Talking Trash!

For a whole year now our leaders have been talking trash…..by trash I mean lies on top of lies…..these twats cannot help themselves they just cannot stop once they started lying and when confronted with their lies they claim “fake news”……

Some of their biggest trash talking is on the field of international relations…..first it was the VP when talking about Afghanistan……

Having made a surprise visit to Afghanistan on Thursday to meet with Afghan leaders and US troops, Vice President Mike Pence is talking up “progress” in the 16+ year Afghan War, crediting the new strategy.

Back in August, President Trump set out a “new” strategy, which was just a general escalation of the conflict, with an unspecified number of additional ground troops deployed, and a substantial increase in US airstrikes.

Pence said the situation is “promising” now, saying that the Taliban have been put “on the defensive,” though of course the Taliban have been in defensive situations several times during the protracted war.

US officials have many times during the course of the war claimed progress against the Taliban, but the Trump Administration’s ever-increasing secrecy about the strategy, troop levels, and day-to-day operations, it is very difficult to gauge by what measure they think things are improving at all, with Taliban territorial holdings still near their highest level since the 2001 invasion.

(antiwar.com

Great progress?  The opium crop is biggest ever….ISIS is making in-roads in the north of the country…..Taleban is in control of numerous provinces in the South…yeah “great progress”

Then there is Fearless Fosdick of a president……

One day after a massive Thursday loss at the UN General Assembly on the Jerusalem issue, President Trump complained on Twitter that the US “foolishly spent $7 trillion in the Middle East,” suggesting the focus needed to shift to US infrastructure.

This comment was perceived by some reporters as being about Trump’s threat to withdraw foreign aid from countries that voted against him at the UN, as well as lamenting how little influence the US had actually bought.

Of course, the $7 trillion is mostly not foreign aid, but military spending, and as President Trump is always eager to remind people, he is particularly supportive of massive military increases, and has continued and escalated overseas operations, largely in the Middle East, since taking office.

Really?  And yet he has expanded the scope of the US involvement in the region….

I agree with him that the US foolishly wasted these funds in a war that cannot be won….but he was just spouting trash and does not mean a word of what he has said……

These people are doing what they do best….fill the people with propaganda and then blame everyone else when it all goes wrong.

These guys are NO longer amusing….now they are just pathetic liars.

Closing Thought–21Dec17

We hear a lot these days about the impeachment of Trump….there are people calling for this all over social media and even some media outlets.  But here is something to think about…..

If Trump leaves office we will get the next person in line for ascension, VP Mike Pence, a theocrat…….

I’m a Christian, a conservative, and a Republican, in that order.” – Mike Pence, Speech to Republican National Convention, 2017

When (and if) Donald J. Trump leaves office – via impeachment, criminal indictment and conviction, resignation, or the 25th amendment – Mike Pence, his Vice President will become President. Mike Pence does not have a secret agenda – he is all out there: “My Christian faith is at the very heart of who I am,” he said during one of the vice presidential debates. And he means that. Welcome to Christian Theocracy.

https://www.rawstory.com/2017/12/what-awaits-us-if-mike-pence-replaces-donald-trump/

But what if he is implicated when the investigations are complete and also resigns…that would leave Speaker Ryan next inline…a proven coward…..

Personally, I would rather Ryan than Pence…..Pence is a theocrat and will rein from under a Bible…..something that our founders did not want.

Just a little something to think about during this joyous season.

Until the morrow my friends….chuq

Closing Thought–08Dec17

What’s The Presidency Worth?

Did you know that there was a offer to buy out Trump in 2016 and let Pence have have the presidency?  The price was $800 million.

One of the big political talkers of the day comes courtesy of the Atlantic, which is out with a lengthy piece on the vice president under the provocative headline of “God’s Plan for Mike Pence.” Among the interesting nuggets is that Pence considered what amounts to a “coup” against Donald Trump in the aftermath of the Access Hollywoodtape scandal, writes McKay Coppins. Immediately after the scandal broke, Pence let the Republican National Committee know that he was ready to replace Trump as the GOP nominee, even though it was just four weeks from Election Day. Soon, GOP insiders began buzzing about the possibility of a ticket with Condoleezza Rice as Pence’s vice president, writes Coppins.

