I was not going to watch the sideshow of the day…GOP debate……but it seems that I may have missed something……the buzz is Carly went ballistic on Trump…..and I had to see it for myself……
DAMN, girl! She is a fighter!
The Carly Fiorina-Donald Trump showdown was billed as the moment to watch during last night’s long and crowded GOP debate, and she’s emerging as the biggest winner of both the exchange and the night—and is being talked about almost as much as Trump. Here’s what the pundits are saying:
- Fiorina “commanded voters’ attention early on by responding sternly, and unflinchingly, to Donald Trump’s attacks on her appearance,” writes Gabriel Debenedetti at Politico. “Women all over the country heard very clearly what Mr. Trump said,” she said, and Trump ended up walking his comments back, saying Fiorina “has a beautiful face and is a beautiful woman.” Fiorina also impressed with her moving remarks on Planned Parenthood and on losing her stepdaughter to drug addiction.
- It was “Carly’s night,” agrees Rich Lowry at the National Review, describing her handling of Trump as “pitch perfect, understated, but pointed” and predicting that she will continue her rise in the polls.
Carly may be the answer to the Trump invasion into GOP politics…..she apparently is not afraid of his abusive manor……she will not be bullied…..I like that…..maybe the men in this thing should take a lead from Carly and man up and take it to Trump….there is a wealth of stuff they could hit him on….but fear has them sidelined.

A final closing thought……the presumptive front runner a couple months ago was Jeb Bush……he wimped out so bad…to the point of apologizing to his mother for smoking dope…..
His performance was lackluster at best……if he eventually makes the nomination……the GOP will be in trouble….a man eater like Clinton will devour his pussy ass!
Maybe GW was the better of the two brothers…..Jeb needs to grow a pair if he is to win this thing……
I am NOT a Carly fan….but she has shown that she is tough and willing to take on the elephant in the room…..I respect that!
One thing I dislike about her is that she is against minimum wage hike. There are many legitimate reasons that such would cause a negative ripple effect in certain dimensions of an economy but I’d like to see these politicians live on $250 a week.
I agree…..I will not be supporting her but she is the only one that can look presidential at this time…..we have tax free weekends….why not make Congress go with a pay free month…after all they seldom work a month anyway.

My point exactly! And think of all the media time filled by, not just the event, but the pre & post-game hype dedicated to it. That’s airtime that could have been better used by pointing a camera at a fish tank.. And, yes, that is actually a TV channel up here in Canuckistan. So, I had that choice. (Ironically, I chose to watch HBO’s “The Leftovers” instead.)
Curiously, Canuckistan is having our 2nd (and last?) 2015 Election Debate tonight. I shall watch that tonight, as it actually matters. That’s because the election will be over in about a month. (Rather than 1.5 years from now…providing you don’t have another Florida 2000) Right now, the polls say it’s a 3 way tie. Gotta love those 3 ways!

I’d have much rather watched the orange fish on The Aquarium Channel. At least he doesn’t make me feel like committing suicide in order to beat The End Times.
The Canadian debate aired ONLY on CPAC (Canada’s version of CSPAN). It didn’t allow the Green Party. It was a horrible format that allowed way too much of everyone yelling at the same time and there was far too much repetition of Talking Points.

Yeah……our debates are just a long rambling list of slogans and applause lines….no such thing as a real debate…I would prefer intra-party debates…..2 from GOP and 2 from Dems…..then maybe the possibility for actual issues and solutions…..but that is pushing it….
I agree with you, she probably has a bigger set of balls than almost any of the men up there. I’m no fan of Fiorina’s, but any time someone can shut up “The Donald” for even a minute, that person deserves at least a little respect.

Let’s be clear … nothing Carly did last night demonstrated anything more than that she is capable of delivering rehearsed, scripted lines. Her response to Trump’s criticism of her looks … scripted. She knew she was going to be asked that question and knew how she was going to answer it. Same too with many of her other statements … so scripted, it’s ridiculous. She clearly believes the way to compete is to out “macho” the men on the stage and that scares me. There’s also plenty out there today about some fundamentally dishonest whoppers she told.
The idea that people walk away from last night’s debate impressed by her shows just how shallow and clueless people actually are.
Yes, I know. Most of the candidates are scripted and just repeating pieces of their stump speech or applause lines. But, to me, she seemed to be one of the worst at it last night.
Of all the people on that stage on that night….she was more impressive than any other….as a typical GOP candidate most of her answers were lies or misinformation, to be polite….as a possible prez…she would be a disaster…..she should come up in the polls and that is what she was aiming for….not the truth.
She handled Trump well, other than that the usual nutter over foreign policy…
