I watch MSNBC in the early morning especially the Morning Joe Show….I appreciate Scarborough, a conserv, because he will take on any and all about things in the news….while deep down he is still a Repub he is NOT one of those extreme ideologues we deal with in Washington these days….

OK. You know as well as I do that I personally agree that SOCIALISM is the opposite of freedom – that’s the European centralist stupid megalomaniacal sort of socialism that Gingrich talks about.
However, IF Gingrich knew ANYTHING about European socialsm (which he clearly does NOT) then he’d know that what Obama does and tries to engineer is NOT socialism – not of ANY sort. The man has SOME socialist leanings perhaps – MAYBE he’d even LIKE to be a socialist, but he isn’t and he knows full well that there’s no way that would play with the majority of voters in the US, so he ain’t exactly likely to try, is he?
Gingrich is just a mouthy prat with little or no knowledge of what he’s talking about.
I DO agree with what the Republicans say about BIG government – it’s just such a shame that they seem TOTALLY unable to take their own f*cking advice!
Gingrich is like most of the Neocons….no idea what they are talking about….either politically or economically….these twats are using the socialism thing to play with the elderly that remember all the hype from the Cold War….those types vote more regularly than the others…….
I’m sure… I must admit that I do sometimes despair. Europe has largely moved to the left and all sorts of sh*t goes down in the name of “the people” and it’s a) bullshit and b) NOT done for the people at all anyway, but in order to keep ordinary citizens under control. All the things the Gingriches of this world complain about are pretty much TRUE (in Europe) – huge and vastly bureaucratic central governments that want to micro-manage everyone’s lives, are ENORMOUSLY expensive and FAIL abysmally to achieve almost anything they claim as a raison d’etre. It’s truly awful in so many ways and has largely been responsible for the mess that Greece, Portugal, Eire and Spain (to name but a few) are in.
Yet the civilised alternative seems to be the US and the American way, which is almost completely owned by large corporations and a wealthy few – as are all your politicians too. On top of which, of course, they use the rabid right to provide their power base and THEY, lagely because of their extreme religious tendencies and their individual and group megalomania want to do exactly the same – micro-manage people’s lives.
All this and yet the REAL danger is, as you and I have mentioned on many occasions, the global banking fraternity, or rather those relatively few shadowy figures who control it, and the way in which they cynically manipulate ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to THEIR advantage. The only way to stop that is to reject the “live now, pay later” way of life and return to a responsible economic model on a personal level, so that’s not very likely to happen either, is it?
Where WILL it all end? I sometimes ask, but I never wait around for the answer, because I really don’t want to hear what a crap future is in store for most of humanity…
We are headed in that direction ….a corporate state……and the answers would be extremely depressing…..
