2016: My Interest Has Been Peaked

I agree with my reader that says it is way too early to be even mildly intrigued by the 2016 election antics…..the election is over a year away and all we know or think we know may well be nothing more than a fart in the wind.  But like a slow motion train wreck…I cannot look away….I might miss something!

I have written about Sanders only because I have watched him for over 30 years and am proud of him for damning the torpedoes and taking on Clinton……and then there is Trump……his wild ass mouth has taken the country by storm and yes I think he is a big fart in the wind and all this support will lessen the closer we get to a real election…..and then there is the one candidate that that has also peaked my interest….Ben Carson.

I have written about him in the past…..not about his candidacy but rather some of the Right wing rhetoric that he has been uttering for some time now…..stuff mostly down the rabbit hole of Alan West type of thinking……

A recent poll of Republicans nationwide have Carson second to Trump and heads above more traditional candidates like Rubio, Perry, Bush, et al…..is it possible that he could out funk Trump and win the election?

The perhaps somewhat surprising current Republican darling is neurosurgeon Ben Carson, who’s polling second nationally and is tied with Donald Trump at 23% in all-important Iowa, the Hill reports. No other Republican candidates are even close to those numbers, and Carson supporters believe it’s not surprising at all and high time the country starts seeing him like an actual threat to get the nomination. “The press has never taken him seriously,” a former campaign manager says. “Now they have no choice but to talk about him.” Donations to Carson’s campaign have doubled since the first debate, and the crowds he’s drawn recently are second to only Trump.

When asked to explain Carson’s appeal, campaign manager Barry Bennett tells the Washington Post the candidate is “the smartest man I have ever met.” He says Carson’s intelligence and leadership qualities will make up for his lack of experience, and the biggest hurdle to him winning the nomination is simply “getting some time at the microphone.” But, CNN reports Carson’s personal political history—he told the network he was once a “pretty left-wing Democrat”—could hurt him closer to the nomination. Regardless, the surging campaign remains confident. “As nice as he is, Dr. Carson is very competitive and believes he can win,” a Carson campaign strategist tells the Hill. “Ask anyone he’s played pool with.”

After careful research I am still left with one nagging question……can Mr. Carson catch the front runner or could Carson actually win this thing?

Clinton Cash…..And The Right Rejoices

The Right has had it in for the Clintons since the days of Newt’s witch hunts of the ’90’s…….and now that Hillary has painted a bigger target on her back by announcing that she will seek the Dem nomination the Right has been looking for that “big” story that will put her in her place.

Now they think they have it!  Some dude writes a book about the foreign cash coming into the Clinton Global Initiative and Hillary;s campaign…..The guy has been all over FOX News ranting and raving and being idolized by the Right for his revelations…..

But there is a bit of a problem………..Media Matters has looked into the veiled claims by the author……..

Clinton Cash will be released on May 5, and mediareports have already hyped the book’s supposed revelations about connections between Hillary Clinton’s time as secretary of state, donations to the Clinton Foundation, and paid speeches given by the Clintons.

Schweizer makes clear that he does not intend to present a smoking gun, despite the media speculation. The book relies heavily on timing, stitching together the dates of donations to the Clinton Foundation and Bill Clinton’s speaking fees with actions by the State Department.

Schweizer explains he cannot prove the allegations, leaving that up to investigative journalists and possibly law enforcement. “Short of someone involved coming forward to give sworn testimony, we don’t know what might or might not have been said in private conversations, the exact nature of the transition, or why people in power make the decision they do,” he writes.  Later, he concludes, “We cannot ultimately know what goes on in their minds and ultimately provide the links between the money they took and the benefits that subsequently accrued to themselves, their friends, and their associates.”

ThinkProgress details several of Schweizer’s claims, and highlights one major error already found in the book. According to the site, Schweizer at one point uses a press release to bolster one of his many speculative claims, citing it to suggest there may have been a link between a private company that was paying Bill Clinton for speeches (and which supposedly issued the press release) and a State Department report released when Hillary Clinton was secretary. However, ThinkProgress notes, the press release Schweizer cites was revealed as a hoax back in 2013.

This apparently sloppy sourcing from Schweizer is nothing new. As Media Matters extensively documented, Schweizer’s career as a Republican activist and researcher is riddled with errors, retractions, and investigations that find his facts “do not check out” and his sources “do not exist.” Our analysis found at least 10 separate incidents in which journalists called out Schweizer for his botched reporting.

In other words….this guy has written a book that is packed with innuendos and misinformation……but what would you expect from a guy that FOX think is a god among men?

We know that FOX has NEVER let the truth get in the way of a good story.

You can expect these types of made-up reports…..after all it is the ‘theater of the absurd’…..2016 edition.

