Those 9/11 Conspiracies

Closing Thought–10Jan19

May I see a show of hands….how many have heard the 9/11 conspiracies ………does not matter which one just the conspiracies in general.

Do you believe any of the conspiracies?

In case you have not heard the theories (I would find that hard to believe…but hey anything is possible)…..I can help you with the search….

The 11 Most Compelling 9/11 Conspiracy Theories

Surely you have heard or read one or two of these theories….I mean unless you have been locked away with an iron mask…..

The hackers of Dark Overlord have done a bit of hacking and have found some “truth” about the attacks…..

A hacking collective known as The Dark Overlord announced on New Year’s Eve that it had broken into the computer systems of a law firm and obtained files related to the September 11 attacks – threatening to publicly release a large cache of internal files unless a hefty ransom was paid, according to Motherboard.

Dark Overlord’s demands targeted several insurers and legal firms, including Lloyds of London, Silverstein Properties and Hiscox Syndicates. It is unclear what exact files were stolen by the group, however the hacking collective tweeted “We’ll be providing many answers about 9.11 conspiracies through our 18.000 secret documents leak from @HiscoxComms and others.”

There will always be something “new” about the 9/11 attacks….and a wealth of answers to unasked questions.

Anything new that you have read or heard?

Time to put my mind in neutral for awhile…..TTFN!

Just One Of Those Dead Beat Tenants

I try to keep my readers up on the fiscal policies of the government…..or the lack of responsibility.

Ever had a bad month and your water got turned off before you could make it to the office to pay?

Have you heard the stories about our dear leader has been slow or even refused to pay his bills in the past?

Have you ever heard the old saying “show me a man that does not pay his bills and I will show you a little man”?

Okay enough questions….they all lead mto the article I will reference…..

The big question raised at a recent meeting of the Board of Directors for DC Water was: At what point can the Board shut off the water supply of a customer who isn’t paying their bills? A related question was: What if that customer happens to be the White House?

The Board’s chief financial officer, Matthew Brown, brought up how he received an email from a Treasury Department official saying that the federal government would not be paying all of their quarterly water bill, which comes out to $16.5 million. The email apparently said that the government would not be paying $5 million of that.

How embarrassing can it get?

Think back to all those stories of Trump not paying his bills in the past……I guess “old habits die hard” are more true than we imagined.

Once a con man always a con man.

Those Unpopular Wars

I know the old professor sounds like a stuck record…but until the napping masses wake up I shall continue to be stuck…..on an antiwar footing.

Trump is pulling out of Syria (so they say still no real evidence)(and now Trump is walking back his proclamation) and all the pundits that are paid handsomely for the pro-war analysis have come forward to crap on the announcement.

Then there are the pundits that say that Americans are tired of these unpopular wars….really?  Which ones are unpopular?  Who have they talked to to ascertain the unpopularity of these wars?

If these wars are so unpopular why is there few speaking out against them?

I have readers that are against our many entanglements but beyond that I hear very little about war from those on the street….so I ask again…..just who are these people that find our many wars distasteful?

The truth is that most Americans give little thought to these wars, regardless what some pundits try to push…..if the war is forgotten then why keep fighting?

A nation that doesn’t remember the men and women sent to fight on its behalf has no business whatsoever sending more. And a democracy that spends more time debating kneeling before the flag than the justification for issuing folded ones desperately needs to get reacquainted with the Constitution – and its moral compass.

Our loved ones didn’t sign up to serve a president. They signed up to serve the American people, most of whom have no idea what they’re fighting for.

https://original.antiwar.com/Stacy_Bannerman/2018/10/11/if-you-forget-about-a-war-its-time-to-end-it/

Let’s be real shall we……war makes no sense anymore…..the only ones that keep the whole idea of conquest are the defense industry only because that is their profits.

America spends more on its military than all its enemies put together yet it still can’t win wars. Failed adventures in Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan have drained America’s power and diminished its prestige. The bloated Pentagon budget actually makes us weaker.

Here’s the weird bit: nobody seems to care. If any other government department spent as much and accomplished as little, the populace would be in arms, complaining about wasteful government spending. Instead we mumble “Thank you for your service” and increase defense appropriations.

Finally the Neocons have wiggled their way back into the spotlight of war…..

Two years ago, as Donald Trump ascended to the presidency, you might have thought that, if nothing else, neoconservatives had finally been put out to pasture. In the campaign, Trump had blasted the neocons’ signature policy, the war in Iraq, as a “big fat mistake,” and repudiated their ostensible program of turning nations into liberal democracies. He paid no political price with voters, and probably the opposite, as white evangelicals once drawn to George W. Bush’s “freedom agenda” flocked to Trump in record numbers.

Even allowing for Trump’s opportunism and inconsistencies, his election victory appeared to deal a double blow to the neoconservative persuasion. It not only broke the neocons’ hold on the Republican Party, but also, in the same stroke, revealed that they lacked a popular constituency. There they were, free-floating pundits, alone and exposed—neither intellectually credible nor politically representative.

