Please Vote But Not For Him

The 2016 election is close and as usual the dialog has digressed into immature babble…..issues no longer matter only gossip and insults…..one side has digressed into 4th grade tit for tat playground bickering….it is all too fucking silly for words.

Then there is the “picking on pitiful me” thing…..I mean these people are the same people that have been “picking on” Clintons for a decade (not that they do not deserve the scrutiny)……neither camp can actually talk about issues or solutions…just political platitudes for the idiots…..

Not a big fan of USA Today but they have done something that no other newspaper has done……given a non-endorsement……

USA Today has never taken sides in a presidential election before—but Donald Trump has never run for president before. In a blistering editorial, which can be seen in full here, the paper’s editorial board says it has decided to break with 34 years of tradition because Trump is simply “unfit for the presidency.” “He has demonstrated repeatedly that he lacks the temperament, knowledge, steadiness, and honesty that America needs from its presidents,” the board writes, urging readers to “resist the siren song of a dangerous demagogue” and vote for anybody but Trump.

The editorial board says that while it was united against Trump, it was not united in favor of Clinton because while some believe she would serve ably as president, others had reservations about issues including her “lack of candor” and her “extreme carelessness in handling classified information.” “Our bottom-line advice for voters is this: Stay true to your convictions,” which could mean a vote for Clinton, a third-party candidate, or a “focus on down-ballot candidates who will serve the nation honestly,” they write. (The Arizona Republicfaced a backlash after endorsing a Democrat for the first time in 126 years.)

Reasons for there op-ed is as follows…….

He is erratic. Trump has been on so many sides of so many issues that attempting to assess his policy positions is like shooting at a moving target. A list prepared by NBC details 124 shifts by Trump on 20 major issues since shortly before he entered the race. He simply spouts slogans and outcomes (he’d replace Obamacare with “something terrific”) without any credible explanations of how he’d achieve them.

He is ill-equipped to be commander in chief. Trump’s foreign policy pronouncements typically range from uninformed to incoherent. It’s not just Democrats who say this. Scores of Republican national security leaders have signed an extraordinary open letter calling Trump’s foreign policy vision “wildly inconsistent and unmoored in principle.” In a Wall Street Journal column this month, Robert Gates, the highly respected former Defense secretary who served presidents of both parties over a half-century, described Trump as “beyond repair.”

This editorial ought to get the micro-brain supporters up in arms…..(good times)

But to be honest I would say…please vote but not for the 2 biggies…….a better world is possible…but not with them.

  1. I am surprised all papers have not stood up yet the way USA Today did. They give their opinion about everything else…along with the news. Trump is a direct threat to freedom of the press and free speech and they all know this, especially after his threats in April to deal with ‘the press’.

  2. As Commander-In-Chief, Trump will do what all presidents do … He will hear the advice of his Chiefs of Staff and will decide the best course of action to take. As Commander-In-Chief and as President Trump will do what all presidents do … he will take the temperature of his Cabinet advisors, his legal counsel and others and will distill all their input and do what he thinks is best. But he will do nothing outside the authority of the Congress or Executive Orders because our government is replete with the checks and balances that keep elected officials in line. So all the arguments about how head strong and erratic Trump is boils down to nothing more than irrelevant propaganda by those who hate him and I have heard much the same arguments being made about every presdent since Kennedy — and of course, I remember that the pundits said Kennedy couldn’t be president because if he became president then Rome would make the decisions for America. All this Anti-Trump crap is spin by people who are more than willing to roll over and let the Clintons rule for another 4 to 8 years under policies that seem to be little more than expansions of many of the Obamanations we have all been subject to since “The One” ascended to the throne of our first wannabe imperial presidency.

    1. This is what is said by every candidates spin doctors……it is all crap….every candidate will do what they are told once elected…that is if they want a second term.

      1. Everything is spin, has always been spin and will always be spin. It started with Lincoln/Douglas in a big way and has been spin ever since. It had a revival in 2000-2008.

    2. I no longer have any faith in the system if this is the best we can do for candidates….we are in for a long 4 years…..hope you have a good weekend

      1. I would agree a bit…but after 8 years of people saying crap about Obama, most of it deserved, they seem to not believe what you say……that 51% of the people are wrong……I feel the system is in a slow death spiral…..I hope I am wrong and will be dead if I am right so…never mind

      2. The 51% of the people who are considered to be wrong by the 49% would probably argue that it is the 49% who are in error. Nothing new here. Matter of Public Opinon and a product of the “Majority Opinion” conundrum.

      3. There is no respect for the office of president…..right or wrong he/she was elected…..but that will not happen ever again…..thus down the rabbit hole

  3. There doesn’t need to be “Respect” for the Office of The President so long as it remains in place and remains a part of our governmental structure. The office of the president is not there to garner respect but to act in a Constitutionally-mandated manner to see to it that the government works and that it is protected. There doesn’t have to be “Respect” for the Constitution or The National Anthem or for The Military or The Veterans or anything else as long as The American System of Government is sustained and protected. It is good when respect is proffered but it is not mandated nor is it necessary for the preservation of The Republic. Law and Order will prevail regardless of whether or not there is respect for the Law and it is the same with the Government and the “System” of Government. The “Government and the System of Government will go on as it always has unless and until “The People” decide to change it according to the dictates of The Constitution.

  4. So, where was any media’s Journalist Integrity when that BUFFOON (or Ms. Warmonger) at the beginning of this election process? I shall tell you: “Making obscene amounts of money reporting foolishness!”