Benghazi Drives Islamophobia

I have recently come to the conclusion that most Tea party people are haters and racists…….I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt for years now but they write and speak and it just becomes more clear with every post on the blogosphere………they hate anyone who does not agree with them……

The Heritage Foundation use to be a respected think tank….well respected by most pundits but that means very little to me…….but it has become a Tea Party hate mill…..it has lost all credibility in the past couple of years……and recently even more has been lost…….

A panel on Benghazi at a conservative think tank devolved into finger-pointing and “ugly taunting”—targeted at a law student wearing an Islamic head scarf, Dana Milbank writes in the Washington Post. Asking a question from the back of the room, Saba Ahmed noted that “we portray Islam and all Muslims as bad, but there’s 1.8 billion followers of Islam,” adding that the 8 million American Muslims didn’t appear to be represented at the meeting. As Elias Isquith notes at Salon, from there the panel quickly deteriorated into an “Islamophobic freak show.”

Panelist Brigitte Gabriel replied that “180 million to 300 million” Muslims are “dedicated to the destruction of Western civilization.” She noted that “most Germans were peaceful, yet the Nazis drove the agenda.” She asked Ahmed whether she was American, then dismissed her “political correctness” as belonging “in the garbage.” When Gabriel asked why others weren’t “speaking out,” she got a standing ovation, Milbank notes. Then moderator and radio host Chris Plante asked, “Can you tell me who the head of the Muslim peace movement is?” Ahmed’s quiet reply: “I guess it’s me right now.” “The facts never had a chance,” writes Milbank, amid “anti-Islamist rhetoric that too often sounded just anti-Islam.” Media Matters has video of the exchange; Milbank’s full piece is here and Isquith’s is here.

The Right is so afraid of the rest of society that it must find someone to demonize……..who knows who it would have been if 9/11 had not happened……..we can only guess……..

I have seen NOTHING about the so called “Christian Right” that is either Christian or Right……I refuse to believe that any of these people, the religious types, knows what it means to be Christian.  Personally, I want no part of their form of “Christianity” if it means treating others as some how sub-human.  The whole world would be better off without them!

Cliven Bundy Muses On What He Knows 'About The Negro'

A final chapter can be written on the saga of the lying bigoted rancher from Nevada…….

Anyone that has half a brain, well leaves out most of the ignorant Right, can finally say that the Bundy drama is done…….this man has proven to the world just what it is and what he is all about…….one, he is a liar and two he is a racist prick!

The lying part……Bundy has stood before the nation and told it what he is all about….that he denies the US claims and that his family and cattle have been using the land since the 1870’s…..and now the rest of the story……… Bundy’s family didn’t buy that land until 1948 and didn’t start grazing their cattle on it until 1954.

If that was not big enough to shut the mumbling multitudes up….there was his latest interview…….

“I want to tell you one more thing I know about the Negro,” he said. Mr. Bundy recalled driving past a public-housing project in North Las Vegas, “and in front of that government house the door was usually open and the older people and the kids — and there is always at least a half a dozen people sitting on the porch — they didn’t have nothing to do. They didn’t have nothing for their kids to do. They didn’t have nothing for their young girls to do.

“And because they were basically on government subsidy, so now what do they do?” he asked. “They abort their young children, they put their young men in jail, because they never learned how to pick cotton. And I’ve often wondered, are they better off as slaves, picking cotton and having a family life and doing things, or are they better off under government subsidy? They didn’t get no more freedom. They got less freedom.”

Now we know what this coward is……….a freeloader…………..he is NO patriot and above all he is a screaming racist!

And then there is the little soldier boys of the the militias……..if they stand behind this guy any longer then I will employ a method of analysis used by the Right……Guilt by association………if they stand with this guy then they are NO better than him and are all racists……..

2014 Babbling Buffoons Of Babylon #5

Welcome to edition #5 of BBB….those mental midget that are allowed to talk before their brains are in gear………..I do not mind an innocent misstatement but most of these are anything but a misstatement……..so without further introduction   let us move onward shall we?

#1–This from a right wing pundit, Stan Solomon…………

“I don’t really give a damn if there are any Muslims here but if they are here and they don’t want to be Americans, then get the hell out, and the same for any other group,” Solomon said, before railing against the president. “Barack Obama is not an American, never has been, not in his actions, not in his speech, not in his politics and not in his birth.”

“And not in his baseball throw either,” cohost and former congressional candidate Steve Davis interjected.

“He’s a homosexual, always has been, is now, always will be,” Solomon continued. “That’s his right to be but this nonsense that somehow homosexuality is something equal to or preferable to is just wrong.”

2–Going along with above statement was Eagle Forum Phyllis Schlafly…you may remember her from the days of the ERA…..but she still has not learned to be anything but a toad…..

Schlafly applauded his remarks: “Very well stated Stan, thank you for being a voice of truth and sanity on the air.”

