Do you watch the news? If so, how many times have you heard the term “electability” when reporting on the candidates for the 2020 cycle?
Between polls and electability the lies just keep giving for the MSM…..these are tools used to force certain candidates on the voting public…..the DNC is helping this deception by trying to limit the candidates the public has to choose from for their vote.
I like pundits that pretend to care about the process of voting…like Morning Joe on MSNBC he states….” it is not whether you are too liberal or conservative but rather that you have a message”…..what crap!
When Dems do have a message then they are attacked by the pundits as “socialist”…all the while they promote the useless candidates that have NO message other than being a Centrist with no plans and no guts…..
The myth of “electability” is horse manure!
Let’s be honest……the con of electability is nothing more than fanciful pundit thinking…..shows their prejudices….not a true look at reality.
Let’s look at the phenom of “electability”…..
When Ayanna Pressley was first elected to the Boston City Council in 2009, she wasn’t the image of an “electable” candidate. In the 100 years of the Boston City Council, there had never been a woman of color.
Fast forward eight years, and “electability” in Boston looked pretty different. In 2017, six of the 13 councilors elected were women of color, and the Council is more willing to defy the mayor and push for progressive policies. It’s possible that, come 2020, the Council will be majority female and majority people of color.
Pressley won’t be there, though. She’s now in Congress.
In 2018, when Pressley ran against 20-year incumbent Rep. Michael Capuano in Massachusetts’s 7th District, insiders didn’t think she had much of a chance. An informal poll of more than 50 local political insiders by WGBH found 81% expected a Capuano victory. Indeed, polling a month before the election showed that she was largely unknown to voters, lagging by 13 points. But Pressley won by 17.
There is one thing that all these pundits seem to overlook…..the “Center” that they are most concerned about is more progressive than they want to believe…..
Donald Trump, Fox News, and Republicans in Congress label proposals they disagree with “fringe,” “radical,” or “socialist.” Well, let’s see where the American people actually stand:
Maybe it is time for the Democratic Party to grow a spine and stop running from radicalism…..they want progress then radical ideas will give the nation that change and progress they have been promised for years.
