, McCarthy needed some Democrats to support him to survive, but none did. The final vote was 216-210, with eight Republicans and every Democrat voting to remove McCarthy.

There’s no clear nominee to replace McCarthy, but in the meantime, according to CNN, Rep. Patrick McHenry (R-NC) will serve as interim speaker.

Gaetz had long been threatening to launch an effort to remove McCarthy. His decision to go through with the motion came in response to the stopgap funding bill that was passed by the House on Saturday and signed by President Biden to avert a government shutdown.

The House stripped billions in Ukraine aid from the stopgap funding bill, but Gaetz said McCarthy must have cut a secret deal since Democrats supported it anyway. President Biden said Sunday that he expected McCarthy to “keep his word and secure the passage of support for Ukraine at this critical moment.”

While the majority of Congress still supports the proxy war in Ukraine, the fact that staunch opponents of the policy like Gaetz have power over House leadership is significant. Opposition to proxy war among Republicans in Congress will likely continue to grow as a recent CNN poll found 71% of Republican voters don’t want more spending on Ukraine to be authorized.

She’s A Super Freak

Most people that follow politics will know about Rep. Lauren Boebert of Colorado antics…..the theatrics on the floor of the House, her mouthy conspiracies and her very public argument with fellow Freedom Caucus member, MTG…..but last week her (Boebert) antics got bit sticky while attending a play…..

Lauren Boebert’s Beetlejuice controversy is not fading away in media coverage in her home state of Colorado. The Republican congresswoman was booted from a Denver theater over the weekend after people around her complained she was vaping and generally being too loud and disturbing during the musical. Boebert sarcastically acknowledged she got thrown out for “laughing and singing too loud,” though she denied the vaping part. Now, however, NBC affiliate 9News has obtained video that it says “clearly shows Boebert vaping.” The video is here. And the Denver Post further reports that the woman who asked Boebert to stop vaping is pregnant. Boebert rejected her request, the woman said.

“The guy she was with offered to buy me and my husband cocktails,” the woman tells the Megan Schrader of the Post, who slammed Boebert’s “astounding sense of entitlement” in the opinion piece. “I’m pregnant!” An incident report from the Buell Theatre said ushers received three different complaints about Boebert and her partner “vaping, singing, (and) causing a disturbance,” per 9News. “These people in front of us were outrageous,” the woman tells Schrader. “I’ve never seen anyone act like that before.” 9News adds this description: “The footage shows her taking photos with the flash on during the performance. She’s also seen raising arms and clapping while almost everyone is seen sitting quietly.”

All that was bad enough for a standing member of Congress but there is more to this story….(Cue Rick James and Super Freak)….

As more and more details are being revealed about Rep. Lauren Boebert‘s wild night out in Denver last weekend — having been kicked out of “Beetlejuice” the musical for vaping and just generally being a public nuisance with her male companion — a full picture is coming together of what the other theater patrons around her that night had to endure.

Newly released footage of the night in question appears to show Boebert’s exposed breasts being fondled by her date for an extended period of time while she, in turn, dawdles around in his lap with her hand. As many have pointed out on social media, having seen this footage, children were seated all around the couple that night, within viewing range of what they were up to.

“Laurent Boebert was jerking her date off in public while he gropes her in a theater where children were present and yet she continues to attack LGBTQ people as ‘threats to children,'” writes journalist and clinical instructor Alejandra Caraballo on X, sharing the footage of Boebert in the act.

To be fair I have been able to see this footage because it is on “X” and I am not because I am a bad person and will not support Musk blindly….but anyone still on the platform should look it up and see what all the hoopla is about.

Authoritarianism 101

There is much being said about the coming 2024 election….there is even some talk of a radical plan to re-shape the very structure of the American government.

All that talk made me think of a series looking at the possible coming battles……

Former President Trump’s top allies are preparing to radically reshape the federal government if he is re-elected, purging potentially thousands of civil servants and filling career posts with loyalists to him and his “America First” ideology, people involved in the discussions tell Axios.

The impact could go well beyond typical conservative targets such as the Environmental Protection Agency and the Internal Revenue Service. Trump allies are working on plans that would potentially strip layers at the Justice Department — including the FBI, and reaching into national security, intelligence, the State Department and the Pentagon, sources close to the former president say.

During his presidency, Trump often complained about what he called “the deep state.”

The heart of the plan is derived from an executive order known as “Schedule F,” developed and refined in secret over most of the second half of Trump’s term and launched 13 days before the 2020 election.

The reporting for this series draws on extensive interviews over a period of more than three months with more than two dozen people close to the former president, and others who have firsthand knowledge of the work underway to prepare for a potential second term. Most spoke on condition of anonymity to describe sensitive planning and avoid Trump’s ire.

Thomas Makes My Case

I have written many times about how the SCOTUS has crapped on the spirit of their position……and Thomas is making it more likely something needs done.

Him and his wife have got politically involved on several occasions…..involved in stuff that he has had a hand in crafting law. And now he proves my point….the next attack is on ‘marriage equality’ and gay rights.

Here is Thomas’ latest….

Attached to the Supreme Court’s majority opinion in overturning Roe v. Wade on Friday was a solo concurring opinion by Justice Clarence Thomas that suggested he’d like to also reconsider cases involving contraception, same-sex marriage, and other private sexual conduct. The pundit consensus has since deemed the chances of the majority of the high court ruling against birth control and gay rights as pretty low, but in her latest op-ed for the Washington Post, Ruth Marcus puts out a red flag over dismissing that possibility. The rights protected in those other mentioned cases are said to fall—just as abortion was, until last week—under a privacy umbrella within the “substantive due process” protections of the 14th Amendment. Marcus concedes that no other justice joined Thomas in taking aim at those other cases, so she poses the question on everyone’s mind: “Should everyone calm down?”