3–There is an ex-FBI agent, John Gaundolo, who weighed in on the person chosen to run the CIA, John Brennan………

“Mr. Brennan did convert to Islam when he served in an official capacity on the behalf of the United States in Saudi Arabia,” Guandolo told interviewer and radio host Tom Trento.

“That fact alone is not what is most disturbing,” Guandolo continued. “His conversion to Islam was the culmination of a counterintelligence operation against him to recruit him. The fact that foreign intelligence service operatives recruited Mr. Brennan when he was in a very sensitive and senior U.S. government position in a foreign country means that he either a traitor … [or] he has the inability to discern and understand how to walk in those kinds of environments, which makes him completely unfit to the be the director of Central Intelligence.”

Guandolo is an ex-FBI agent because………while working on the corruption case against former Rep. William Jefferson, engaged in a sexual relationship with a key witness and resigned before he could be questioned about it.

4–And then there is the wealthy…..they are not exempt from being MORONS either…….

Bud Konheim, CEO of luxury fashion company Nicole Miller, didn’t want to let Gopner and Kessler have all the fun of hating on the poor. He told CNBC’s Squawk Box that North America’s lower class needed to stop whining — or, better yet, go find a poorer continent.

“We’ve got a country that the poverty level is wealth in 99 percent of the rest of the world,” Konheim said. “So we’re talking about woe is me, woe is us, woe is this. The guy that’s making, oh my God, he’s making $35,000 a year, why don’t we try that out in India or some countries we can’t even name. China, anyplace, the guy is wealthy.”

5–This one is from the Obama admin on Israel……

The U.S. House of Representatives approved, on Wednesday, a bill which changes Israel’s status into one of a “strategic partner” of the United States.

According to a report by Alternative Information Center (AIC), the new status will provide Israel with various security benefits, among them priority in receiving American weapons surpluses. Unlike the bill’s original draft, the final version does not include the automatic granting of U.S. tourist visas to Israeli citizens.

The bill, which passed the House with a great majority, will now go to the Senate for a final confirmation.

Israel gets an upgrade?  Israel gets whatever it wants with the exception of a blowjob in a Sear’s restroom and I am not so sure that a couple of congressional hawks  are not already providing that service…..this is the dumbest thing I have ever heard and a waste of time and resources…..

6–CPAC was in full swing and the people attending are attacking Norquist……as some sort of secret Muslim…….you remember him, right?  He is or use to be the taxation guru of the Right and now?

Gaffney was part of an event that immediately followed a panel featuring Norquist, where he delivered a presentation alleging that Norquist is “both enabling and empowering Muslim Brotherhood influence operations against our movement and our country.”

On his radio show last month, Gaffney said that Norquist is advancing the “civilization jihad of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

But Gaffney is not alone.

Rep. Frank Wolf (R-VA) denounced Norquist from the floor of the House for associating with “unsavory people and groups out of the mainstream.”

Glenn Beck and Jerry Boykin, the executive vice president of the Family Research Council, also dedicated an entire program to discussing Norquist’s supposed role as “a Muslim Brotherhood facilitator.”

Not holding back, anti-Muslim activist David Horowitz attacked Norquist as a “ practicing Muslim” who has “infiltrated” the GOP, and Robert Spencer said last year that Norquist’s presence at CPAC turned the gathering into a “Sharia-compliant conference.”

“They are enforcing the Sharia,” Pamela Geller said of CPAC after the summit rejected her panel last year, which she blamed on “the influence of what can only be described as Muslim Brotherhood facilitators or operatives like Suhail Khan and Grover Norquist.” She was still able to host a nonofficial event where one speaker said he was “proud” of attacks against mosques.

But my fave on the proof the Norquist is a Muslim…….Cathie Adams of Eagle Forum, who said that she knows Norquist is a secret Muslim because “he has a beard.”

No Argument? Spew Hate!

Some degree of hate has always been there in the political realm…..but in the last few years it has ticked up to the point that it is NO longer amusing.  Surely you have seen it also….you know libs are brain dead……conservs are retards…….so on and so forth….yada….yada…..

I remember back during the days of George 1….then Clinton and on to GW……everyone one of them was setting the country on a course of ruin……but I did not hate them….I did question their sanity at times over the policies they pursued……but from me there was NO hate.

Back in those days I was writing endlessly to the Letters to the Editor….so many in fact that they tried to limit my letters to 2 a month…..so being a devious little turd…..I started written under several pen names to get my views out there…..even in those days right wingers hated…..they would insult, as usual, but seldom had any ideas what they were writing about…….then I found blogging……and dammit I found a whole new dimension of hate……and as usual insults with NO actual debate just flinging insults……as far as I am concerned insults and hatred are NOT an argument……just illustrates the little intelligence the person actually is grasping……

I seems that hatred is becoming the norm instead of the exception……..