At the same time, a group of billionaires started asking around about the possibility of a political buyout of sorts—how much would it take to get Trump to walk away? One source tells Coppins they were given a price of $800 million, though it’s unclear whether an offer was ever made or whether Trump himself was aware of any of this. In any event, the scandal faded and Pence soon found himself as vice-president-elect. Coppins writes that this near-coup was not a matter of “political opportunism” for Pence, a devout Christian who was “genuinely shocked” at Trump’s comments in the recording. It’s been previously reported that Pence considered leaving the ticket at that point, but the Atlantic story makes the case that he went much further than that. Read it in full here.

I love this….American presidency could have price tag…..pay it and rid the country of a worthless lump of manure as president.

How It Might Happen

Impeachment!

The word is getting lots of play these days…..and usually with a reference or two to Watergate…..lots of analysis and speculation is flying around the media outlets…..so if this happens how will it happen?

Around midday on Monday, Congressman Al Green, a Democrat from Texas, held a press conference to call for the impeachment of Donald Trump. The firing of FBI director James Comey, Green said, was an obstruction of justice falling clearly into that basket of “high crimes and misdemeanors” prescribed in the Constitution as grounds for impeachment.

Green should have waited a day. Because by the time the sun went down on Tuesday, advocates for Trump’s impeachment had a lot more to work with.

Source: What Would Happen If Donald Trump Were Impeached? | Alternet

If this impeachment thing were to be successful then we would have a Pres. Pence……another bad idea….we would be trading an autocrat for a theocrat….but that aside….what would a Pence presidency look like?

When President Trump was elected, a lot of liberals confidently predicted that he wouldn’t last six months. Being sensible and sober, I thought that was nothing more than wishful thinking. But now? It doesn’t seem so implausible.

Even with the Department of Justice’s appointment Wednesday of a special prosecutor, Trump’s early departure — by impeachment, resignation, or the invocation of the 25th Amendment — is a not sure thing, or even a likelihood. I suspect we’re still a few major revelations away from that happening, even if cracks in his Republican support are beginning to appear. The most probable outcome is that this mad circus continues at least until 2020. But as long as we’re contemplating that most remarkable of eventualities, it’s worth considering: What would a Mike Pence presidency be like?

Source: What will the Pence presidency be like?

Pence is an ambitious politician and if were Trump I would keep my eyes on this person constantly……he is a weasel and is just waiting for a good time to strike…

For the first time that I can recall a vice president has started a PAC while in office…..a good place to gather resources if a fight is coming……

Borrowing from his boss’s now-famous slogan, Vice President Mike Pence has launched the “Great America Committee” PAC in advance of the 2018 and 2020 elections, NBC News reports. Pence will use money raised through the PAC to travel the country on Air Force Two and help stump for GOP contenders. The Federal Election Commission received paperwork on Wednesday for the PAC, which a source close to Pence indicates will offer resources “to actually support candidates who are supportive of the president’s agenda.” Under such a leadership PAC, individual donors and other federal PACs can contribute up to $5,000 per year, Bloomberg notes.

Pence aides Nick Ayers and Marty Obst will manage the PAC, with Ayers saying planning for it began back in December. NBC notes it’s the first time a sitting VP has created his own separate arm like this; past officials have typically used campaign or party funds. In fact, a couple of past VPs—Bloomberg points to Joe Biden and Dick Cheney—didn’t have an active leadership PAC at all while in office. “Launching a leadership PAC sometimes signals an intent to run for higher office,” the director for the Center for Responsive Politics tells Bloomberg. But the NBC source insists that’s not the case here: “Don’t read into 2020 as anything other than [Pence] running for re-election as vice president in 2020 and supporting other candidates.”

They can claim whatever they want….that this is to help him in 2020…that is if Trump decides not to continue for whatever reason……

Keep your eyes on Pence….for he is up to something and it is not to help Trump in any way.

Only With My Wife

It is no hiding the fact that I think there is too idle bullshit in the news…..why do I need to know the Janet Jackson will have a baby or how many times Kanye is a dick or even whatever Beyonce is doing…I DO NOT CARE!

Toward the end of last week a story surfaced about our second in command, Mike Pence and his wife…..

