Are You An Anti-Semite?

We hear this term used a lot these…it seems that if you criticize Israel then you are by default a anti-Semite.

Sorry but that is crap!

I can criticize Israel and still respect the religion….but for those that still have this gnawing ignorance…..I offer this…..keep in mind this site has a Libertarian lean to it….

This is a topic which has had so much written about it that you could fill an entire city library with books entirely dedicated to this topic. Marx took a shot at it. As did Sartre. There were, of course, also plenty of good books written on this topic, but rather than list them all, I want to suggest a few simple common sense points and then go to what I consider an authoritative explanation of this thing we call “antisemitism” and which, of course, has nothing to do with Semites.

So first, let’s dump this silly term and replace it by a simple and straightforward one: judeophobia. Just like any other phobia (say, for example, russophobia) the phobia of X is the 1) fear and/or hatred of X. Some people hate Jews, others fear them (think of the “fear of the Jews” in the Scripture), some do both. So judeophobia seems both logical and uncontroversial to me.

I do not agree with the premise….for me my criticism is of the treatment of people by the government of Israel not their religious beliefs….

Paying For Miracles!

That is “paying” not “praying” for miracles.

There seems to be booming business in Africa on the selling of miracles…..religious leaders are making profits off these hopes by parishioners…selling miracles…..

The Christian nation of Zambia has a proliferation of churches led by foreign and local pastors, popularly known as prophets. They take advantage of people’s credulity to make good money.

On a recent Sunday morning in Chibolya Secondary School, in the Zambian capital of Lusaka, more than ten churches conducted services in several classrooms. The noise made it hard to concentrate on any sermon.

Hundreds of people flocked to the area to hear a so-called prophetic word. This refers to a prophecy tailored to serve one individual at a particular time. It is a foretelling of personal events and the congregants loved it.

Kinda sounds like a practice of the Roman Catholic Church, the early years……I guess they had to pay for all that opulence in buildings and ceremonies somehow.

It is stories like this that turn people off of religion…I have a problem with this type of religious programs….

Personally, I think it is disgusting to prey on people’s beliefs and to profit from their situations.

I need to go take a shower now!

Must close it down for now…..enjoy your day….chuq

Subject:  Sex and Religion

There are a few subjects that I seldom post on….religion is one of those subjects.

Religion is a personal decision by the individual…..I have mine and you have yours and that is the way it should remain.  I do not care about yours and you sure as Hell do not care about mine….

Most of the crazies in the fundamental side of religion have their problems with sex….and some of these people will go to extreme measures to see that NO one enjoys sex.

I found one such story……

From all over the world, they flocked to the tiny town of Spindale, NC, in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, lured by promises of inner peace and eternal life. What many found instead: years of terror—waged in the name of the Lord. Congregants of the Word of Faith Fellowship were regularly punched, smacked, choked, slammed to the floor, or thrown through walls in a violent form of deliverance meant to “purify” sinners by beating out devils, 43 former members told the AP in separate, exclusive interviews. Victims of the violence included pre-teens and toddlers—even crying babies, who were vigorously shaken, screamed at, and sometimes smacked to banish demons. Students in the church’s K-12 school were encouraged to beat their own classmates. Several former followers said some congregants of the church were sexually abused, including minors.

Word of Faith Fellowship has been scrutinized on numerous occasions by law enforcement, social services agencies, and the news media since the early 1990s—all without significant impact, mostly because followers refused to cooperate. Those interviewed by the AP—most of them raised in the church—say Word of Faith leaders strong-armed young victims and their parents to lie. They said members were forbidden to seek outside medical attention for their injuries, which included cuts, sprains, and cracked ribs. The former members, some of whom offered up secretly recorded conversations with the church’s controlling leader, Jane Whaley, said they were speaking out now due to guilt for not doing more to stop the abuse and because they fear for the safety of the children still in the church, believed to number about 100. Click for much more on the alleged abuses.

These are the same type that want to inflict their religious BS on everyone.

Religious types are so pathetic.

End with poetry……

Remember!

I must be gone,

I cannot linger,

Never put your face,

Where you wouldn’t put your finger.

Close it down for the day…..be well, be safe….chuq

Crazies Never Give Up

Ever since the election of 2008 there have been a wealth of crazies telling the country of the doom that Obama will bring…..there were the FEMA “indoctrination” camps, Christians would be persecuted, Obama would take over the country and give himself a third term as president….oh yeah do not forget the anti-Christ thing……..on and on…I am sure you could come up with a few that I have not thought of….and now since he has not accomplished anything  that these looney toons had predicted you would think that they would slack off and see who would win the next election so they could start all over again…..right?

