How Can Terrorism Be Stopped?

There has not been a media event in terrorism for some time now….so the subject has sort of gone the way of the Dodo that is until the next one and then all the bobble heads will start their usual ranting about refugees and such….that is until their sources dry up until the next attack…..and the cycle begins again….

An excellent question that has many answers……ranging from the ever popular “make the sand glow” to more realistic approaches…..some of which I shall attempt to record here in this post…..

I have been helping a professor friend with his class on national security….he needed someone to assist in the terrorism bloc of the course….he asked and I agreed…….

First from a white paper from the Center for the Research of Globalization…..

I. Stop Overthrowing the Moderates and Arming the Crazies

We know it’s a difficult concept to grasp, but if we want to stop terrorism we should – wait for it – stopsupporting terrorists.

Specifically, we’re arming the most violent radicals in the Middle East, as part of a really stupidgeopolitical strategy to overthrow leaders we don’t like (more details below). And see thisthisthisthisand this. And – strangely – we’re overthrowing the moderate Arabs who stabilized the region and deniedjihadis a foothold.

Second comes a post on the Washington Blog….

The 7 Ways to Stop Terrorism In the wake of the barbaric Paris terror attack, everyone is debating how to stop further terrorism. Some say we need more war against Islamic countries … or more…

The act will always be with us….we can only try to stop those that intend to use the act to make whatever perverted point they choose…..the defeat of terrorism is only a dream…..for it is a tactic not an entity.

  1. “…the defeat of terrorism is only a dream…..for it is a tactic not an entity.” Only too true chuq and so eloquently stated. It can’t be defeated but it can be monitored and even some events can be stopped.

However, to give in to the fear of terrorism and overreact or “make the sand glow” will only let terrorists win. ~~dru~~

  2. Concentrate it and incinerate it! That’s what is done with most garbage. If that doesn’t sound feasible then load it all on a scow and send it out into the bay somewhere like they do in big cities.

    1. That will be the biggest mistake…if you had read further you would have seen what I said about a terror diaspora…..lots of lone wolves going home….not a good thought

      1. Traffic cops can never catch the entire herd of speeders but they single one out of the pack and go for it. The snake must be cut off at the head or the entire den found and destroyed. The source … the source … we need to concentrate on the source …

      2. The source is not found…..it is all about the power and the wealth….and if there are 1000 lone wolves…that will keep the cops busy for a very long time…..

      3. and if the “Lone Wolfs” are part of a new strategy dictated by the leaders of ISIS — and I have heard reports that it is … then they are not so much lone wolves anymore as they have become strategically dispersed — one command structure — one mission — different venues from which to launch attacks — but coordinated from the same source nonetheless … Instead of a full frontal assault they are taking lessons from our earliest experiences on the battle grounds of the Revolution and are now starting to fight from behind individual trees rather in a straight line of expendible bodies. The “Lone Wolf” thing is a well-thought-out diversionary tactic and is nothing really but the full force of ISIS willingly and voluntarily splitting itself into effective fighting units of one individual rather than groups of 4 or 5 — This should be readily apparent to any strategist.

      4. If you believe that then you should be more worried about the return of fighters once ISIS is destroyed….there will be no coordination just mindless violence.

      5. ISIS is a disease, not a “Movement.” ISIS lives in the minds of every dissident who feels his call to duty strong enough to commit carnage. When “ISIS” is “Destroyed” (as you put it) then there will be ISISAGAIN or ISISSOMEMORE or some other such crap. This kind of hatred is generational. It will be spread from Father to Son and from Mother to Daughter. In order to get rid of it altogether the entire ideology has to be contained much the same as at the end of the last period of so-called “Crusades.” Sooner or later the World will recognize this and will come together to act on it for the sake of survival of what we know as “Civilization.”

      6. Civilization has nothing to do with it….the forces that be are more concerned with individual wants….civilization is what got us to this point…..so to speak

      7. Killing and dying are an essential part of Life. It has been going on since the time of Caine and Abel. The good bacteria always seek to take out the bad bacteria. That is how Life is sustained. It is an eat or be eaten thing.

      8. Every living soul who came before us also thought there could be a better future but in all the existence of the species there never has been a better future. Each generation not only repeats the mistakes of those who have gone before but they improve on them and make them more effective and worse.

      9. You can refuse all you want but it doesn’t make a difference. We are all catagorized and we are all put into a box and given both a number and a price tag and if we have any interactions at all with the system — medicare, medicaid, social security, ssi … va .. any of it, we are defined and we are treated according to that definition and there is no way to escape it and remain on the continent. Total individualism is a total fantasy.

      10. Only if I let it….I will not give in….that is the attitude of a loser….you are only as small as you think you are….

      11. Wait until it happens and then let us revisit the issue. When the government decides to do something to disadvantage the citizens the government usually wins. An example will be coming soon when America loses control of the Internet because of an agreement Obama has made to hand it over to a foreign corporation with some petty dictators on its board of directors — and the American Public awakens to the fact that the “Little Guy” can no longer access the world wide web — and then we will see who is big and who is small and who the winners and the losers are.

      12. No need…I was hounded in the 70’s and 80’s by the government (COINTELPOR) and I did not give in then and I certainly will not now…

You can still act without the internet….I did before and I can do so again….

If I ever give in then I will be a loser…and I do not see that happening before I crap out….

I can go out with a smile knowing that my principles are intact….

      13. Principles and a dollar and a half will get you a stale donut and some wet coffee grounds most places. It was not always that way but I am afraid that is where we have come to now.

      14. I have eaten stale donuts before and it it means that my principles are intact…I will eat them again.

Unlike most Americans I refuse to give in or give up….

      15. As The soon-to-be coronated queen prepares a reign such details will be taken care of for us under what will be more or less an extension of the Obamaliphate that has been under construction since 2008.

      16. That whatever you call it has been under construction since Bill Clinton…he deserves all the “atta boys”….

      17. She may be elected but she must work with a Congress that she will not control….she will have an uphill climb (I can only hope)….

      18. THat is a matter of opinion….there is so much more he could have done with cooperation…he did not get it neither will Hill

      19. EOs is kinda lame…..Reagan did 63, Clinton did 45, GW did 36 and Obama did 34…they all use this Obama is not as bad as other presidents.

      20. The worst ever and good riddance. I remember how my leg tingled when I voted for him too and then came his betrayal of my trust with his support of the job-killing TPP or what ever they called it …and I became a firm fan of Mitch McConnell and have remained so ever since.

      21. Mitch said that Obama would get NOTHING done from the beginning….is that what you vote for? And if you did not like Obama why vote for him? I didn’t.

      22. Should have read IST from the beginning…I told my readers in 2008 what was going to happen and was ignored….

      23. Not unusual. Americans tend to go insane every few years. I think they are fond of self-flagellation and need to go through buyer’s remorse every once in a while.

      24. No time….blog and research and writing takes all my time….I do not need an further aggravation…FaceBook is a con and people need to move past it…..
