The Death Of Clintonism

All Hail!  The King and Queen have left the room…..(and the peasants danced)………

I have not hidden my distaste for anything Clinton.  To me they are NO better than those banksters of years ago….they are only in it for the wealthy….and I do understand why so many black people think that the Clintons are all that and a bag of chips…..they did little to improve their lives or the lives of their children…

I will say I was not a Trump supporter neither did I support Clinton but the one thing that I hope this past election has given us, as a country, is the death of “Clintonism”.

In September 1963, two months before his death, John F. Kennedy mused aloud to his old friend the journalist Charles Bartlett about the prospects for the 1968 presidential election, in which, he presciently worried, his brother Robert might run against Lyndon Johnson.

“He gave me the feeling he wasn’t pleased,” Bartlett would recall years later. “He wanted a record of his own. I sensed that he wanted the Kennedy administration to be Jack, and Bobby was going to turn it into a succession thing. Jack didn’t want a dynasty, although I am sure his father would have wanted that.”

The fun thing for me is that I am not alone in my wish to see the Clintons just slink back into the confines of the Foundation never to be a problem again…….

With Hillary Clinton’s defeat in the 2016 election, progressive activist Van Jones says that it’s time to move on not just from the Clinton family, but the kind of politics they represent.

Appearing on CNN Sunday, Jones noted that the Democratic Party’s base has gotten significantly more progressive since Bill Clinton was president in the 1990s.

In fact, he said that several of Clinton’s policy decisions — from his championing of NAFTA to his support from the 1994 crime bill that introduced the “three strikes” policy — came back to haunt Hillary Clinton during her presidential campaign
I am with Jones on this…..time for Democrats to embrace a more progressive agenda….one that will benefit every man, woman and child in this country….and let the Clintons become a footnote in American history.

  1. The Clintons are like deer ticks infected with lyme. You can remove the body and head, but there is a lingering effect that shows up every so often. I don’t believe we’ve heard the last of Hillary and a 2020 run isn’t out of the question.

Ding Dong! The Wicked Witch is dead.
Wake up – sleepy head, rub your eyes, get out of bed.
Wake up, the Wicked Witch is dead. She’s gone where the goblins go,
Below – below – below. Yo-ho, let’s open up and sing and ring the bells out.
Ding Dong’ the merry-oh, sing it high, sing it low.

      1. from what I’ve heard and the little I’ve seen they’ve cultivated a condescending princess with a sense of special entitlement that looks down on us peasants. That should come out and be sensed and dismissed by the peasants who are not as imperceptive as the Clinton royalty and sweet Chelsea believes.

      2. She has been groomed since college….right marriage, right number of kids, right….well everything….give it about 10 years and she will be a player.

  3. Speaking from across the Atlantic, I can honestly say that I have had little liking for any US president during my lifetime. (And that goes for most of our leaders too) As for 2016, the choice between the awful Trump and equally awful Clinton was no choice at all, I fear. You lost, either way.
    Best wishes, Pete.

      1. We should always vote with out hearts whether that party can win or not. I should know, I voted for a Communist when Thatcher won her last election!

      2. I used some material from the UK Communist Party in a course I taught about 20 years ago….Communist Party Alliance…I believe….chuq

      3. The UK communists split over the Soviets in Afghanistan. The official Communist (Anti-Soviet) Party has all but disappeared now. I used to be in the old CPGB long before the split. Now I am not in anything…

  4. In one of his books, titled “Imperial Earth” Arthur C. Clarke posited a solar-system-wide culture. On Earth itself, the USA was planning to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the signing of the Constitution. His concept of how it would look included a description of the process for selecting the President, no longer done by vote, but by scientific examination of the best qualified candidates, all of whom shared the primary characteristic they sought in one who would do the job, to wit: they sincerely, honestly, and categorically refused to do it, and had to be persuaded by the promise of being released early if they did a good job.

This, to me, is the basic, root problem we see in all political candidates today; they all WANT the job, not because they’re qualified, or have any wish to improve the lives of their constituents, but, because they need to fulfill their own ambition & greed, driven by their narcissistic sociopathy, and the need to feel in control of others, to assuage their own innate fear of being inadequate. (which they are…)

It’s never going to work in its current configuration, ffolkes. Every person you see, even the Green candidates, are professional politicians, convinced of their own superiority, and have no desire to do anything for those who are foolish enough to continue to believe they do…
