The Foreign Invasion of American Politics

Much has been said this election about the amount of foreign money that appears to be streaming into our politics…..as one candidate has called it….”pay for play”…..

This is not the first time that foreign players have invested in our political process….but it is the first time it has gotten this much scrutiny…….

Foreign free riders hate Trump and love Hillary – with good reason

As one of my Twitter followers put it so succinctly: “Globalization: Where leaders from any country get to pick US Presidents.” As the Clinton campaign’s Robby Mook tears a page out of Joe McCarthy’s book and smears Donald Trump as being “Putin’s puppet,” the irony is that this election has seen foreign interference in American politics to an unprecedented degree – on Hillary’s behalf.

In the past, foreign actors tried to hide such activities, rightly thinking that they might encounter resentment – or even legal consequences – for trying to meddle in affairs that are none of their damned business. Not anymore. Now that we’re a global empire, with our leaders proclaiming the supreme importance of exercising “US leadership” and sticking our noses in every petty squabble on earth, our client states are openly interfering in our internal affairs. After all, if we can engage in “regime change” campaigns, and dictate the terms and results of Lower Slobbovia’s elections, why can’t they interfere in ours? To this end they employ legions of publicists, lobbyists, and tame congressmen to pursue their national interests, mostly at our expense: the billions in “foreign aid” we ship overseas come back to our shores in the form of exorbitant fees paid to PR firms – a rare trade deal where American firms actually come out ahead!

This is one of the reason that the US is one of the top ten most corrupt countries….

1. The rich are well placed to bribe our politicians to reduce taxes on the rich. A nonentity like Donald Trump got filthy rich via tax loopholes, and is now trying to buy the presidency. The way the Supreme Court got rid of campaign finance reform and allowed open, unlimited buying of elections is the height of corruption. Note that despite his supposed “populism,” Trump never talks about the unfairness of our current tax system, instead dividing and ruling working and middle class Americans by stirring racial and religious hatreds. As it stands, 400 American billionaires are worth $2 trillion, as much as the bottom 150 million Americans. That kind of wealth inequality hasn’t been seen in the US since the age of the robber barons in the nineteenth century. Both eras are marked by extreme corruption.

      1. The problem is the media is not talking about anything important. I had to watch 15 minutes of the weather forecast trying to make a tropical storm sound scary when I have been outside in hurricanes before in the hot tub with my German family betting on when a leaf was going to fall off a coconut tree?

    These days people are changing sides so rapidly it is hard to keep up…what makes me laugh most of all is that they call it a democracy…yeah right….
    Hahaha,,rather join the foreign legion…
    Long live The Revolution …that is if the populace can stop watching the T.V. and wondering wot Barby celeb is in bed with wot Barby Ken..
    Still,keep the masses addicted and carry on….per usual…..on both sides of the pond…nothing like a compliant populace….1984 here we come..George Orwell was right…..that is if anyone still reads!

      ps Penn: A “sister” in my depression group…fighting not acquiring…wants me to start being her pen pal and gave me note paper and a pencils; I don’t think I can even print a note, let alone write cursive, I begged her to read my blog instead but she wants something in the mail box so I guess I’m going to try writing for specific people, instead of just myself, again…..sigh…me

I am not feeling too ‘goodly’ at the moment…ggrrrrr I am sick of hearing about women whinging about their ‘right to wear’ what they want in the name of their screwy gods! They should be whinging about the gender pay gap instead…but oh, no they would rather be ‘STUPID’ ….irate from the suburbs across the pond.Bah Humbug!

    3. AAAaahhhhhh! I’ve been really sick too and that link made me sicker. I’m almost eligible for Medicare…<60 days but to change over from my Obama care will take me at least 90 days so another month of "no ins". Since I've been mandated to get health care..two years ago; I've only had 9 months total coverage and 6 months actually covered in a row. I've had 4 different primary care providers; 6 different psychologists, all my specialists were 25 to 50 miles away and I owe over $2k in my costs.

  4. While your premise has merit, there is the rest of the story… I believe that if I were a foreign entity, the thought of DT being president is untenable. I’d donate money big time. While I was overseas, I was genuinely surprised how peoples from all over the world were closely following this election and voiced serious concerns if DT should become US president. These were not world leaders, just tourists from faraway places visiting Italy. They do not suffer the fear of HRC like many do in the U.S.
