All This Voter Fraud

Closing Thought–08Feb21

WE have heard so much manure spread by GOP lackeys about all the voter fraud…..and it has been going on for decades….anytime a Repub loses then it must be voter fraud…..and then they spend their time in office trying to eliminate voters that would vote Dem…..(think gerrymandering)…..

In all those years of accusations most of those arrested and convicted of voter fraud have been in the GOP……like this toad…..

A pro-Trump lawyer who vehemently defended the former president’s claims of election fraud is under investigation for possible voter fraud in Georgia. The office of Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger says it’s investigating Lin Wood, who was based in Atlanta, after he told a reporter he’d been living in South Carolina, per NBC News. “I have been domiciled in South Carolina for several months after purchasing property in the state in April,” Wood told WSB‘s Justin Gray, who was reporting on whether Wood’s law license would be revoked. (Wood claims the state bar wants him to complete a mental health exam, per the AP.) Raffensperger’s office will look into whether Wood broke the law in voting early in the November election as a Georgia resident. The title doesn’t apply to a person who “removes to another state with the intention of making it such person’s residence.”

Wood tells WSB that he only changed his residency to South Carolina on Monday. On social media site Telegram, he claims he only did this because Georgia “falsely accused me and shunned me,” per NPR. “I was domiciled in Atlanta in October of 2020 and was a resident of Georgia at that time,” he continues, per WSB, adding he did not vote in this month’s runoff elections. Wood, who filed numerous dismissed lawsuits challenging Georgia’s election results, adds the investigation “is pure harassment by the Georgia Secretary of State because I have revealed credible evidence of election fraud on the part of Brad Raffensperger.” Wood, a QAnon supporter, spread other baseless election fraud claims like this on Twitter before he was banned for encouraging violence at the US Capitol on Jan. 6.

If the GOP was truly pissed about voter fraud then they would be more heavy handed of their own that commit this damnable sin.

But they are not and totally ignore the slugs that commit voter fraud.

And some donors are falling for the scam of voter fraud…..

President Donald Trump’s post-election litigation was, in legal terms, a flop. In financial terms, however, it was an unparalleled success, generating hundreds of millions of dollars in donations. While a small percentage of that money was spent on doomed legal challenges, much of it went to pay off the campaign’s debts, straight to the Republican Party, or to finance a leadership PAC that Trump can use to fund his future ambitions. More than $2.7 million flowed from the Trump campaign to individuals and firms involved in the January 6 rally in Washington, D.C.

The former president isn’t the only one who cashed in on manufactured voter-fraud panic. Sens. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, and Josh Hawley, R-Mo., have both fundraised off the lie.

“A fool and his money are soon parted”…..

Biden And Social Security

I realize the Biden has just now started his tenure as president….but that does not mean that I will give him a free ride….there are things that we all need to know about this person and his admin.

Many elderly Americans depend on Social Security for their retirement……and without it about 38% of seniors would fall into poverty.

Will Biden make our Seniors proud in the coming years?

Along with a crippling pandemic and a struggling economy, President Biden inherited another significant challenge:  a Social Security program that needs enhancements to survive and thrive.   Former President Trump promised to “protect” Social Security, but spent four years trying to undermine and cut SSDI – the part of the program that covers workers with disabilities.   Congressional Democrats introduced legislation to strengthen and expand Social Security, but Trump officials and GOP allies on the Hill called for “entitlement reform” immediately after giving the wealthy and big corporations a $2 trillion tax cut.

Contrary to conservative propaganda, Social Security is not “going bankrupt.” But if Congress takes no action, the Social Security trust fund reserves are projected to run dry in 2035, at which time the program still will be able to pay about 80% of promised benefits (an outcome nobody wants). Economic fallout from the COVID pandemic may well drain the trust funds sooner. Fortunately, President Biden has a plan to fortify Social Security for the future while also boosting benefits. It is a commonsense plan that overlaps in important ways with legislation introduced in the last Congress by Rep. John Larson (D-Conn.).

