Let’s stretch our imagination a bit this morning…..what if Clinton wins the general in November…..who will be her VP?

My opinion….Bernie’

s out…he would be a constant thorn in her butt and she will not tolerate that……so who do you think it will be?

The Wall Street Journal has revealed a list of potential running mates being vetted by Hillary Clinton, and it doesn’t include Bernie Sanders. Possible future vice presidents currently in the early stages of vetting include Sen. Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts, Labor Secretary Tom Perez, Urban Development Secretary Julian Castro, Sen. Tim Kaine of Virginia, Sen. Sherrod Brown of Ohio, Sen. Cory Booker of New Jersey, Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti, Rep. Xavier Becerra of California, and Rep. Tim Ryan of Ohio. A national poll conducted by Bloomberg found Warren leads in popularity among Clinton supporters, 35% of whom wanted to see her as vice president. She was followed by Booker, Castro, and Al Franken. (Newt Gingrich was the most popular VP choice on the GOP side.)

While some Sanders supporters had been hoping for a vice presidential nomination for him, Sanders himself wouldn’t be interested in the position anyway, according to a source close to him. CNN reports Sanders would rather work to change the Democratic party from the Senate than be seen as a “sell-out” or Clinton’s “partner.” That may explain the interest in Warren, whose policies are close to those of Sanders and who could possibly bring some of his supporters over to Clinton. Bustle calls her a “shiny apple to Sanders’ orange.” Sources close to Clinton say the top priority for a running mate is someone who would be ready to step in as president, and that advisers aren’t really looking at what a nominee does for Clinton’s campaign in terms of demographics and geography.

My prediction is someone close to her neocon leanings……Warren is out….she may be asked but she will decline…it will crap all over her “progressive” bona fides to say yes…….Kaine will be the perfect yes man but he will not be asked…..that leaves the major Hispanics….Castro….a political family that has graveled at the feet of the Clintons….he is my choice for her VP

        I nursed an old lady until her death….she died at 90…she was a history fanatic…and she warned me about this…she also opened my eyes re: Libya….she was opposed to intervention.

      5. Lindh was firmly in the Euro camp and the choreographed aftermath of her murder, including the suspension of the Euro referendum campaign, mirrors what’s currently going on in the UK. As it happened, the Lindh assassination failed to swing the vote to joining but the opposition majority did fall.

  5. What difference will it make who her VP might be? Won’t that be an exercise in semantics … a token gesture? Won’t Bill Clinton in fact be the defacto VP in such an arrangement?

        I’d take Abzug (husband and all) over Hil, (husband and all) but then I LOVE hats! Hil enjoys bossing a man around, instead of the economy; maybe should consider “Clinton/Clinton in 2016” ……..sigh……

  7. Probably the single best move Hillary could take to derail her own coronation is to nominate a woman, or a black person. First, this would unify the tattered Republican party and rally their base. Second, rightly or wrongly, it would make most of America roll its eyes because it’s:

    a) “Too greedy.” It displays the kind of over-confidence that just inspires a passive-aggressive “up yours” vote. If you want to rub people’s noses in it, how about nominating Geraldine Ferraro?

    b) “Too unoriginal.” She’s already promising to be 8 more years of the same ol’ shit. Why pick a photocopy of yourself and/or the guy you’re trying to copy? A copy of a copy of a copy? That will sure excite the voters!!!

    Even floating the names of women, or blacks, will hurt you a little. And never nominate a person who the public would want there more than they want you….which is everybody BUT Trump at this point. But if you’re going “copycat”….Joe Biden is available! He’s experienced and likeable, but not overshadowing.

  8. Who’s Archer?

    For me, that was the least futile piece of information, in terms of any poopadoodlish issues such as who might be the next VP (Franken would be interesting, as he’s pretty much anti M-IC altogether…. which is why it won’t happen). If Trump wins, it may become an issue, as I don’t believe he’d ever really make it to the throne room, but, it would also indicate the overall level of sheer stupidity in this country had reached a point where NONE of it really matters, anyway, for it has no actual connection to anything in reality.

    But, I haven’t watched a TV for more than five years, so, who is Archer, and why is he/she so important to this?….

    Sorry, but, gotta do what ya gotta do….

      3. Speaking of barbarians….No TV for 5 years??? Jesus Christ! Do they give you a “5 year chip” for that? Do I have to tell him who shot JR, too?         Ah, the Inter-webs strikes again! Not only is it Donald Trump’s #1 “information” source, it’s meant the death of facts, civility, countless jobs, the English language…& so much more. But to regain relevancy, it’s also put to death the concept of “shared cultural experiences” as the culture devolves into 7 billion individuals constantly masturbating & throwing poop at each other like the damn dirty apes we are.         So, for the folks who are “above TV” now…and for the fossils who seem to hang out around here…..

        Who is Archer? Archer is TV show a lot like Get Smart in the way that it satirizes the glamorous, heroic, James Bond stereotype of spies. Just like agent Max Smart of CONTROL, Sterling Archer of ISIS bumbles his way through every mission assigned to him by the ironically named spy organization (run by his mom). A chronic alcoholic, womanizer and entitled narcissist who benefits from both nepotism and the blanket secrecy of “national security”…Archer is the archetypal “Hero who isn’t”. The show routinely demonstrates the pointless inanity, callousness, corruption and incompetence of the spy-vs-spy set. And it pokes fun at us for putting any amount of faith in these self-serving ass-clowns. It also mentions/parodies a lot of real world CIA activity.

        The show is unofficially set in the late 60’s & 70’s, but occasionally enters The Danger Zone of the 80’s. So, all the cars, props and most references are “vintage” which ironically reflects a time, unlike today, when most people could get most references with out looking them up on the Interwebs. The animation is impressive and the dialogue is snappy, loaded with puns, wordplay, scene-crossing dialogue and sexual innuendo. (aka “phrasing”) Speaking of which, here’s just the tip.

        And a half hour a day watching Archer is actually considerably more productive than speculating who the Hillary-Tron 2016 might appoint as its Designated Funeral Hitter….or shitting your pants in irrational fear of the next “ISIS attack”…the copycat ISIS that drives pickups around deserts located in failed states. Mind you, both ISISes are hilarious cartoon-ish villains who get their kicks committing their anti-social mayhem in the name of God, or Allah…or whoever will pay them…or give them cocaine. It’s all just one big party on somebody else’s dime.