The marriage of Mike and Karen Pence came under the media spotlight this week thanks mostly to one line in a Washington Post profile of Karen: “In 2002, Mike Pence told the Hill that he never eats alone with a woman other than his wife and that he won’t attend events featuring alcohol without her by his side, either.” That has triggered scorn and ridicule from the vice president’s critics, while his defenders accuse those same critics of hypocrisy. Here’s a look:

  • The Post story by Ashley Parker describes how Karen, 60, is her husband’s constant companion and his “gut check and shield.” Among its tidbits: “During their time in the Indiana governor’s mansion, the Pences installed twin treadmills upstairs in their residence.” Read it in full here.
  • The 2002 article from the Hill doesn’t appear to be online, but this tweet has the opening paragraphs, including a Pence quote: “If there’s alcohol being served and people are being loose, I want to have the best-looking brunette in the room standing next to me.” He said it’s about “building a zone around your marriage” and avoiding even the appearance of impropriety.
  • The idea of a man not dining alone with another woman is often known as the “Billy Graham rule” among evangelicals, explains the Indianapolis Star.
  • One common line of criticism: “As someone who grew up Evangelical, wouldn’t say it’s standard exactly. But indicative of notion that women are primarily sexual temptresses,” tweeted writer Elizabeth Spiers.
  • Another: “If Pence won’t eat dinner alone with any woman but his wife, that means he won’t hire women in key spots,” wrote Clara Jeffery of Mother Jones.
  • Stephen Colbert couldn’t resist. See the video and skip to 4:20.
  • But Rod Dreher at the American Conservative sees hypocrisy in the negative reaction. “Were the Pences Orthodox Jews or practicing Muslims, nobody would have batted an eye. But they’re Evangelical Christians, so that means it’s open season on tearing them apart.”
  • At the Atlantic, Emma Green writes that the arrangement might seem crazy and even misogynistic to non-religious people, but not so to evangelicals, and “the dust-up shows how radically notions of gender divide American culture.”
  • Matt Lewis at the Daily Beast says this is the Pences’ business and nobody else’s. The backlash reveals “not just an irreverence for the devoutly religious (or traditional)—but also an intolerance for individual autonomy.”

Let me say here…I do NOT give a shit about his marriage or their religious beliefs…..

None of this is newsworthy!

This an indication of how frivolous news reporting has become ….if there is nothing to report then stop throw crap out there just go home and take a nap.

This is a waste of ink!

Are Emails Still Important?

All the back and forth during the campaign of 2016 about the emails from Sec. Clinton…..some even say that it was this issue that brought the mighty Clinton clan down……

But are they still as important now as they were during the campaigns?

(I will give a long pause to give the Right thuugs a chance to contemplate their answer)

If the election has not dampened their resolve then the subject of emails would still be of importance…..

If so, is that all email?

Vice President-elect Mike Pence has gone to court to make sure that the American people never get to see the emails that he wrote as governor of Indiana.

According to the Indianapolis Star, Mike Pence is going to court to argue that all of his emails should not be made public:

Now that the presidential campaign and most of the furor over Hillary Clinton’s email scandal are behind us, the Pence administration is going to court to argue for its own brand of email secrecy.

The administration is fighting to conceal the contents of an email sent to Gov. Mike Pence by a political ally. That email is being sought by a prominent Democratic labor lawyer who says he wants to expose waste in the Republican administration.

The Mike Pence who is going to court to argue that his emails should remain a secret is the same guy who just spent months on the presidential campaign trail campaigning against Hillary Clinton because she used a private email server. Clinton also did something that Pence is fighting not to do. She released her emails to the public.

Hypocrisy will be the norm in the Trump/Pence administration, but the bigger question is what is Mike Pence hiding? Why doesn’t Pence want the American people to see his emails?

Both Trump and Pence favor increasing spying on American citizens, and less transparency for themselves. The incoming administration is destined to be the least transparent in US history.

(politicususa.com)

Now that the shoe is on the other foot…I expect there to be some push back by the Right wing thugs…..after all who is better at hypocrisy?

Dem Official Announcement

The GOP convention is over and in the books….and as usual the other party has to try and steal a little thunder from the convention….Hil is NO different.

Late Friday the announcement was made of her VP pick….a yawn at best….

