Why Are We There?

The Trump admin has decided that they have the answer to the problems in Palestine……move embassy to Jerusalem and to allow Israel to annex one third of the West Bank.

What the Hell do we have to do with it?

If there is going to be any action should not the people involved in that action be consulted?

Since they signed the Accords in 1967 Israel has NEVER honored any of them…..they have been destroying the crops and stealing land since 1967 and yet they are the ones that are the victims in this saga. Why?

Since Trumpian BS has issued their biased proposal the Israelis have been stepping up their theft and destruction of Palestinian property….

While most attention in the area was on Israel’s planned annexation of much of Palestine, the latest UN report shows that Israel increased demolitions within the occupied territories by roughly 250 percent in the past few weeks.

61 of the 70 demolitions in the early part of June were in Area C of the West Bank, a region which is not just under military occupation, but direct military rule. This has included a number of humanitarian aid sites, which Israel claims were built without permits.

That’s almost certainly the case, as construction permits on Palestinian-owned land are next to impossible to obtain, and in many parts of the West Bank, the Palestinians are used to just building without permit, and hoping that the occupation forces don’t demolish them.

The Trump people and the Israelis meet on annexation……

After months of Israel publicly talking annexation of the West Bank, and saying they believe they have America’s blessing for doing so, the top aides in the Trump Administration have just begun discussing what the US position should actually be.

The entire annexation scheme came out of a combination of Trump’s peace plan, and his endorsement of Israel’s annexation of Golan. US officials have certainly given the impression they were comfortable with punishing the Palestinians for not endorsing Trump’s plan by unilaterally annexing much of Palestine out from under them.

So basically the US is there to make sure that Israel gets to steal the land without any problems from the international community.

What does that make the US?

Here is what a people have to say that are hating Palestinians….

Palestinians and Israelis will both gain from what is wrongly being labeled West Bank “annexation.” Soon after July 1, Israel is expected to apply its civilian law to roughly half of “Area C” of Judea and Samaria (i.e., the West Bank), which it governs under a power-sharing agreement made with the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) 25 years ago. Area C is where almost half-a-million Israelis reside alongside a much smaller number of Palestinians. Naysayers from Israel and abroad have labeled the move an “illegal annexation” that would be responded to with regional violence. The more mundane reality is that applying Israeli law to the disputed area will have two main salutary effects that will benefit all the residents of the area, Israeli and Palestinian alike.

Just how would this benefit the Palestinians who have had their crops destroyed or the land stolen?

Just a fluff piece in Newsweek to justify the barbaric treatment of the Palestinians by Israel and nation of dishonorable criminals.

  1. We had a government opposition minister sacked this week for criticising Israel, because she was labelled ‘antisemitic’.. When are people going to wake up and realise that being angry about Israel has got nothing to do with the Jewish religion?
    Best wishes, Pete.

  2. I remember after 9/11 I was wondering about the Palestinian/Israeli situation. I started collecting things and when I got to U.N. sources, when there was some issue going on and a vote taken to go for or against something, I noticed ALMOST EVERY time, when Israel was on one side, the U.S. was on the same. Sometimes they were the only two in favor or opposition to whatever was being talked about. Document after document had the same thing happen–we’d be on Israel’s side at least 99% of the time.

I always wondered about that. I just don’t get it.

But some of what you found reminds me of a line that stuck with me from the film Paradise Now, where one person said of Israel: “they’ve convinced the world and themselves that they are the victims. How can that be? How can the occupier be the victim?.” Doesn’t gel very well.

    1. Money! The Israeli lobbyists have so many politicians in their pockets makes them infallible….then the there is the Security Council….the US is a permanent member and will do whatever Israel wants. chuq
