Closing Thought–04Jun18

Here we go again!

June 1968 Bobby Kennedy is shot in LA…that is your history lesson the reason another Kennedy was not it the White House…..

Nope today I want to talk about RFK’s son, RFK,Jr.

Believe it or not he has fallen into the conspiracy ranks about the shooter in 1968…..

Nearly a half-century after bullets took the life of Robert F. Kennedy, Sirhan Sirhan, the man convicted of firing those bullets, has an unlikely defender: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. The slain presidential candidate’s third-eldest child tells the Washington Post that “I got to a place where I had to see Sirhan” because “I was curious and disturbed by what I had seen in the evidence” and “disturbed that the wrong person might have been convicted of killing my father.” After a three-hour jailhouse visit with the convicted assassin in December—a conversation he won’t discuss in detail—Kennedy Jr. says he believes that there was a second shooter at the Ambassador Hotel on June 5, 1968, and that Sirhan did not fire the fatal shots. Kennedy Jr., who was 14 when his father was assassinated, is now calling for a reinvestigation into his death.

He joins Paul Schrade, who was also shot that night, but survived. The case isn’t without evidence: Sirhan was standing in front of Kennedy, but the autopsy showed that the fatal shots hit Kennedy from behind. Evidence in later years showed that as many as 13 shots were fired, though Sirhan’s weapon held only eight bullets. “Yes, he did shoot me. Yes, he shot four other people and aimed at Kennedy,” Schrade says. “The important thing is he did not shoot Robert Kennedy.” Says Kennedy Jr., “Once Schrade showed me the autopsy report, then I didn’t feel like it was something I could just dismiss. Which is what I wanted to do.” Sirhan has long held that he has no memory of the assassination, and some witnesses have said there was a second shooter.

This should be good for a couple TV shows and a possible movie deal…..

But if an innocent man was sent to prison then there should be some sort of restitution made.

Oh goody……another subject for the wackos in the conspiracy world (Alex Jones should have a field day with this one)……the Kennedys are an endless supply of conspiracy fodder…..and like I said….Here we go again!

Good day my friends…much love and respect….chuq

How About An Apology?

Remember that famous blue dress that sank Pres. Clinton?  It was Monica’s dress that she wore when she had the liaisons with Clinton complete with stain and all.

Clinton was impeached and the country went crazy with the crap of division…….but he, Clinton, did not resign instead he stuck it out and the c nation was split along political lines.

After all these years Clinton has finally opened up about the impeachment and the affair…..(I guess he had to if he wanted to sell any books of his new novel)

Bill Clinton did an interview with NBC News to plug the new novel he’s written with James Patterson, but the former president spent a good deal of time instead talking about his old behavior in light of the MeToo movement. In the sometimes testy back-and-forth with Craig Melvin, Clinton defended his decision not to resign amid the Monica Lewinsky scandal and acknowledged that he has not personally apologized to her. Clinton said he has publicly apologized to Lewinsky (NBC played a 1998 clip of him doing so), but not privately. “I’ve never talked to her,” he said when pressed on the point by Melvin. Clinton also said he was correct not to resign. “I think I did the right thing. I defended the Constitution.” Later, Clinton asked Melvin if he thought John F. Kennedy should have resigned and accused the reporter of presenting a biased picture of him.

The AP describes Clinton as “both vague and combative” during the interview. This might be an example of vague: Asked how he “would have approached the accusations differently” today if he were president, Clinton responded, “Well, I don’t think it would be an issue because people would be using the facts instead of the imagined facts. If the facts were the same today, I wouldn’t.” And he seemed to bristle at comparisons to President Trump. “A lot of the facts have been conveniently omitted to make the story work, I think partly because they’re frustrated that they got all these serious allegations against the current occupant of the Oval Office and his voters don’t seem to care.” He added that he doesn’t think Trump has gotten a “pass” on the allegations against him, but Trump “hasn’t gotten anything like the coverage that you would expect.”

As usual Clinton was an arrogant tool…..making myself out as some sort of victim in all this….and he stated that he has not apologized to Monica in person……really?

I expected NO less from Bubba……as usual he thinks he is all that and was right in the way he handled the situation……as usual he is wrong today as he was 25 years ago…..

Monica deserves an apology from Clinton in person …after all the man misused his position for a sexual favor……

The Imperial Dutch

The Nederlands……Or some call it Holland……the Dutch are great ice skaters, grow bunches of tulips, use to have liberal drug policy, these would be the politically correct visions of the Nederlands……the cliches…..before we go any further how about more info on the Nederlands?

The Dutch United Provinces declared their independence from Spain in 1579; during the 17th century, they became a leading seafaring and commercial power, with settlements and colonies around the world. After a 20-year French occupation, a Kingdom of the Netherlands was formed in 1815. In 1830, Belgium seceded and formed a separate kingdom. The Netherlands remained neutral in World War I, but suffered German invasion and occupation in World War II. A modern, industrialized nation, the Netherlands is also a large exporter of agricultural products. The country was a founding member of NATO and the EEC (now the EU) and participated in the introduction of the euro in 1999. In October 2010, the former Netherlands Antilles was dissolved and the three smallest islands – Bonaire, Sint Eustatius, and Saba – became special municipalities in the Netherlands administrative structure. The larger islands of Sint Maarten and Curacao joined the Netherlands and Aruba as constituent countries forming the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

In reality after the Napoleonic Wars, the Low Countries were born as a buffer between Germany, France and the UK……

Did you know that back in the day the Dutch had an empire….not as huge as that of France or Great Britain….but an empire nonetheless…..

The Dutch are curt and outspoken. I can think of no better introduction to their empire than this: “Here are 10 things you didn’t know about the Dutch Empire.” Enjoy!

10. The Dutch Empire is considered to be, by many historians, the precursor to the British, and then American, empires of the 19th and 20th centuries due to the fact that the Dutch had a toehold on four continents (Asia, Africa, North America, South America) by 1630 (!). The global empire that the Dutch established was commercial-based (the world’s oldest stock exchange was established in Amsterdam in 1602), and had a democratic political order on the home front. A good way to remember this point is to group the United Provinces (the official name of the Netherlands during its global empire) with the United Kingdom and United States. See what I did there?

…..there is more……

A little brain teaser and history lesson is good for those little grey cells.

Class dismissed!

The Balkans, Smolder Again

Ever since the 1990’s I have watched the Balkans, since the split of the former Yugoslavia, because of the conflicts that fired up over the different independence movements in the region.

The Balkans have never been as calm as they wanted to be….it has been volatile and remains volatile….. I written about this region on several occasions….

https://lobotero.com/2018/04/10/what-of-the-balkans/

As you see the Balkans remain a source for conflict that never seems to go away……..read about the history of the Balkan Wars…..

The changes made in the map of Europe by the Balkan Wars of 1912-1913 were not merely the occasion but a cause and probably the most potent, and certainly the most urgent, of all the causes that led to the World War which has been raging with such titanic fury since the summer of 1914.

Had the Balkan Allies after their triumph over Turkey not fallen out amongst themselves, had there been no second Balkan War in 1913, had the Turkish provinces wrested from the Porte by the united arms of Bulgaria, Greece, Servia, and Montenegro been divided amongst the victors either by diplomacy or arbitration substantial justice would have been done to all, none of them would have been humiliated, and their moderation and concord would have commended their achievement to the Great Powers who might perhaps have secured the acquiescence of Austria-Hungary in the necessary enlargement of Servia and the expansion of Greece to Saloniki and beyond.

The region is a source of wonder for me, at least….so many different ethnic groups in one small area has got to be a powder keg.