Her answer: “Yes—and no.” She notes it’s true that contraception and same-sex marriage just doesn’t touch the same nerve as abortion does. But she also points out the majority opinion highlighted that, when the 14th Amendment was ratified in 1868, there was no right to abortion recognized—and the same applies to those other cases, meaning the rights they protect could also be threatened in the future. “Thomas may be alone now, but who knows who will be willing to join him down the road?” Marcus writes, noting that what “starts as an extreme, outlier view can migrate into the conservative mainstream.” “When you pull on a thread, an entire garment can unravel,” she adds. “Thomas would like to see that happen, and he is tugging, hard, at the fabric of constitutional law. Who knows what will be left when he is done.”

Thomas needs to recuse himself from any and all rulings that involve gay rights….he is biased and cannot not make a unbiased ruling.

If he cannot bring himself to recuse then I say impeach him and anyone else that shows a hatred for the Constitution.

But how could we impeach a sitting SCOTUS judge?

Colorado Secretary of State Jena Griswold, who explains to Molly and listeners what it would take to impeach a Supreme Court Justice, why she believes the conservative justices lied under oath, and what states can do ASAP to protect women.

“It’s so strange because we all knew this was coming and it still feels like just being punched in the gut. It’s devastating. It’s outrageous. I am personally outraged for the fact that the Supreme Court is no longer seeing American women as full people,” Griswold tells Molly Jong-Fast. “I support looking into the impeachment of several of these justices.”

“This is a fabulous notion, but I mean, how would that even work?” asks Molly.

“Basically Congress can impeach and there has to be a basis to do so. They have to have committed some type of legal offense,” explains Griswold, noting that she believes there have been offenses committed by some of the conservative judges to warrant said impeachment.

She points to Clarence Thomas as the first example: “Justice Thomas, who is now saying that marriage equality, that birth control, that all these rights suddenly are at risk, should be impeached for his involvement in election-related cases. He has breached the public’s trust. His wife literally was involved in the attempted violent overthrow of the U.S. government.”

I say impeach the bastards!

Then impose terms limits ion judges….no body should have a job for life.

I love the idea to hold the judges accountable for their words and deeds…..but I see a problem…the Congress does not work for the people of this country they are picked and employed by political hacks and any action against a judge would go through the Congress they will do nothing to protect the people only their asses.

Thomas and his 5 cohorts are nothing more than political hacks and none deserve the title ‘your honor’….

Deputizing a Nation

Recently I wrote about the amount of vigilantes that are hitting our streets….all claim to be ‘policing’ the society….but read it for yourself……https://lobotero.com/2022/01/04/vigilantes-on-parade/

Think back to the days of the Nazis when people were used to spy and inform on friends and family….or the East German Stasi that used people in the same manner…..and that disgusting trend is appearing here in the US…….

So now Texas deputizes its citizens to snitch on women getting abortions, while Oklahoma authorizes its parents to police school libraries. If an Oklahoma parent objects to a book in the school library, and it’s not gone in 24 hours, the librarian gets fired. Clearly this new vigilantism is a trend. Constitutional rights to privacy or against censorship are flying out the window.

What next? Well, think about it: Deputizing Montanans to rat on neighbors who won’t hunt wolves, or empowering oil and gas companies to sue pipeline protestors. Deputizing busybodies to report their neighbors for using birth control. Rewarding Floridians for informing the local prosecutor on anyone who uses the phrase “climate change” (after all, former governor Rick Scott banned the term, an imbecility he should never be allowed to forget). Authorizing anyone to punch anyone who tells them to wear a face mask. Deputizing parents to sue school systems that require ANY vaccines. Allowing anyone to ram their car into anyone they think “might be antifa.” Basically, just name anything currently annoying the idiotic average American reactionary and before long that creature will be deputized to take action against it, as if it were as objectionable as cannibalism. The list is endless.

So it’s time to turn this stupid fad on its head. California’s plan to deputize its citizens against gun manufacturers blazes the way. Governor Gavin Newsom produced this stupendous idea and he’s to be commended. If Californians sue gun manufacturers out of business – voila! No more school slaughters. Who cares about the second amendment, especially when Oklahoma already ditched the first? Clearly, it’s open season on the bill of rights – most of which American morons oppose on principle anyway.

Blue states could also deputize their citizens to sue hospitals that give beds to unvaccinated covid patients. It sounds nasty, but vaccine advocates will no doubt argue that anti-vaxxers are there by choice. They opted not to protect themselves against a lethal plague. And how is suing the hospital and doctors that enable their lousy choice any different from suing a doctor for providing an abortion to a 12-year-old raped by her HIV-positive uncle? Once you start chopping down constitutional rights, soon the whole forest disappears. But hey, Homo Americanus clearly thinks those rights are defective, insofar as he can be said to think at all.

If you are voting then know what you are voting for….not some face or some lameass slogan….this country deserves better from its people.

2022–From The ‘Can’t Fix Stupid’ Files

Almost daily I hear something that just keeps reminding me the no matter how we try we just cannot fix stupid…..

A regular culprit from spreading Stupid is Rep. Taylor-Green and her newest rant is just as stupid as one might think…..

Georgia Republican Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene expressed support for penalizing those who move from Democratic-controlled states to Republican-controlled states by temporarily stripping their right to vote or imposing an extra tax.

The idea, she said, would be possible in a “National Divorce scenario,” though Greene appeared to be musing about the idea rather than promoting a specific piece of legislation.

“After Democrat voters and big donors ruin a state like California, you would think it wise to stop them from doing it to another great state like Florida,” Greene said.
