Bubba’s Toxic Economic Legacy

Yesterday I went on a bit of a rant when I heard the Hillary if president wants to use Bubba to revitalize the economy……after hearing that I felt as if my head would explode……Bubba?  Please not him again.

But after my rant I thought that maybe I should post something about his “record” of accomplishments as an economic guru…..

Hillary Clinton recently stated that her husband would be a key player on economic policy. That’s not good news.

Over the past several months, Hillary Clinton has been somewhat hesitant to bring up her husband’s legacy as president, which, for many progressives, is a vexing reminder of how the Democratic Party embraced neoliberal policies towards the end of the 20th century, under the leadership of the the triangulating Bill Clinton. Faced with the insurgent campaign of Sen. Bernie Sanders, Clinton has tried to hype her progressive bona fides, which has meant avoiding some of Bill’s more despicable policies — from the 1994 crime bill and expansion of the war on drugs, to welfare reform and the Defense of Marriage Act. Almost two decades removed from the Clinton administration, there is a lot to find distasteful, and Hillary clearly wants to avoid discussing the worst of her husband’s presidency (which, like or not, she played a major role in).

If she is elected (I pray for our souls) she and her hubby will be just a repeat of the Bubba years…..only people that will benefit are their wealthy friends….both foreign and domestic…..

This country deserves better than the Clintons!

  1. Explain… please…as to why some people say that NAFTA was good for the Mexican people…..giving them a chance to basically earn a living….and bring them out of poverty.

    1. Only people that support Clinton would say that…it devastated the farming industry and the out of work people came North….I have a graph if you need it.

      1. No,you gave me the answer…’only people that support Clinton would say that’ …this one does….it was just another contradiction that I could not figure…thanx

    2. “Good for the Mexican people” is a bit of a relative term. Think of it this way. Even deep fried shit tastes better than straight up shit. So yeah, things are looking up, I guess. But most people who say this are just polishing the Free Trade Turd.

But that isn’t the right way of thinking about it. This isn’t a zero-sum game where American workers lose something and Mexican workers get it. A Mexican might get Job X, but because that Mexican got Job X, it’s now worth a hell of a lot less, even if it’s worth more than what that Mexican had. The American worker lost more than what the Mexican worker gained. And the difference between the 2 workers goes into the pocket of the 1-ers% responsible for moving the jobs.

Overall, workers lose & capitalists win in this global job limbo.

      1. Thanx…. It was just very odd that this person supports workers rights and BDS/Palestine and supported NAFTA and also TTIP(which we have been fighting very hard over here) I checked up NAFTA and challenged him over it….he did not answer..as chuq said he must be a Clinton fan….his contradictions did not make any sense to me and still don’t….other than the fact he is a die hard HillBilly fan…he pays into her fund every month…it is always the ‘mind’ of the ‘human’ that fascinates me..when all is said and done…he suffers from having ‘idols’ and turns a blind eye to their faults… it was his ‘denial’ in the face of the evidence that I presented him that interested me…the defence mechanism if you like…The big vote here on the 23rd of June is an in or out vote..( the fear propaganda is in full swing)…I am voting out because of the lack of democracy within the E.U..(even though workers rights are held up).it is a big issue here…and Obama coming over and sticking his nose into our affairs did not go down well at all..the kleptocracy is alive and well….we fight it all the way….as you say, overall, workers lose and capitalist win in this global job limbo!..we have the same problem here with steel/China and workers being laid off…….and in my opinion things are about to get a lot worse. We shall see…..once again, thanks for your input…it helped to further understand where he is coming from…….where emotions rule over logic….
        🙂

  2. During the “reign” of Bill, I hadn’t paid much attention to politics. New husband, travel, new life, etc., was my focus. The only thing that caught my attention was Bill’s “philandering” with Lewinsky. It was all over the TV reports I watched in Europe at the time. Very embarrassing to me personally, as an American, and also for my country, to say the least. Thanks so much for awakening my mind to our current problems and those laws and agreements that have been passed during Obama’s “reign.” While discussing the news reports with husband, it became evident that all these trade policies were the worst for our workers, and best for only the top 1%-ers and the countries that were part of the agreements. Hillary would be a tragedy, and Bill would be a double one. We all have a lot to worry about as to the choices that are put before us at this time.

    1. But America is apathetic and America has a short attention span and Bubba Politics from the Hootin’ Hollers of the country could just cause another Clingon Era to dawn. Wall Street would be estatic.
