Just had to take a break from all this relaxation and bring you some breaking news…..
Back in 2011 the leader of the pack for the GOP was Rick Perry….he was a very qualified candidate….at least on paper and before his official announcement…..and then he made it official and the wheels came off his bus….so to speak….on the campaign trail he looked goofy and his debates were uninteresting and after all this he decided to back out and go back to being governor of Texas……
Fast forward to 2015…..enter Rick Perry one more time…..this time he was not the front runner at any time…….and last weekend he did what he does best…..drop out of the race……
Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry is dropping out of the race for president, ending his second bid for the Republican nomination and becoming the first major candidate of the 2016 campaign to give up on the White House. His struggling campaign has been strapped for campaign cash and stuck polling at near zero. Perry’s campaign said the longest-serving governor in Texas history would tell a group of conservative activists in St. Louis tonight that “some things have become clear.”
“We have a tremendous field, the best in a generation, so I step aside knowing our party is in good hands, and as long as we listen to the grassroots, the cause of conservativism will be too,” Perry planned to say according to remarks released by his campaign. Earlier, two people familiar with his plans told the AP that Perry would be dropping out of the race.
Say good-bye to one less clown in the car…..
Who of the bottom tire candidates will be next? Jindal? Graham? Pitaki?
Q: Was Rick Perry even entered in 2016?
A: Nope. His candidacy barely made it 3/4 of the way through 2015!
So Perry is yet another complete irrelevancy who occupied airtime in this 2016 horse race. Never mind getting into the Starting Gate, this nag didn’t even make it out of the Walking Ring! And Perry certainly won’t be the last! My (uniformed) hunch is that Iowa voters may only have 5-6 clowns to choose from when it actually matters. Whoever they turn out to be…because I don’t give a shit until 2016! 🙂
What kind of imbecile runs for President again after humiliating himself the last time? Idiot should have run for Congress first. But when you have to starting running for President 2 years after your last attempt, you just don’t get to re-hab your reputation by winning another office and building upon your record. Look at Hillary Clinton. She left her job after Obama’s re-election. “I ain’t got no time for the 5th highest ranking office in the land. I’m running for President in 4 years!”
This Perry thing just proves my point. Think of all the time, effort, money and MEDIA given to this one clown’s non-candidacy. And to what end? All of it went straight into the toilet. Now get ready to call the plumber once Trump leaves!
Perry was only a candidate in his own mind and the media helped….he was unassuming and a clown….just what the GOP is looking for….
Yes, he was always a joke. But he was a joke that, unfortunately, had to be taken seriously in 2012 (Gov. of major state). And the guy’s policies were in-line with Republicans. But because he made that very humiliating mistake in one of the 87 televised debates of the 2011-2 marathon, the pack of wolves pounced and it was all over. (See: Howard Dean’s “Yeeeeaaaahh!!!!”)
This naive knucklehead thought that, in an age of constant media surveillance & millions of Internet vultures who live to rip the flesh off of people’s bones…he actually thought he could just get back up, dust himself off & start all over again. He actually thought he still lived in an era where every mistake wasn’t fatal.
Sorry, Mr Perry. That now only happens to preachers who bone hookers & steal money, or athletes who rape women & kill people in drunk driving incidents. That doesn’t apply to people who just look weak for a couple of minutes. There is no apologizing for looking weak. There’s no fix for that. Perry would have been better off if he walked over and punched Michele Bachmann in the face. Seriously.
It’s not about stupid. It’s about weakness. Sarah Palin is much stupider than Perry is, but she OWNS it. She wears it as a badge. It’s not her weakness. It’s her strength. That’s why this abysmal failure is still around. Unlike Perry, she has no sense of shame.
But as you say, the political entertainment machine wanted him back for 2016. Why? Purely for the entertainment value. He still had a loyal audience and a high TVQ. But Perry was never anything more than part of the warm-up act, a (short term) attention grabber. He was only meant to fill airtime, to keep this circus going. And with Trump around, who needs Perry to juggle government departments over his head?
It’s all about keeping that circus going. It pays the bills and keeps them from having to work for a living.
He was a typical governor….plays well at home but does not play well in the big sandbox….
Buh bye clown. Let me know if you need help packing your suitcase.
Now just a few more and we will rid all the garbage….
I read somewhere that Perry is facing (or was facing) some pretty hairy legal entanglements …. If he had been elected President and then … OMG, I can’t bear to think what might have happened!
Yep…some pretty serious stuff…he would have been the first under indictment….
Haven’t you seen the new PR campaign for TX tourism? “It’s like a whole other country”. Perry is just stepping aside to become King of Texas! dru
I have been to Texas….will not say it sucks….there are some great parts….hill country is nice…but that is not the whole state….
