Closing Thought–13Oct17

When the news does not favor Trump then he takes to Tweeter and sets off belittling people or trying to draw attention to something that has anything to do with the running of this country.

He is so busy belittling people or trying to gin up some fake narrative that he misses his chance to come off in a good light.

For instance, instead of worrying about a knee or trying to take away the 1st amendment he should gave bee laser focused on the economy…..this week there was good news he could have used top bis advantage and to further his agenda…..

Stocks managed to post modest gains Wednesday on Wall Street, enough to set more record closing highs, the AP reports. Technology and health care stocks rose more than the rest of the market, while banks and phone companies fell. Johnson & Johnson rose 2.1% after the company asked regulators to approve a prostate cancer drug. Luxury goods maker Coach dropped 2.8% after saying it will change its name to Tapestry.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index rose 4 points, or 0.2%, to 2,555. The Dow Jones industrial average rose 42 points, or 0.2%, 22,872. The Nasdaq rose 16 points, or 0.2%, to 6,603. All three closed at record highs. Small-company stocks lagged the rest of the market. The Russell 2000 index fell 1 point to 1,506.

Instead of showing his insecurities he should be thumping his chest about the good news from Wall Street.

It amazes me just how much good news he lets slip away while he chases one of his silly vendettas.

Hostages Rescued!

More good news…..hostages held by Islamic extremist in Pakistan were rescued by the Pakistani army….the couple have been held for 5 years after their capture in Afghanistan…..

An American woman, her Canadian husband, and their three children born during five years in Taliban captivity are finally free. Caitlan Coleman and Josh Boyle, both in their 30s, and their three children were rescued by Pakistani security forces shortly after the family crossed into the country on Wednesday, Pakistan’s army says, per CNN. Coleman and Boyle were abducted by the Taliban-affiliated Haqqani Network while touring Afghanistan in 2012, when Coleman was seven months pregnant, reports Fox News. They were last seen with two children in hostage videos, believed to have been filmed in December 2016, in which the pair asked their respective governments to secure their release. “My children have seen their mother defiled,” said Coleman, who has since given birth to a third child.

The US government was tracking the family and alerted Pakistani officials when they crossed into Pakistan on Wednesday, reports Fox. Pakistani security forces then intervened. “All hostages were recovered safe and sound and are being repatriated to the country of their origin,” the army says. A US official tells NBC News the family is with US Embassy officials in Pakistan. President Trump appeared to hint at the rescue in Coleman’s home state of Pennsylvania on Wednesday, per ABC News. “Something happened today, where a country that totally disrespected us called with some very, very important news,” he said. “And one of my generals came in. They said, ‘You know, I have to tell you, a year ago they would’ve never done that.’ … This is a country that did not respect us. This is a country that respects us now.”

I have few thoughts…..this reminds me of an incident about 6 years ago when some contractors in Iraq went for a hike and wound up in Iran and were captured and charged with espionage.  I though back then….what makes these people decide to go to a region, in a war zone and with NO marked borders and go for a stroll?

Now these people….as the story goes they decided to go for a hike in an area that was known to be a hot bed of Taleban activity….again what part of this story makes sense?

Were these people just ignorant or was there another reason for these “incursions”?

Finally, Trump’s comments….they were more about him and his “supposed” policies not the intel that was given to the Pakistanis so they could rescue the couple and their children.  Again a platform so that he, Trump, can pat himself on the back.

Welcome home….have a burger and some fire and a pie a la mode……hopefully you may find some normalcy in your lives now.

Is It More Than Dislike?

It is no secret that I did not like Trump from day one ….there were a few policies of his that I could supporter but overall I was never a fan. In the few days that he has been president my feelings about him have gone from dislike to something stronger…….chuq

Gulf South Free Press

I, like so many others, have been writing on the presidential term so far of Mr. Trump and I have been accused of despising the man and that made me take back and immerse myself in thought.

As hard as it is for many of his supporters to believe not everybody wants him to fail as president.  I mean I was a critic of Bubba Clinton, GW Bush and Obama… I am doing nothing that I have had done to other presidents.

Do I truly despise the man?

There are very few people I actually despise but there are many that I dislike.  I admit that I have used words that were not very flattering to the man to describe his administration but it was not from despise that they flowed more like in retaliation for something some mental midget has written or said.

The truth is in the beginning…

Bad news… foot is not repairing itself very well…..after I go back to doc I have a feeling I will be in the hospital……and that will limit my posting…..I will post drafts and short messages until that ordeal is by-passed….from my mobile phone.  I do not like posting for there but what can I do?

I will probably be limited to one or two posts a day….but never fear I will return to normal as soon as possible.