Nope!  They are still at it….and the best of the crazies is still going strong…..the mouth of the Tea Party Caucus in Congress, Michele Bachmann……he newest prediction……

Michele Bachmann is fantasizing about the apocalypse again — but it’s hard to tell if she’s trying to stop it or enthusiastically cheering it on.

The former Republican congresswoman appeared Saturday on the “end times” radio program hosted by Jan Markell and Eric Barger, who she warned that the Syrian civil war was setting up the biblical battle of Armageddon, reported Right Wing Watch.

Bachmann predicted world leaders were poised to grant “legitimacy to the Islamic State,” and she said Russian and Iranian military intervention in Syria was establishing grounds for a future invasion of Israel to seize its energy resources — in accordance with the biblical prophecy.

First she is a certifiable loon…..second just what natural resources does Israel have that would make it an attractive site for an invasion…..sand?

Sadly, I hate to admit it but there are some of my fellow Americans that listen to and buy into her religious lunacy……

Think about it……this certifiable moron ran for the highest office in the land….and she had a wealth of supporters…..thank God few voted for her and she was sent packing from the campaign trail and later from Congress…..

Another sad thing…..she is not alone in these delusions……sadly Americans are that damn gullible….

Speaking Of “Good Christians”

My friend over at “Lines by Liming” turn me onto this story…..and after I read about it I have to concur with his humorous take of the story…..

Hobby Lobby?  Remember them?  They will not let you work for them if you happen to be gay….they find same sex marriage abhorrent…..or to terminate a pregnancy…..and they are a good Christian organization…..remember them now?

According to them…..a woman does not have a right that is Federal law……but this is somehow just fine……

The Museum of the Bible being built in DC by the Christian family behind one of the nation’s biggest arts-and-crafts retailers is coming along nicely. Maybe too nicely, per law enforcement sources, who tell the Daily Beast that the Green family—the ones whose Hobby Lobby chain claimed a big victory last year when the Supreme Court ruled it didn’t have to provide insurance for employee birth control—has been the subject of a four-year federal investigation for “illicit importation of cultural heritage from Iraq,” per the Daily Beast. That comprises hundreds of clay tablets, thousands of years old and inscribed in ancient cuneiform, allegedly smuggled out of the Middle East and shipped to the Greens’ Oklahoma City home base in 2011. The tablets and tens of thousands of other artifacts are for the museum, set to open in 2017 as “one of the world’s largest private collections of rare biblical texts, objects, and artifacts.”

The problem with the Iraq tablets is that, as museum head Cary Summers puts it, there was “incomplete paperwork” attached, though the Daily Beast points out that a simple logistical issue wouldn’t have dragged on so long. Instead, someone looking to bring in artifacts that should never have left their country of origin may have purposely undervalued the antiquities so they could be smuggled into the US. An unnamed source tells the Daily Beast the FedEx forms were marked “hand-crafted clay tiles,” with a value of around $300—which is “technically accurate, but … vastly underestimates their true worth, and … obscures their identification as the cultural heritage of Iraq,” the site notes. Hobby Lobby CEO Steve Green tells the Daily Beast, “Is it possible that we have some illicit [artifacts]? That’s possible,” but adds they didn’t knowingly act illegally.

So is it okay to STEAL?  That is exactly what they are doing…stealing another culture’s history…..I believe there is something written down about stealing, right?

But because they are a “good” Christian group these laws do not apply to them…is that about it?

Stealing history of a people is by far the worse type of rape…the rape of a culture…there is NO excuse for this…..religion or otherwise……There is NOTHING “Good” or “Christian” about the theft of a country’s heritage….PERIOD!

Speaking of “good” Christians…..look at what that mental midget Pat Robinson has to say about a guy who ran Guatemala…….

Robertson gushed over Ríos Montt, claiming that he was the real victim because he was targeted by liberals just for being a good Christian.

“I know Efraín Ríos Montt, who was the president there,” Robertson said. “He’s a terrific guy, he was with the El Verbo Church and they had a marvelous government but the left got after him and he couldn’t survive. They just went after him and attacked him and attacked him, the United States State Department went after him, it was terrible.”

Rios-Montt is a good person because he went to a Christian church?