With the return of the Neocons comes the old plan…the “preventive war” (is that an oxymoron or what?)

In a December column in the Washington Post, reformed conservative Max Boot bemoaned the emergence of competing visions for American foreign policy, led by Trumpian skeptics on the right and progressive leaders, such as Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, on the left. These visions, Boot said, were in opposition to his own beloved doctrine of primacy and an American-led international order.

“For decades, elites in the United States had a consensus on foreign policy: They believed that championing a liberal world order was in our interest,” he writes. But now “we are seeing a new left-right axis emerge around protectionism and isolationism—the very policies whose failure during the 1930s ultimately led to the internationalist consensus of the postwar period.”

Sad to say……”war is good business….invest your children”

After Thought:  Has anyone noticed that since Trump has walked back his original proclamation and the US will stay in Syria the warmongering media has gone silent on the deal?

Special Ops Under Scrutiny

I know that the public thinks that our special ops can do no wrong….after all they did kill Osama, right?  I wish this was true and in the last couple of years scandal has become synonymous with the command.

In the last year or so SOCOM has had its scandals…..from murder to ambush deaths to loose lips……in Africa alone their ops have gone side ways on several occasion…after all this the Pentagon has ordered a review of SOCOM because of all the scandals that just keep mounding up……I wrote about their problems as they became evident……https://lobotero.com/2018/10/26/socom-you-have-a-problem/

Thanx to all the scandal…..The entire special ops community is under scrutiny…….

This fall has been rough for headlines involving special operations troops.

Two Navy SEALs and two Marine Raiders face murder charges in the death of a Green Beret last year in Mali. Meanwhile, a Navy SEAL is under investigation for murdering an Iraqi detainee, and a dozen of his colleagues could be called as witnesses.

Now, after U.S. Special Operations Command has been entrenched in the Global War on Terror for going on two decades, Congress is calling on a Defense Department review of the entire organization, from its operational load to ― notably ― the state of its professionalism and ethics programs.

The most recent National Defense Authorization Act points to “growing congressional concern with misconduct, ethics, and professionalism,” according to a Congressional Research Service report published in late October.

“That review is ongoing right now,” a defense official told Army Times

https://www.militarytimes.com/news/your-army/2018/12/05/the-pentagon-is-reviewing-the-special-operations-community-after-a-series-of-high-profile-scandals/

I have written that it is shameful to know that the “best of the best” after the media build-up is not necessarily the “best”.  None seem to be immune….the Green Berets, SEALs, Raiders, et al……..

I will be watching and reporting as often as I can on this situation and we hope that this can be rectified without the loss of face.

Special Ops cannot walk on water and they should not be immune to scrutiny….maybe with better oversight these types of scandals can be avoided.

What Of Libya?

Then there is Libya…..it has not made the headlines in the West for some time now…….and probably will not make much news in this new year…..but there is something that needs to be watched when it comes to Libya.

The conflict has not been abated and yet there is a situation where a warlord could be the permanent leader of Libya…..think Qaddafi and then think of a CIA thug, Haftar…….yes a CIA thug….Haftar has been a CIA asset since the 1980s and now he is in the cat bird seat……..

A Gadhafi-era general turned CIA asset with multiple failed coups d’etats under his belt, Gen. Khalifa Hafter is still around in northern Libya, securing oil-rich  parts of the nation and fighting various regional Islamist groups.

While this has often appeared to be fighting for fighting’s sake, or an attempt to get endorsements from different would-be governments, Gen. Hafter is quickly finding himself in favor internationally, as the world looks to stabilize Libya, and sees the aging warlord as a potential solution.

Western countries are all quick to insist Hafter is “indispensable,” and even the White House said they see a role for him “in any future of Libya,” though they did stop short of endorsing him as an outright military ruler, something he’s long sought.

Western support is fairly cynical, of course. European oil companies with assets in Libya all officially support the UN-backed government publicly, but since Hafter physically controls almost all of their assets, they can’t be too public in opposing him.

But the Russians have another idea….and its name is Qaddafi.

Do not look for the spirit of warlord past…..it is Saif….the son of the deceased leader……

Russia has a new potential leader for Libya. His name is Qaddafi.

The former dictator’s son, Saif al-Islam, this month became the latest in a long line of Libyans to seek Moscow’s support as President Vladimir Putin steps up Russia’s role in the energy-rich North African state.

With the U.S. all but absent, the Kremlin sees an opening to become the key power broker in Libya, rudderless and divided since Muammar Qaddafi’s overthrow and death in 2011. Russia is likely to be emboldened in that aim by U.S. plans to pull out of Syria.

https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-12-20/russia-has-a-plan-for-libya-another-qaddafi

All this is setting the stage for a return to the 1980s….Qaddafi versus the CIA…..only violence and death can be the outcome.  Libya does not need any more of those …….it needs a peaceful existence for its war torn population.

Sadly that is not in the books as long as there is a return to the 1980s.