You’re a “hater,” according to a new poll, and odds are, if there were an election today, you’d vote for a Republican in your House district. Some 72% of haters would choose a GOP rep today, the Washington Post-ABC News poll finds. The proportion who’d go Democrat? Only 14%, the Post reports. Some 34% of haters are Republicans, while 38% are independents with Republican leanings. Some 71% are against ObamaCare. And they’re a powerful group, covering a third of voters, up from 28% in 2010. In short, per Sean Sullivan and Scott Clement: Even if Republicans haven’t had the best year, “these voters will come home in the end.”

Okay let’s talk bout the hatred for the prez, shall we?

Surely one has heard all the moronic ramblings of hatred……Obama is a socialist (this shows a serious lack of intelligence)…..the prez is gay or a Muslim or born in Kenya….even regurgitation that is is a dictator……these are all bullshit reasons….you know it and I know it….people use these because they are afraid to spout the real reason it could cost them in votes or cash or celeb status…..but there was one person that spoke the truth…….

There are probably all kinds of great responses a teacher can make to a student who says he wants to grow up to be president. “We don’t need another black president” would not be among them. A white teacher in Fairfield, Ohio, has been suspended without pay and faces dismissal after doing just that, reports the Journal-News. The local board of education took action after four students who overheard the conversation backed up the allegations against veteran freshman teacher Gil Voigt. The board took their word over Voigt’s, who said he got misquoted, reports the Cincinnati Inquirer. He can still appeal the ruling. “He was talking to some students and said some things that were racially insensitive,” says the school superintendent. “We just felt this teacher had crossed the line.” It probably didn’t help Voigt’s case that he had been disciplined in 2008 for making an “inappropriate racial comment.”

This guy is a twat….but at least he is honest on the reason for his hatred of Obama……very few are that honest…….maybe if they were we would take them a little seriously………

13 Simple Rules

Or Remembering Saul–and NO this is not a post about some mythical monarch from BC Holy Land but rather the scourge of the Right….Saul Alinsky.

I recall back in ’08 during the election that brought Obama to the highest elected office in the land….there was an uproar over some of Obama’s ‘friends’…..his pastor and some random dude from the ’70’s radical group the Weather Underground…..but the one that got a bunch of play was Saul Alinsky and his book “Rules For Radicals”….a treatise for radicals and rules of civic engagement.

I believe it was that moron that the GOP picked for their VP that had the biggest object to Obama’s association with Alinsky…..Alinsky died in 1972 so the best Obama could do was read his book…..but sorry dipsticks reading the book does not make one a socialist or a communist or a Marxist….basically it makes one well read.

The problem is that the loudest objectors have not read the book….if they had they would not be so verbal for you see the Tea Party actors are basically using rules from “Rules For Radicals” in their dealings with Obama and the Congress……..

Here are the 13 rules outlined in Alinsky’s book……..

Always remember the first rule of power tactics: Power is not only what you have but what the enemy thinks you have.

The second rule is: Never go outside the experience of your people.

…The third rule is: Wherever possible go outside the experience of the enemy. Here you want to cause confusion, fear, and retreat.

…the fourth rule is: Make the enemy live up to their own book of rules.

…the fourth rule carries within it the fifth rule: Ridicule is man’s most potent weapon.

…the sixth rule is: A good tactic is one that your people enjoy.

…the seventh rule is: A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.

…the eighth rule: Keep the pressure on.

…the ninth rule: The threat is usually more terrifying than the thing itself.

The tenth rule: The major premise for tactics is the development of operations that will maintain a constant pressure upon the opposition.

…The eleventh rule is: If you push a negative hard and deep enough it will break through into its counterside.

…The twelfth rule: The price of a successful attack is a constructive alternative.

…The thirteenth rule: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it.

The only real winner in using Alinsky’s rules is ideology………..

Ideology has taken over Washington like never before. It explains why Republicans are willing to suffer political blame for the shutdown: It’s all connected to what Robert Samuelson has dubbed “the politics of self-esteem.” Ideologues on either side of the spectrum believe they’re working not for themselves, but for the betterment of the country. That thinking “suggests that you don’t just disagree with your adversaries; you also look down on them as morally inferior.” And “if politics’ subconscious payoff is higher self-esteem, it makes sense not to cooperate at all,” Samuelson notes in the Washington Post. With the shutdown, “tea party types can feel they’ve affirmed their moral courage.” As for the left, those pushing ObamaCare already have health insurance, but they’re on a crusade for those who don’t. “The ACA serves as a platform for them to assert their moral superiority.” And when politics is full of people who consider themselves “true believers,” it becomes even more dysfunctional. BTW, the TP is using the book nicely…..but according to past Tea Partyers……..does that make people like Ted Cruz a socialist or a communist or a Marxist?  Obama had read his book and used the tactics in his community organizing efforts and he has been labeled a socialist…..,by that logic….so is the TEA PARTY!