Let’s look at this “good Christian”……….

“At the height of the bloodshed under Ríos Montt, reports put the number of killings and disappearances at more than 3,000 per month,” Patrick Daniels of the Guatemala Solidarity Network noted. “Such was the extent of the violence that in 1999 the UN commission concluded that it constituted acts of genocide.”

His regime specifically targeted indigenous communities with violence and displacement, and in 2013 Ríos Montt was convicted of genocide for crimes committed against the Maya Ixil community. “Hunger, systematic rape and forced displacements were all used as tools of war against the Ixil people,” the BBC reported. However, the conviction was overturned due to a legal technicality and Ríos Montt was later declared unfit to stand for retrial.

Yep…..”Good Christians” every one!
There is something to be said about all these “Good Christians” and none of it positive.

Why Are Christians So Compliant?

Whenever I write anything remotely pro-Palestinian I usually get some Christian that tries to derail me in one way or the other….usually it is a quote from their book about Israel is for the Jews given to them by God….so it sez in the Old Testament….I then ask them who wrote the book?  The answer is simple……Jews.

Their unshakable support for anything Israel just amazes me…..why?  Is it that for the prediction of the “end of days” there must be an Israel and a rebuilt temple?  Whatever it is most are almost rabid in their support of Israel.  I hate to tell them but the feeling is NOT mutual.

They never seem to grasp that Christians are not as welcome as they think they are……at Christmas and Easter okay but that is a money thing from the tourism not some religious tolerance.

In the past Christian chapels and churches have been destroyed in various ways not by Palestinians but rather Ultra-fundamentalist Jews….the most recent attack…..

In recent years, the Feast of Tabernacles (Sukkoth) has become a significant religious holiday for evangelical Christians who support Israel. They come to Jerusalem by the thousands from all over the world for a week of celebrations that include study sessions of the Bible and the New Testament. This year, the International Christian Embassy Jerusalem held a convention at an auditorium in Jerusalem attended by thousands of Christian Zionists.

It seems, however, that certain groups in Israel are deeply concerned by the growing phenomenon and even fighting it. According to those opposing it — for the most part, ultra-Orthodox and other religious Jews — it is actually Christian missionary activity aimed at encouraging Jews to convert to Christianity. Recently, in an unusual move, Israel’s Chief Rabbis David Lau and Yitzhak Yosef issued an appeal against the convention, describing it as “a spiritual danger” “undermining the Jewish character” of Israel.

The Yad L’Achim organization, which its leaders say has been fighting Christian missionary activity for 50 years, is behind the struggle against the convention in Jerusalem. Yad L’Achim considers it a dangerous and even an illegal attempt to proselytize about Christianity in the Land of Israel. “For years we had a tacit understanding with the International Christian Embassy in Israel, whereby they steered clear of missionary activity, and over the years, they did keep their part of the deal,” Rabbi Shmuel Lifschitz, who heads the organization, told Al-Monitor. “However, last Sukkoth, they hosted soldiers and young Jews and openly preached for conversion to Christianity. As far as we are concerned, it was crossing a red line.”

Christians time to wake up and smell the coffee…..you are NO more welcome in Israel than is a Muslim!

Ask the Catholic Church if you do not believe what I say…….read this…..

Last week Israeli security forces arrived with bulldozers at a piece of property owned by the Catholic Church in east Jerusalem, close to the West Bank city of Bethlehem. They said it had been built without a permit and proceeded to destroy it.

This provoked a backlash from the head of the Catholic Church in Israel who said the demolition was carried out without any prior warning.

“This act is against the law, against justice and humanity, against any ideology upon which peace can be built and increases segregation and hate,” Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem Faud Tawwal told AFP at the site of the demolition on Tuesday. The property had been standing before Israel annexed the area after the 1967 Six-Day War, he said.

Does this sound like anything you have heard or read in the last year or so?

Time for Christians to get off this soapbox of some fictional occurrence from some unproven historical outlook and realize that Christians are NOT wanted in the Holy Land…….your dollars are fine….but your religion has to GO!

STOP! Letting some religious promise blind you to reality!

Experts say imposition of Sharia law only 358 votes away from veto-proof majority in Congress | twissblog

I would like to end my publishing day with a little humor….what is life without whimsy?