President Biden wants to improve the formula for calculating the annual Social Security cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). This year’s COLA was a paltry 1.3%, or about $20 a month for the average beneficiary. Rising prescription drug prices and an increase in the Medicare Part B premium will eat away at that meager amount.

This is a policy that I will support if Biden will sure up the Social Security system….

But will the Congress stand in his way?

My guess is there will be massive GOP push back.

Biden On Foreign Policy

The Super Bowl is mercifully over….maybe now the people will start paying attention to the country and hopefully they will care about it as much as the care about some game.  (am I deluding myself?)

I have made my thoughts known on Biden and his foreign policy……I do not see him doing much to end the endless wars…..I see him giving the M-IC a free hand in the policies he and his admin will pursue…..

Just last week Biden made his big foreign policy speech…..

In his first diplomatic address since becoming president, Joe Biden on Thursday declared that “America is back” on the global stage, Reuters reports. “American leadership must meet this new moment of advancing authoritarianism, including the growing ambitions of China to rival the United States and the determination of Russia to damage and disrupt our democracy,” he said during a visit to the State Department with Vice President Kamala Harris. “We must meet the new moment … accelerating global challenges from the pandemic to the climate crisis to nuclear proliferation.” Biden also specifically called out Myanmar, urging military leaders there to put an end to the coup, and said the US will no longer support the Saudi Arabia-led military campaign in Yemen.

He also announced troop redeployments from Germany will be frozen, the limit on refugees allowed to enter the US will be increased, and US support for LGBTQ+ rights around the globe will be reaffirmed, CNN reports. “We are a country that does big things,” he said. “American diplomacy makes it happen and our administration is ready to take up the mantle and lead once again.” In a reference to former President Trump, Biden noted on Russia, “I made it clear to President Putin, in a manner very different from my predecessor, that the days of the United States rolling over in the face of Russia’s aggressive actions, interfering with our elections, cyberattacks, poisoning its citizens, are over.” The Atlantic Council offers key takeaways from the speech here.

I agree with the return of diplomacy and the cessation of arms deals to KSA, UAE….I do not agree with the troop things…..keep them in Afghanistan and Germany…..

Plus Biden’s fixation on Russia and ignoring the civil rights abuses of his friends in Egypt, UAE and KSA…..

Biden has a strange fixation on Russia. Vladimir Putin is a bad guy, but America’s dictator friends in Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United Arab Emirates are worse, as well as the leaders of Central Asia States with which the US is friendly. Biden included a riff about how “the politically motivated jailing of Alexis Navalny and the Russian efforts to suppress freedom of expression and peaceful assembly are a matter of deep concern to us,” yet dismissed China’s far more brutal assault on liberty with a throwaway line about “China’s attack on human rights.”

President Joe Biden Speaks on Foreign Policy: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly

Some good, some bad and some really ugly.

Keep in mind Biden’s record for all the years he has been in DC…..the ethnic cleansing, mass murder that was the Balkans…..

I will admit that he, Biden, is 100% better than the previous person sitting in the throne of power….but he is far from someone I can totally support.

My concern that he will “go in search of monsters to destroy” (John Admas quote)

In 1821, John Quincy Adams famously stated that the United States ‘does not go abroad in search of monsters to destroy. She is the well-wisher to the freedom and independence of all. She is the champion and vindicator only of her own.’ But America also has a long interventionist tradition. Even a self-proclaimed realist like Theodore Roosevelt argued that in extreme cases of abuse of human rights, intervention ‘may be justifiable and proper’. John F. Kennedy called for Americans to ask what they could do not only for their country, but for the world.

Since the Cold War’s end, the US has been involved in seven wars and military interventions, none directly related to great-power competition. George W. Bush’s 2006 national security strategy proclaimed a goal of freedom embodied in a global community of democracies.

How will Biden intervene abroad?

I do hope that I am mistaken….but his track record is not all that squeaky clean on this front.