It’s Tim Kaine. Hillary Clinton says in a text message to supporters that she’s picked the Virginia senator to join her on the Democratic ticket as her running mate, reports AP. In the message, Clinton says: “I’m thrilled to tell you this first: I’ve chosen Sen. Tim Kaine as my running mate.” Kaine, 58, is expected to join Clinton at a rally in Florida on Saturday. A favorite since the start of Clinton’s search for a running mate, Kaine is a former governor of the battleground state and former mayor of Richmond. Kaine won election to the Senate four years ago after serving as the chairman of the Democratic National Committee. He is not, however, Mr. Charisma. Kaine has referred to himself as “boring,” a trait that Clinton acknowledged with a laugh last week in a PBS interview: “I love that about him.”

Some quick reaction:

  • Washington Post: The pick completes “a Democratic ticket that prizes experience and traditional notions of public service in a political year dominated by Republican rival Donald Trump’s unorthodox, highly personal brand of leadership.”
  • Politico: “He was considered a safe but boring pick. Kaine serves on the Armed Services and Foreign Relations panels in the Senate and is the type of candidate who is unlikely to hurt the ticket with controversial stands or painful gaffes.”
  • The Hill: “Clinton insiders say Kaine was selected foremost because he has the qualifications necessary for the job, particularly when it comes to national security experience. Clinton wanted someone with a thick national security portfolio, and Kaine holds seats on the Senate Armed Services and Senate Foreign Relations committees.”

This will do NOTHING to bring Bernie supporters around to the DNC…..Kaine is a friend to big business and the wealthy….plus he will not take away from Clinton’s celebrity…..plus he is in Bubba’s pocket……

Kaine was a supporter of the TPP…..Clinton says she is against it now….so is she lying?  If so, what else in her campaign is she lying about?

Clinton does not care about the progressives and this pick will help them decide to look elsewhere for a candidate. (Think Green)

Hillary Clinton has joined Donald Trump in selecting a white man from a swing state who describes himself as “boring” for a running mate—and liberal Democrats, especially Bernie Sanders supporters, aren’t exactly fired up about Sen. Tim Kaine. Clinton, however, describes the former Virginia governor as “a lifelong fighter for progressive causes,” and both Wall Street donors and labor groups are happy with the choice. Republicans, meanwhile including RNC chief Reince Priebus, were quick to highlight the party divisions. A round-up of reactions:

  • The Progressive Change Campaign Committee is among the groups not happy about Kaine’s past support for the big trade deals criticized by Donald Trump. “The mood of the country is a populist one,” group co-founder Stephanie Taylor said in a statement to Politico. “Unfortunately, since Tim Kaine voted to fast track the Trans-Pacific Partnership, Republicans now have a new opening to attack Democrats on this economic populist issue.”
  • Union chiefs expressed their support for Kaine, including Service Employees International Union chief Mary Kay Henry, who called him “an experienced leader with a proven track record on issues from raising wages to immigration reform and racial justice,” the Washington Post reports.
  • The Trump campaign wasted no time coming up with a nickname for Kaine: It is calling him “Corrupt Kaine,” based on gifts he received as governor, the New York Times reports. “It’s only fitting that Hillary Clinton would select an ethically challenged insider like Tim Kaine who’s personally benefited from the rigged system,” a Trump spokesman says.
  • Wall Street lobbyists are satisfied with the choice, especially since the other candidates being vetted included Elizabeth Warren. “He’s a sign of Hillary being Hippocratic in her pick—he does no harm,” a top lobbyist tells Politico. “Time will tell if progressives show real angst or if it’s just fringe groups.”
  • The National Organization of Women supports Kaine: “The combination of Hillary Clinton and Tim Kaine stands in sharp contrast to the turn-back-the-clock, step up the war on women platform of Donald Trump and Mike Pence,” NOW President Terry O’Neill said in a statement. “Women know this is the most important election in a generation, and we also know that we have a steadfast advocate in Tim Kaine.”
  • Norman Solomon, who says his “Bernie Delegates Network” represents hundreds of Sanders delegates, calls Kaine “a loyal servant of oligarchy.” “If Clinton has reached out to Bernie supporters, it appears that she has done so to stick triangulating thumbs in their eyes,” he tells the Washington Post.
  • The AP spoke to convention delegates and found that Clinton supporters consider Kaine a “solid” choice who will appeal to a range of voters, while Sanders supporters are deeply unhappy with the choice. It “was a horrible pick,” says Angie Morelli, a Sanders delegate from Nevada. “In a time when she is trying to cater to Sanders supporters, it was more catering to conservative voters and she’s not going to get any wave from it.”

The perfect choice…he will not upstage her in any way and he has been in the Clinton pocket for years…..