There has been a wealth of blogs posting on the horror of the possibility of Sharia law being introduced into our governance….personally I think this is just another one of those issues that the morons have gotten the upper hand…..I mean think it over….it would take a Constitutional amendment and do you know how goddamn impossible that is…..if not then just ask those that supported the ERA.

I was going to re-blog this piece from Twissblog, a very good site that injects a little humor into news stories….personally I like that…..it is great to have a good chuckle from time to time…..and this piece gave me that chuckle I needed for the day…..

If you are one of those that is concerned about the creeping Sharia into our government may I suggest you read this….and join me in a good chuckle….

Of all the things to worry about in life….this one is a low priority…..I am more worried about the possibility that crickets will become a major food stable…….

If you have a limited sense of humor then move on…….this will not tickle your funny bone……for me…….it is just goddamn funny!

What Happened To The “End Of Days”?

I pride myself at trying to keep my readers up to date on the affairs that I feel will impact their lives…..

I wrote a piece about the prediction that the world would end on 07 October 2015….I was not alone…my friend over at “Lines By Liming” did a post also….and let me say that we both were relieved to wake up breathing….

But we did not take the prediction too seriously….there have been a wealth of “the end is near” predictions over the years…….I have waited to see if the predictors have tried to explain their wrong prediction away……and almost predictable (pun intended) they have an answer……

Chris McCann seemed pretty confident that Wednesday was the end of the world as we know it, but midnight has come and gone, we’re all still here, and we want to know why. The eBible Fellowship leader offered up a lengthy explanation on the group’s Facebook page, first acknowledging that “since it is now October 8th it is now obvious that we were incorrect regarding the world’s ending on the 7th.” McCann blames faulty “biblical information” for the swerve, says that he always claimed a “strong likelihood” of Earth’s decimation (not a 100% definite annihilation), and notes that “THE WORLD’S CONTINUATION IS NOT A JUSTIFICATION OF THE WORLD.”

That’s because the “world” is still “guilty,” in God’s eyes, and in its “death throes,” with another apocalyptic date sure to emerge. “A date of destruction given to the world … is like a man with a terminal disease that was given a short time to live by his Dr.,” he points out. “And yet, the man somehow managed to pass the 6 months (or year) he was told. The prognosis, however, hasn’t changed. He’s still terminally ill. It’s still certain he will die from his disease. It’s just a matter of when that remains in question.” There’s no further update on the group’s website.

These people are just batcrap crazy!

I have a “end of days” prediction for my readers………

The world will end….when it ends!

Can I have an AMEN?

At Day’s End Or “End of Days”?

For my last post of the day…….I want to leave you guys with the best story of the day……once again we are on the eve of destruction (yet another rock reference….I’m on fire)…….Repent Ye Sinner!

Speaking of fire……..

According to the typical religious morons…..today is the last day…..it will all end today!

Harold Camping may be gone, but the doomsday predictor’s legacy is not forgotten. According to eBible Fellowship, a Christian group based in Philadelphia, Wednesday is the Earth’s final day—and it’s based on Camping’s former end-time predictions, the Guardian reports. The deceased prophet had originally pegged May 21, 2011, as our collective last day (followed quickly by Oct. 21, 2011, after the first date came and went with no mass destruction), but eBible founder Chris McCann says Camping’s first selected doomsday was just Phase One of our end times: That day in May was actually Judgment Day, at which point God simply stopped deciding who would be saved and who wouldn’t on the day of reckoning scheduled for 1,600 days later—which is Wednesday.

“There are only two groups of people in this world,” the group’s Facebook page reads. “The first group are the unsaved and are of this world. … They will be destroyed forever on the last day. We weep for them.” The second group, naturally, are the saved ones, though McCann doesn’t automatically shoehorn himself and his followers in. “If we are in the second group we know we are there only by God’s Amazing Grace. Otherwise we also would be forever destroyed on the last day which will likely be this October 7th,” the Facebook post adds. The world is set to “pass away” not from water but from fire, McCann says, per the Guardian, and will be “annihilated.” He does hedge his bets, noting “there’s a strong likelihood that this will happen, which means there’s an unlikely possibility that it will not.

More psycho-babble from the same type of group that brought you the “Rapture” fallacy.

I am hedging my bets …..in case these douche bags are right…I want to go out letting you guys know how much I appreciate for patronage of IST…..and to thank you for making 2015 an excellent year……Thanx and I appreciate you guys so much.

Can I Get An Amen?

If I wake up breathing tomorrow then…….. all I can say is…..NEVER MIND!
