The Confusion Over Masks

Should we wear masks? Or Not? Can masks help cause the virus?  Are they safe?

Questions….questions…..so many and so many opinions that are not really answers.

But the one statement about masks that some want to push on the population…..”forced to wear a mask is a violation of my rights”

Just how much “rights” does state laws violate?

Several hundred people assembled in London’s Hyde Park in July 2020 to protest rules making face masks mandatory in shops and supermarkets to help control the spread of COVID-19. This was not an isolated event. Similar protests have occurred in many places around the world in reaction to the prospect of “mask mandates” – especially in the United States.

These protesters are not without allies. “Anti-maskers” have elicited support from prominent figures on the political right in the UK and America: Peter Hitchens of the Daily Mail has called them “muzzles”; Michael Savage, a prominent talk radio host, called masks a “mark of submission”; to say nothing of President Donald Trump’s refusal to wear a face mask in public and his dismissal of them as “politically correct” (until his abysmal approval ratings compelled him to awkwardly soften his position).

Why do mask mandates elicit such anger?

Setting aside the conspiracy theories and disinformation that seem to prevade these protests, the participants are joined by a fierce attachment to individual liberty. They believe mask mandates sacrifice individual liberty to a collectivist notion a “greater good”.

I believe that these toads that refuse to wear masks and even commit violence to make their point are violating my rights….they could be making me ill…..

Just like freedom of speech does not give an idiot the right to scream “FIRE!” in a crowded theater that cause a panic and injures or kills others.

If these people do not want to wear a protective mask then they should stay home and do the “business” over the phone or laptop.

None of the people that think their freedoms are being violated are nothing put idiots pretending to be concerned about others….they are selfish dolts that spread disinformation.

Another Covid Fear

WE citizens worry about a lot during this pandemic….like will my family be safe and well…..or will the food supplies be stable….and one of the most important fears….the lack of toilet paper…..there is a lot to worry about.

But it appears that a high percentage of American citizens are truly worried about losing their freedoms because of this pandemic….and a president they cannot trust….

More than 7 in 10 voters fear losing freedoms due to the coronavirus pandemic, though exposure to the virus topped concerns overall, according to a Hill-HarrisX poll released Monday.

Eighty-three percent of registered voters in the April 6-7 survey said they are worried about being exposed to the coronavirus, while 74 percent said they are concerned about losing freedoms.

Seventy-three percent said they fear having to go to the hospital and 48 percent of voters said they are concerned about losing their job.

Thirty-five percent said they are concerned about having to re-locate due to pandemic.

And Donald the Orange makes his response sound epic and the stuff for Homer to record….when in reality he is a fart in a hurricane…..this person is as worthless as tits on a boar.

And yet the babbling morons, who illustrate the old saying “can’t fix stupid” is a profound statement……will continue to do all they can to make us less safe during this pandemic.

Instead of listening to a moron who plays a president on TV…the nation, the entire nation should be listening to the pros on this pandemic…..

Dr. Anthony Fauci had a word of caution Monday for protesters around the US pushing to reopen states as quickly as possible. That word was “backfire.” In an appearance on Good Morning America, Fauci acknowledged that the coronavirus was doing real damage to the economy. “But unless we get the virus under control, the real recovery economically is not going to happen,” he said, reports the Hill. Fauci reiterated that states should follow guidelines laid out by the White House for phased reopenings, based on testing data. “So what you do if you jump the gun and go into a situation where you have a big spike, you’re going to set yourself back,” he said. “It’s going to backfire. That’s the problem.”

Instead this gutless person blames everybody but the person at the center of fault….himself……

The “Radical Left” and “Do Nothing Democrats” first “screamed” about ventilators,” he wrote. “Now they scream ….’Testing, Testing, Testing,’ again playing a very dangerous political game.”

The War Against Alternative Information

I recently wrote a piece about the establishment of the US “Ministry of Truth”…..something that the government wants to add to an existing bill so they can decide what is “truth” and what is “fake”…..

Does anyone recall the “Ministry of Enlightenment and Propaganda”?

Do not hurt yourself diving for Google…..it is the title that Hitler bestowed on Joseph Geobbels…..there was a governmental agency that had a lock on the “Truth”….why do I bring this up?

Since I wrote that op-ed back in the closing days of 2016….others have started commenting on this new “Ministry of Truth”……

The U.S. establishment is not content simply to have domination over the media narratives on critical foreign policy issues, such as Syria, Ukraine and Russia. It wants total domination. Thus we now have the “Countering Foreign Propaganda and Disinformation Act” that President Obama signed into law on Dec. 23 as part of the National Defense Authorization Act for 2017, setting aside $160 million to combat any “propaganda” that challenges Official Washington’s version of reality.