Today is the opening salvo for the Dem convention…..4 days of antics and drama and yes, even some comedy…..

Turn The Page!

Is It Pence Per Chance?

The media has been in overdrive trying to select the VP for Trump….we have heard so much from so many…..well they can sleep well tonight….there is a winner!

Donald Trump’s Veepstakes is over, and Indiana Governor Mike Pence has won.

The Veepstakes is one of America’s odder political and journalist traditions. Everyone wants to know, as soon as possible, who will occupy a famously not-that-important job and reporters eagerly sniff out leads even though the name will be publicly announced soon enough. Donald Trump, by leading an unusually interesting campaign, managed to also lead an unusually interesting search process.

Source: 2 winners and 3 losers in Donald Trump’s VP selection – Vox

Are they pleased?  Nope!

It seems there is yet another candidate that needs to pick a VP to join the ticket…..

The MSM will now switch gears and start the process all over again…..we will hear so much from so many.

This will be all consuming…that is until next week when the big story will be thew GOP convention……

Hillary will have to take the backseat to the antics at the convention in Cleveland…I am sure that she will find some way to sneak into the news during the week….it is not like her to go silently away for a week.

And then we start this crap all over again….so much from so many.

The Race For Number 2

Let’s stretch our imagination a bit this morning…..what if Clinton wins the general in November…..who will be her VP?

My opinion….Bernie’

s out…he would be a constant thorn in her butt and she will not tolerate that……so who do you think it will be?

The Wall Street Journal has revealed a list of potential running mates being vetted by Hillary Clinton, and it doesn’t include Bernie Sanders. Possible future vice presidents currently in the early stages of vetting include Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Rep. Xavier Becerra of California, and Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio. A national poll conducted by Bloomberg found Warren leads in popularity among Clinton supporters, 35% of whom wanted to see her as vice president. She was followed by Booker, Castro, and Al Franken. (Newt Gingrich was the most popular VP choice on the GOP side.)

While some Sanders supporters had been hoping for a vice presidential nomination for him, Sanders himself wouldn’t be interested in the position anyway, according to a source close to him. CNN reports Sanders would rather work to change the Democratic party from the Senate than be seen as a “sell-out” or Clinton’s “partner.” That may explain the interest in Warren, whose policies are close to those of Sanders and who could possibly bring some of his supporters over to Clinton. Bustle calls her a “shiny apple to Sanders’ orange.” Sources close to Clinton say the top priority for a running mate is someone who would be ready to step in as president, and that advisers aren’t really looking at what a nominee does for Clinton’s campaign in terms of demographics and geography.

My prediction is someone close to her neocon leanings……Warren is out….she may be asked but she will decline…it will crap all over her “progressive” bona fides to say yes…….Kaine will be the perfect yes man but he will not be asked…..that leaves the major Hispanics….Castro….a political family that has graveled at the feet of the Clintons….he is my choice for her VP

Any predictions from the readers?

Madame Vice-President?

Sorry for the bad news……we go from sadness to the absurd…..the 2016 election…..

   P(a x b) = ∫ f (x) d_{n}C_{k}=\binom{n}{k}=\frac{n!}{k!(n-k)!}

The media is concentrating on the math of 2016 election…..if you are trying to figure the delegate math out then the formula above will be of NO help……NONE what so ever.

But I see that the math may not be as bad for Bernie as the media has speculated….why do I say that?

Hillary has thrown some red meat at the MSM trying to change the conversation away from the math……

Today she let the bomb drop……

Hillary Clinton‘s campaign chairman says in a new interview that there is “no question” the former secretary of State’s short list of potential running mates will include women.

Clinton wants “the best person to make the case to the American people,” John Podesta toldThe Boston Globe in an article published late Wednesday.

“We’ll start with a broad list and then begin to narrow it. But there is no question that there will be women on that list,” Podesta added, though he didn’t provide names of possible running mates.

The most logical person would be Sen. Elizabeth Warren……at least for the media speculation……they think that it will appease the Bernie supporters to come around to Clinton in the general.  (my personal opinion is that his supporters are not that gullible)

If it is a woman then I look for one of her butt buddies….Claire McCaskill or Wasserman-Shultz…..would be the front runners in my mind.

It will be interesting to see how long the media will keep their speculation going…..will the media take the bait?

Do you have a guess?
