YEP!
The GOP gathering of candidates has been called many things…..sideshow, circus, clown act, etc……..
The media has done what they wanted….the popularity of reality TV is a great revenue generator….the MSM has turned the whole GOP election cycle into one large reality show……(Politics be damned)…..
And sadly Americans approve……
What should be a discussion about policy is instead pitched as a prizefight.

Yeah, far too many of Jake Tapper’s questions were designed to produce a food fight rather than to produce a discussion of issues. “Trump said XXXX, how would you respond …” I got so tired of those questions. And it’s not just the debates, it’s the rest of the MSM coverage, but that’s been a problem for years — it’s far easier to cover the horse race than it is to write intelligently about policy differences.
I am still waiting for policies and so far it is all generalities without specifics…..none of these d/bags would make a better prez than my dog….at least she has the capability of rational thought…….chuq
Part of the problem is with the number of candidates on the stage. Far too many of them for any one candidate to have the time to provide anything more than generalities. Hopefully, the substance will get a little better when the number is reduced to a more reasonable number — months from now, apparently.
I would like to see intra-party debates….say two GOPers vs 2 Dems….maybe we can stop the slogans and get to solutions….
Found this goes along with what you were saying…..http://bluenationreview.com/lets-not-pretend-carly-fiorina-is-good-for-america-just-because-she-won-the-debate/
I believe the last elected President of The United States was John F. Kennedy. Ever since that time I have had a sneaking suspicion that something or someone else besides the voters have been putting our highest leaders into office …. the SCOTUS did it in 2000 as I recall and I think Citizens United might have gotten big enough to do it by this time.
Like everything the American could end this but they are too busy doing whatever their mundane lives dictate than to vote……