The new law mandates the U.S. Secretary of State to collaborate with the Secretary of Defense, Director of National Intelligence and other federal agencies to create a Global Engagement Center “to lead, synchronize, and coordinate efforts of the Federal Government to recognize, understand, expose, and counter foreign state and non-state propaganda and disinformation efforts aimed at undermining United States national security interests.” The law directs the Center to be formed in 180 days and to share expertise among agencies and to “coordinate with allied nations.”

America: Time For A Change?

With the approach of the 2016 US election….one might assume that this post is about the possibility of a political change in government…..that is just silly if that is what one is thinking…….. you are mistaken.

As I watched a town hall meeting that Trump had in New Hampshire I got to thinking about what was happening in this country….he decided to have a Q & A session with his supporters to explain some of his ideas….a good idea if that was what had happened……

Donald Trump, apparently forgetting about the time he pressured the president of the United States into producing his birth certificate, failed to correct a man at a town hall event last night who claimed President Obama is a Muslim—and not an American. The questioner at the Rochester, NH, event described Muslims as a “problem” and went on to say, “Our current president is one. We know he’s not even an American. We have training camps growing where they want to kill us. That’s my question: When can we get rid of them?” Trump responded: “A lot of people are saying that and a lot of people are saying that bad things are happening out there. We’re going to be looking at that and a lot of different things,” Politico reports.

When another man stood and said he wanted to “applaud the gentleman who stood and said Obama is a Muslim born abroad and about the military camps,” Trump said, “Right” before moving on, the Hill reports. Hillary Clinton calls Trump’s failure to denounce the remarks “disturbing,” while DNC Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz calls the candidate’s behavior “horrendous” but “unsurprising,” saying “Trump’s racism knows no bounds,” CNN reports. Trump’s campaign manager tells CNN that Trump didn’t hear the remark about Obama being Muslim, and that the real issue is the president’s “war on Christianity.” (A recent poll found that 43% of Republicans still think Obama is a Muslim, which rises to 66% among Trump supporters.

It had not crossed my mind that he may still be one of those “birthers”……I know….silly me.

His lack of a response lead me to start thinking about maybe it is time for a change…..was this person an example of the average Trump supporter?

After all I have read by people writing on Trump….my conclusion would be….yes it is the average.

With that said here is my ideas for an American change……since immigrants will bring down the country because of their demands for the “good life” then why not take down the Statue of Liberty……a bit too extreme for the patriots?   Probably is too extreme I mean we do have and need our symbols………Then at least remove the plaque from the statue…..(not sure of what I am referring)…….let me help the mental process for you…..

The famous plaque attached to the Statue of Liberty is a sonnet…….

New Colossus

Not like the brazen giant of Greek fame,

That one line is probably the only part that most Americans will know…….”Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,…….”

Remove that plaque and replace it with a sign that reads….”Closed ‘Til Further Notice”….or maybe “Go Away”…….or maybe “Filled To Capacity”……something along that line…….

A bit extreme?  Not really.  This is the perfect cover for the hatred of immigrants/refugees……….since some Americans do not want the country to be all inclusive….it is the perfect solution……the Statue is a symbol of liberty and freedom….take away the temptation for others to want such rights.

You may scoff at this post….but take a look around and listen to the people you encounter……..it is sad…..it is scary…..it is shameful!  At least I am willing to go beyond the echo chamber and do some original thinking….can you?

Home Of The Free

We Americans take great pride in the title….home of the free…….we go so far as to try and rebuild other countries in our image……not always a successful attempt….but we can be proud of the freedoms we have and others jealously desire…..

But you know that may not be exactly the truth……

Americans are feeling a lot less like the land of the free than they were eight years ago—possibly because they believe the government is corrupt, a new Gallup poll finds. Asked in 2013 if they were satisfied with their level of personal freedom, 79% said they were, down from 91% in 2006, while 21% said they were dissatisfied. That put the US just 36th among all countries. (If you’re curious, New Zealand, at 94%, was No.1, followed by Australia, Sweden, and of all places Cambodia, which were tied at 93%.)

Only 10 other countries have seen a larger decline than the US, and many of those, like Egypt and Greece, have undergone major political or economic crises. One explanation for the drop: The growing belief that the government is corrupt. The number of people saying corruption was widespread has risen steadily from 59% in 2006 to 79% in 2013.

Cambodia….the home of Pol Pot and Khmer rouge….they feel more free than we do?

Does this not scare the living crap out of you?  We Americans feel like the corruption in government is growing and growing out of control….that also should worry you.

We are so proud of our ‘freedoms’ especially the freedom of press….maybe we should pay closer attention to what is happening or that ‘freedom’ could be lost…..
