The 2016 battle has been long and tedious, especially on the Dems side….there seem to be a case to be made by Sanders against Clinton over her vote in 2002 to go to war in Iraq.
But let’s say she wins the Dem nomination and Trump wins the GOP…..does all this finger pointing over the Iraq vote give Mr. Trump a leg up if they face each other in November?
To the horror of almost everyone in mainstream US politics, it seems increasingly likely that by the close of the Republican National Convention in July, Donald Trump will have snatched the prize he has long coveted: the Republican presidential nomination. The party’s leadership is no longer asking whether Trump can win, but whether he can be stopped.
Although quickly lost among the string of controversies that have punctuated his campaign, in late February Buzzfeed released a 2002 radio interview with Howard Stern, who asked Trump whether he supported Saddam’s overthrow. “Yeah, I guess so,” replied Trump.

Will this be her Waterloo? Will her vote in 2002 come back to bite her in the butt?
Bite her in the butt?
Would love to see it…
Rather Trump than Cruz….who will be piloting the bible/bombing planes…

Good link thanx
Clinton, Cruz or Crump — take your choice! All three are hawkish to the core and all three will take us all to more war and war and war and war. The war materiel magnates will cream their jeans with glee at the advent of any of the unholy three. (And in the last days there shall be wars and rumors of wars ….) (It is all inevitable.)
Something we can look forward to…more Americans die and more profits for the gun makers….the American Way! Love it
What can I say? Thanks for your comment. LOL — 🙂
My pleasure….
Hillary Clinton is vulnerable over nothing! Her Presidency is cut and dried and the coronation will happen as planned.
Actually she is…but that would require thought and most Americans are incapable of rational, analytic thought.
Most Americans are obsessed with instant gratification to the point where little else matters anymore. You are correct.
We could blame social media but that would be just too easy….
It is an after product of the 1960s age of “If it feels good, do it.” Social Media has nothing to do with it. The whole purpose of Social Media is to allow governments to keep an eye on their citizens in such a way that the citizens actually think they are participating in something enriching and entertaining.
I must be a strange bird for I am a child of the 60’s and I refuse to take the easy path….call it a failing if you will but I have to get to the heart of the subject…..nibbling at the fringe is just fcking lazy.
While it is super-easy and a tad more complicated…..
Social Media (and its enabler the ever-on device) is a brain toxin that turns people into even stupider, needier, more impatient, distracted & nastier versions of themselves. Not that they were worth much in the 1st place. And The Powers That Be like it that way.
It’s the natural follow-up to “If it feels good, do it.” That’s kind of the founding principle of the stupid phone. To have constant access to whatever makes you feel good at every single moment, so you can “self-gratify”. No matter how ultimately bad for you, or society.
It also doubles as the best for-profit corporate/government surveillance tool ever invented.
Few and far between be the ones who go beyond nibbling at the fringe. The problem with getting at the heart of the matter is that sometimes the deceivers create impenetrable fringes.
Little is impenetrable if one really wants the answers….it takes work but it can be found….
What can be found is nothing more or less than the sum total of somebodys preconceived notions to which we become free to add our own and create something more confusing that it was in the beginning.
If you believe that then people like Alan West is a genius….one never knows if one accepts the crap they are fed….personally I will not roll over and play dumb for anybody.
In order to do a good job of refusing to roll over and play dumb for anybody we have to first be absolutely certain by all qualitative and quantative measures available that what we profess to know is the absolute final authority and that enough other people agree with that assessment to give it any validity in the social order in which the experiment is undertaken. Success in this takes either massive good fortune, great skill in selective management of information and data — unimpeachable in the eyes of many more eyes and understandings than our own finiteness …. or an ego beyond calculation. Anything that germinates and grows aside from these limitations remains nothing but either conjecture or … opinion regardless of the degree of relativity we attempt to cloak it with.
I believe in empirical data…..facts are not changeable…..I agree that they can be manipulated to show whatever we desire….but facts are facts….the opinion is purely individual….
What essential elements make up a “Fact?” Who determines what those essential elements are and from whence came their authority to make such determination?
We can do this all day….I will let it go and say….you believe what you want and I will search for accuracy and reality.
You can’t find it if you can’t define it.
You are right for we look for what makes our belief stronger…..
It is time for the brain to shut down….I will be back later….have a good day, my friend and live long and prosper.
And likewise also unto you, dear friend!
Actually, this one sounds rather ironically amusing. I’ll first reiterate: none of the candidates are qualified for the job. Period. So, to talk of how any of them can affect the other by a certain event from past policies, to me, is pure irony….. It’s bullshit feeding off bullshit, as far as I can tell…
If Trump gets a boost from bullshit, it only makes all of it more consistently insane.
Opus was right. “Politics is poopadoodle.”
gigoid, the dubious, sick of the election already.
I am just finding it all so damn amusing….especially the rabid supporters of the different candidates…..they are just too humorous for words. chuq
The Hillary-Tron 2016 is invulnerable to anything, even a direct hit with a nuclear weapon.
Nope she like roaches would walk out of it all the better…Haha
